Description
Our family run a cattle genetics business in Western Victoria. We live on a beautiful farm in a historic homestead, with a large garden. Our three grown children spend a lot of time here with their friends and our eldest lives on the farm in his own cottage. We have two dogs, a whippet called Gypsy, a blind (but resilient and very happy) labrador called Maggie, 6 chooks and a diverse population of native birds and animals. We are only 45 minutes from the rugged Grampians ranges and 60 minutes from the spectacular Great Ocean Road.

Workaways will be able to interact with other residents on the farm, who come from Australia, Hungary and the UK. Local horse races, sporting events and cultural events are on offer as well as being close to many of Australia's most popular tourist attractions like the Great Ocean Road, The Grampians and other internationally recognised destinations. There are many wonderful walks and places to explore in the area.

Help
Only non business related work is conducted by the workawayer's, they will not be doing cattle or farm work. We are looking for 2 fit, energetic people to live in a lovely cottage on the farm to help with gardening, mowing, house cleaning, general tidying up and looking after the dogs and chooks when we are away.

Accommodation
An historic fully renovated and furnished, two bedroom bluestone cottage, with well appointed kitchen, one bathroom, cosy sitting room with open fire, laundry facilities and garage. As the cottage allows for self sufficiency, Workaways can eat most meals at their own house, with food provided as ready made meals, or ingredients provided to cook for themselves. Meals at the host families house will be at mutually agreeable times.
What else ...
Hours doing tasks each day (4 hours per day) can be negotiated in order to allow for days off to explore our beautiful part of the world ie more hours on one day to allow for more days off. Public transport is not an option here, so own transport is advisable. We live 20 kms from the nearest town.
