Description
Hi I'm Alex. I’m 34 years old, originally from Mexico, and currently calling Brisbane, Australia, my home. Life has been a journey full of sports, adventure, and craftsmanship. I’ve always had a deep love for all kinds of sports – whether it’s playing american football, hiking, or trying something new. Sports keep me active and grounded, and I’m always seeking ways to challenge myself physically.
Traveling is one of my greatest passions, and I’ve been fortunate enough to visit 27 countries so far. Each place I’ve explored has taught me something new – whether it's the diverse cultures, stunning landscapes, or the people I’ve met along the way. No matter where I go, my love for nature is a constant. I feel most at peace when I’m immersed in the outdoors, whether it’s hiking in the mountains or just enjoying a quiet moment in a park.
By trade, I’m a carpenter, and I take great pride in my craft. There’s something incredibly satisfying about creating something with my hands, whether it's designing, building, or simply bringing an idea to life. It’s not just a job for me – it’s a passion that lets me express my creativity and attention to detail.
Living in Brisbane has been an amazing experience. I love the balance this city offers – the access to beautiful nature and outdoor activities while still being connected to a vibrant, diverse urban community. Whether I’m surfing at the beach, hiking through nearby forests, or just taking in the local sights, there’s always something new to discover here.
I’m someone who thrives on exploration – both in the world and in my work. I’m constantly looking for new experiences, new challenges, and ways to grow. Whether it’s through sports, travel, or my craft, I’m always ready for the next adventure.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I’m originally from Mexico and speak both English and Spanish, so whether you’re a Spanish speaker or an English speaker, we’ll have no trouble connecting. My housemate is from the Philippines, so you'll also have the chance to learn about Filipino culture, traditions, and food.
Outside of our home, I enjoy doing a variety of outdoor activities with my friends, who come from all over the world. Whether it’s hiking, exploring local spots, or enjoying sports, you’ll get to experience life from many different cultural perspectives. It’s a great opportunity to share stories, exchange ideas, and learn from each other while connecting with people from different backgrounds.Help
Hello! I’d love to give back to this platform that’s given me so much. When I was in Canada, I spent 10 amazing months traveling with "Workaway," and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. It opened my eyes to the beauty of connecting with others, exchanging skills, and learning from people all over the world. Now, I want to pay it forward.
What I’m offering is a simple and symbolic exchange. If you’re a traveler looking for a cozy place to stay, I’d be happy to offer accommodations in my home. In return, all I ask is for you to take my dog (Shelby), for a walk once a day. Shelby is friendly, easygoing, and loves being outdoors – so this is a great way to get to know the local area while helping me out in a small way.
For me, it’s about sharing experiences and connecting with fellow travelers. I want to provide a welcoming space where you can relax and feel at home, all while sharing stories, advice, and maybe even a few laughs. It’s not just about the walk with Shelby; it’s about the exchange of energy, stories, and culture that makes travel so enriching.
If you’re looking for a place to stay and enjoy some laid-back company while traveling, I’d be happy to host you. Let’s connect and share this wonderful journey!Languages spoken
