Merci Raphael"

I had the pleasure of volunteering at Ana’s hostel for 3 weeks. Both the hostel and the people were amazing. Ana was incredibly welcoming, kind, fun, and generous. The work was very fair and satisfying as well. The hostel itself was also amazing, as it has a homey and comfortable atmosphere, while being in a wonderful location. Dubrovnik is a stunning city, and I would love to come back here one day. I highly recommend volunteering at Ana’s hostel, it was a truly wonderful experience.

I spent the month of September with Jenny and Luca, and it was a great first Workaway experience. I wanted to wait to leave a review until I had visited another Workaway, to give a more accurate and honest review. Jenny and Luca were both extremely welcoming, having great conversations over dinner every night, taking time to play card games or chat in the afternoons, and introducing me to their friends. They were also very helpful in figuring out public transportation in Sicily, which is more complicated than you would think! The work itself was very close to what I imagined from their profile; I spent my time preparing land for winter gardens, and finishing some vegetable harvests. I was also interested in learning about Luca's bio-construction projects, so we spent some time experimenting with different floor systems for a new cabin he is building. If you are interested in learning something, Jenny and Luca are more than happy to teach you! We also spent some time learning how to make bread, because I expressed interest in that. I really enjoyed the accommodations, the camper and green-house shower let me enjoy being close to the land. But for future Workawayers, if you are not comfortable with showering outside and using a compost toilet maybe reconsider this stay :). Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. I learned so much about Sicilian culture, organic farming, and many tasty recipes I will take home with me! Thank you, Jenny and Luca, for having me!!

🌻 Our Experience Hosting Albert & Filippo It’s hard to describe how much the Workaway programme has enriched our lives here in Italy. Over the years, my husband and I have met so many wonderful people through it — and each experience has been truly special in its own way. I (Claire) usually manage the interviewing and coordination side of things, trying my best to make sure the match is right for both the hosts and the Workawayers.I must say, with Albert and Filippo, it couldn’t have been more perfect! From the moment they arrived, we laughed and laughed. It’s difficult to put into words just how comfortable and natural it felt to have them here — as if they had always been part of our little family. They are truly special people: mature, responsible, hardworking, and full of positive energy. We shared so many wonderful moments — including my big birthday party in the garden! They both put so much thought and effort into the preparation and planning, and the evening was a huge success. I still smile when I think of all of us dressed up in our ABBA costumes and hearing Filippo say, “Oh Alberto i!!” — pure magic! 🎶 These memories are treasures — little pieces of joy that remind us why we love doing Workaway. Alberto and Filippo, thank you for sharing your time, laughter, and kindness with us. From myself, Andrea, the five cats, and of course Indie and Ursula, you were simply wonderful — and you will never be forgotten. ❤️

I have stayed at Fabri and Levi's for three weeks, and I could not be more grateful for the time I spent with them at Sprigole. Fabri and Levi are open, loving people, who accept everyone, regardless of their race/nationality/religion. They treated me as a part of the family, always making sure I was doing okay and that my needs are met. We also always had extremely interesting conversations about Italy and its history. They even taught me a few phrases in Bergamasco ("le riat Marconi" & "te ciapere che del formai" are now in may day-to-day Italian! lol). Thank you so so much Fabri and Levi. It's been an absolute pleasure and I can't wait to be back! P.S. Fabri, I can't get your cooking out of my mind!!!

The visit of Karl & Lisa was not planned but we have a feeling that at the same time it was no coincidence at all. What they brought to us was reminding of what's important in life, what matters most and how magical and amazing human journey actually is. Shortly speaking, they lighten our Spirit up! With them, everyday tasks and challenges were so easy and fun and the world seemed a cozy and friendly place to live. This brave and inspiring couple in a short time became like a family to us. Karl & Lisa, we wish you all the best during your travel and we expect you to visit us again!

Suri stayed with us for two weeks, and from the moment she arrived, she brought such a wonderful energy to our home. She is a truly special person — considerate, caring, kind, generous, and always pleasant to be around. During her stay, she prepared some amazing Korean dishes that everyone loved, and she even took the time to teach us how to make traditional Korean masks. We learned so much about Korean culture thanks to her, and really appreciated her enthusiasm for sharing it with us. Suri was respectful, tidy, and easy to communicate with — everything you could hope for in a Workaway guest. She quickly became one of our favorite guests so far, and we would welcome her back anytime. Any host would be very lucky to have her!

The experience with Sally was absolutely positive. She's always smiling, welcoming and willing to make workawayers feel at home. Sally is an incredible woman, strong, smart and independent and talking with her was always interesting. Her two dogs, Maia and Benny are cute and loving. 🐾🦮😍 The house is beautiful, the surrounding area is wonderful, the vineyards, countryside, and proximity to Lake Garda are perfect for some delightful walks. We enjoyed taking care of the garden, the house and the dogs. We will miss them all and for sure we will stay in touch!

Thank you Nina for the two weeks we spent immersed in both nature and history along the Dalmatian coast. Nina's house is in perfect location. You can leave the house in your swimsuit , go for swimming and return home. We helped her some changes the house, she inherited from her grandparents and respectfully dispose of her sentimental belongings. It was a emotional time for her. we reconstructed the old cupboards selecting what she needed and installing them where necessary. Her garden is wonderful, we pruned it and necessary cleaning to bring out it's beauty again. we repaired and cleaned the rain gutters and removed old items from the house. we spent pleasent times together at the dining table. Ülkü told us about her home in the Austrian Alpin and cooked us many delicious Austrian pastries. We had an unforgettable late summer on the Dalmatian coast with Nina.Thank you very much. Max is an amazing young Swede. He tirelessly dug and raked my entire garden without complaint, always humbly asking for direction and reliably tracking his hours. He is a gentle, warm, and caring youth who loves fellowship but is equally content working alone. He sometimes shies away from taking the lead—not always based on an accurate estimation of his own skills—but he will gradually grow into it. Max is also an excellent cook, yet he's happy to simply chop veggies if that's what's needed. You might not notice him too much while he's around, but you'll definitely miss his pleasant presence once he's gone! He will always be welcome and I will keep in touch with him.

Staying with Sharon and her family was such a special experience for me. They were all very quick to welcome me in and made me feel like part of the family. I spent a month on the farm and didn’t know how to drive manual, but Sharon and her family were always offering rides whenever I needed to get into town or go anywhere, and I really appreciated that kindness. The farm is surrounded by really beautiful bush trails and hikes and is so fun to explore. The horses and all the animals are so well cared for and trained, and you can really feel the love and respect in the way they’re handled every day. I had no experience in the endurance world before coming, and they were so patient and kind while teaching me all about it. Sharon has amazing energy and a lifetime of knowledge and experience to share! I also loved my time getting to know her husband and hearing his stories and perspective on life in Australia. He also has so much knowledge to share and is just very kind. I miss them and truly hope I can see them again in the future :)

Nikolai is a valuable volunteer, hard working, diverse in his skills, as he helped with smaller electric installations, some carpentry and joinery issues, worked in the garden and pickled veggies, chopped a lot of wood for winter, and above all, was great with my animals. I felt safe and grateful having him as a house sitter for almost a month.

Ms. Stefanie Nunes Rosa was employed at Skotteksgården Camping in Ulricehamn from the end of April until the end of September 2025. Her responsibilities included ensuring cleanliness and organization throughout the campsite as well as in the holiday cottages and apartments. In addition, she demonstrated great practical and technical skills, taking initiative in performing minor repairs and painting work. She also cared deeply about the maintenance of our gardens and handled all the necessary tools and machinery with confidence and competence. Throughout the season, Stefanie showed remarkable organizational ability and always had a clear overview of all tasks to be completed. Thanks to her flexibility, reliability, and versatility, she proved to be a true multitalent – or, as we say in Sweden, an “allt i allo” – which we all greatly appreciated. In her interactions with both guests and colleagues, Stefanie was always warm, kind, and helpful. Her positive attitude and commitment contributed significantly to a pleasant and harmonious working atmosphere, making the entire season easier and more enjoyable for everyone. Stefanie met all our expectations in every respect, and we sincerely thank her for her valuable work and dedication. We wish her all the best and much success for the future – our doors will always be open to her. Ulricehamn, 1.11.2025 Günter und Johanna Ellinger

We had a wonderful time, the house we were given was lovely and Jan and Chris were even better. We felt very at home and cared for and they would go out of their way to help us. The work we were asked to do was fun, enjoyable, rewarding and educational. We cannot thank them enough for this great experience.

Gerrit met me in Swaziland (now Eswatini) to drive back my ranger and me the 6x6 truck. He arrived before the truck was ready and help to get it ready... but the dsay we were suppose to leave, a part of the gearbox broke. We then drove back together in the ranger and had good time. We became friend. He is a very calm person with good communication skills. A generous and passionate person about bitcoin. Now he is staying in one of my cottage as a friend.
