    Description

Work in nature at beautiful Waipatiki Beach (just north of Napier, New Zealand). We have a private Eco-Project where we are regenerating 20 acres of farmland to native forest. In addition there are two public reserves with extensive native bush and birdlife. We have a community nursery which provides trees for planting. Work will be in the nursery, planting trees, clearing weeds from trees, and a range of small building projects to enhance the land. Waipatiki beach provides an incredible location to relax and unwind after your work.

You will learn about the Kiwi way of life. We have a superb eco-lodge which provides excellent accommodation. You can practice your English and we would love to practice our French (basic at this stage). You will learn about the native trees and birdlife. And you will learn many Maori words and phrases.

Work will be in the nursery propagating seeds, re-potting small seedlings and upsizing larger seedlings. Tree planting and clearing weeds from trees is an ongoing requirement both on our private block and on public land. In addition we have a range of small building projects to enhance the land. We love to cook so most nights will be shared evening meals with opportunities to share culture. Important Note: Some of the work is physical and on steep terrain so you need to fit and agile.
