  • Description

Hi there! My name is Jennifer, I’m 32 and originally from Germany. After working in the finance and insurance industry for several years, I decided to take a conscious break to explore new ways of living, meet people from different cultures, and slow down a little.

I’m naturally curious and love learning—whether it’s about sustainability, culture, languages, or simply how others live their daily lives. I enjoy hands-on work that has purpose and am always happy to help and learn along the way, especially when it comes to sustainable living, creative projects, or community-focused tasks. I also appreciate thoughtful conversations, cultural events, and spending time outdoors—whether that’s going for a walk, hiking, or simply enjoying a quiet moment in nature.

New environments inspire me to learn, contribute, and grow. I’m open to different kinds of tasks and happy to lend a hand where it’s needed. These are some things I enjoy or could genuinely see myself contributing to:
    • Spending time in nature and soaking up the calm
    • Working with plants, gardening, or eco-projects
    • Baking and sharing simple, nourishing meals
    • Helping with creative tasks, housework, or light renovation
    • Supporting events, retreats, or hostel environments
    • Being around animals

People often describe me as calm, warm, respectful, and dependable. I value clear communication, a positive and relaxed atmosphere, and being around kind, down-to-earth people. I also appreciate having a balance between shared time and personal space.

One of my favorite experiences so far was during a WWOOFing stay, where we built a small wooden shelter together, lived simply, ate healthy food, and shared meaningful conversations. I still think about that time often – and that’s exactly the kind of experience I’m hoping to find through Workaway.

I’m traveling solo and looking forward to supporting great hosts, learning new things, and sharing moments that matter.

    Looking forward to meeting you!

  • More details about your skills

During my Work & Travel year, I picked up a bunch of hands-on experience. I helped out with cleaning and making natural spa products at a few places, and I also managed an Airbnb, which taught me a lot about organization and communication.

I’ve done some painting work during renovation projects, and I enjoy light landscaping tasks like planting and watering flowers.

I’ve worked as a waitress in a cozy Irish tea café and packed orders in a warehouse, so I’m comfortable with a variety of tasks.

Back in Germany, I completed professional training in insurance and finance, which gave me good organizational skills and a problem-solving mindset.

I learn best by doing and enjoy picking up new skills along the way. I’m open to new experiences and happy to follow instructions, whether working independently or with others.

I’m reliable, easygoing, and always keen to learn—especially when it involves practical work and being part of a community.

  • What else ...

I love spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying a quiet moment in nature. Being active helps me recharge, and I also enjoy yoga and pilates as part of a more mindful lifestyle.

I’m curious about different ways of living and enjoy exploring new cultures through exhibitions, concerts, or just everyday conversations. In my quieter moments, I love listening to audiobooks or podcasts, journaling, baking, or getting lost in a good book.

I really value slow, conscious travel and meaningful connections with people from different backgrounds. I enjoy thoughtful conversations about life, culture, and personal growth—and I’m always open to learning something new. I love trying new things, especially when it comes to daily life, creative tasks, or hands-on experiences. I’m also working on improving my English along the way.
