Cecilia is a blend of essences... her face reflects it... she's Persian/Nordic, an intelligent, approachable, hardworking woman... very observant... with great social intelligence... she has forged very strong alliances with the other volunteers... a gentle woman who contributes... who adds to building strong interpersonal bonds... we hope you'll return to this project whenever you wish. Warm regards.

It was a pleasure to have Ava stay with us and help out on the farm. We were not able to offer a very wide variety of jobs, but Ava seemed to be happy looking after the goats on a daily basis and this help us out no end. She communicated well, got on with the kids and generally fitted in with the busy goings on in our household, also helping Gosia out with a few tasks related to her cosmetics business.
Happy to recommend Ava if you get a request in your in box :)

Kuga is a special person, and a wonderful Workaway guest. He is thoughtful, up for an adventure, a hard worker, and just a great person with whom to spend time. He learns quickly and even takes notes to make sure he is doing something correctly. His attention to detail will serve him well as an architect. He learned to paint interior walls with us and began to use tools such as cordless drills. He works hard on his English skills. We strongly recommend him. Ask him about Gifu coffee culture! We enjoyed learning about his life in Japan over many meals.

Silvia is very kind and has a sweat soul. She will treat you like family. I had a great experience. It an awesome spot to explore the town which has a beautiful free beach, a nice park, and is very bike friendly. Additionally the mountains are close enough by car where I was able to spend a night there and watch a sunrise on top.
Silvia provides you with a super comfy bed and a bike to get all around town. It was great learning all about her lifestyle and the fun meals she cooks. (Also bonus, the fresh fruits were the best I've ever had)
ONLY do if you're willing to take care of Silvia as much as she will take care of you. Treat her well.

What an incredible experience! We had the best time with Padma, Piero, and the whole Boabom family, who welcomed us into their amazing lifestyle from the moment we arrived.
We loved caring for all the wonderful animals - the horses, dogs, chickens, bees, and of course Tara the cat - as well as helping to look after the land.
Some particular highlights were driving the legendary 1988 Toyota Hilux, tasting Piero’s delicious black honey, joining him at his tango class, and having a go at Boabom archery too.
We really didn’t want to leave and already miss you all so much. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for sharing your home, family, and way of life with us.
We hope to see you again soon.
Sojam!

My time with Richard and Maurice was truly wonderful. From my first week at the B&B, I felt completely relaxed, as if I were with real family.
Richard is incredibly kind, generous, and supportive. He's always patient, no matter how busy he is (he didn't even get upset when another helper broke the vacuum cleaner). Richard's father, Maurice, is also very kind and considerate. He always generously shared his brilliant homemade ginger cakes, and didn't mind my accent.
They both work hard and always work together to run their B&B.
Regarding my role, it's not difficult at all once you get used to it (you might want to bring sandals for cleaning shower rooms). In the morning I set the tables for guests, which took about 15-20 minutes. After my breakfast, I cleaned the guest rooms and bathrooms, finishing by 12:30 AM at the latest. After dinner, I did the ironing, which also wasn’t hard at all.
Since it was my first time working at a B&B, it took a few days to get used to the work. However, as long as you’re keen to improve and have the right attitude to do the job, there's nothing to worry about. They’re always there to support and encourage you.
Burnsall is a truly beautiful place, and on my days off I was able to explore the lovely towns nearby. In my free time I really enjoyed chatting with them, walking footpaths in village, baking and eating (don’t worry, you’ll never go hungry there).
I’m sure I’ll come back to their B&B again, and really grateful for the wonderful time I had there with Richard, Maurice, and lovely dog Margaret.
I sincerely wish them all the best.
With love,
Sakura

We had Cece here for only two weeks, but that was a lovely presence and she helped us having a lot of work done! She worked mostly in the garden, making new veggie beds, a lot of digging, watering, weeding... She helped with cooking - she is an amazing cook! - and also regularly helped Mia practicing English. Her energy is calm and her pace slow, but does things with care and presence and she can very much enjoy the moment without rushing, especially with kids. Mia will never forget the hike Cece went to together with her and all the games and laughter with Smee and Hook :)) We can definitely reccomend her, especially in families with kids. You're welcome anytime!!

We hosted Magda in our home for a month: she's a truly kind and sweet girl! She helped us with our son Lory, not only by teaching him English but also by caring for him responsibly and sensibly! Lory had a great time and became very fond of her! It was a real pleasure spending time with her and we hope to see her again next year.

Highly Recommended! A Wonderful Creative Chef and Proactive Long-Term Volunteer!
Luis stayed with us for 1.5 months as our very first long-term volunteer. Although we were initially a bit anxious about hosting someone for a longer period, it turned out to be an absolutely amazing experience with no major issues at all!
With his warm and friendly personality, Luis naturally and quickly bonded with everyone in our big family. Since he stayed during a very busy season for our rice paddies and gardens, most of his tasks were farm work, which he helped with tremendously.
However, we soon discovered his great sense of craftsmanship and creativity! When he occasionally helped with DIY projects, his passion really shone through, and he looked incredibly inspired. On top of that, drawing from his background as a former chef, he treated us to delicious home-cooked meals from time to time, which the whole family absolutely loved.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Luis as our first long-term guest. He is highly reliable, creative, and a joy to live with. We strongly recommend him to any host! Thank you so much, Luis! You will always be a cherished member of our family.

Veljko took the time to visit us during his trip across Europe, and we were very happy to have him here. Even though he only stayed for a few days, he was a great help with weeding, harvesting, and various tasks around the farm.
When you give Veljko a task, you can be sure it will be done thoroughly and with care. He is eager to learn, highly motivated, and his analytical mindset leads him to ask thoughtful questions and quickly understand new concepts.
Beyond his work, Veljko was a pleasure to have around. We enjoyed hearing about his hitchhiking adventures and sharing experiences together. We already miss his stories and positive presence.
Thank you for your help, Vjelko. You are always welcome back!

To be honest, before coming here, I was feeling very nervous.
It was my first time traveling abroad alone, my first homestay experience, and on top of that, my English is not very good… and French? Even more challenging. I had so many worries and doubts.
But that was before I met them.
From the very first moment we met, they warmly and kindly welcomed a stranger from the far side of Asia — a girl who couldn’t even communicate well in their language — as if I had always been part of their family.
I fell in love with them from the very first day…!hahah
I spent two unforgettable weeks in their beautiful home, surrounded by their lovely garden, their charming village, and most importantly, their incredible kindness and love.
I truly felt like I had become their daughter.
It felt like I had stepped into a fairy tale, like I was living inside a beautiful dream that I never wanted to wake up from.
And of course, I cannot forget the amazing food made with so much love by this wonderful family. C’est très bon …!!
Many times, I honestly wondered if I was staying in a restaurant instead of a home…! The meals were absolutely delicious and full of warmth.
I will never forget these precious two weeks and the love you shared with me.
Geneviève!! Claud!!
Merci beaucoup !!!

Maeva stayed with us for several months and was a wonderful addition to our home.
She arrived with great confidence and independence and quickly settled into life in Ireland. She made friends easily, joined local classes, became a member of the gym and was always keen to get out and explore. It was lovely to see her embrace the experience so fully and make the most of her time here.
Maeva was kind, respectful and easy to live with. She often surprised us by bringing home little treats, which was always thoughtful and appreciated. She was also happy to get involved in family life and quickly became familiar with the local area.
As with many long-term Workawayers, as Maeva built her own social circle and routine, she naturally became more focused on her own activities and friendships. This is completely understandable and part of the experience of becoming settled in a new country.
Towards the end of Maeva’s stay, we had significant work being carried out on the house, including painters and decorators, which meant we needed to move out temporarily ourselves. As a result, we gave Maeva notice that her stay would be coming to an end. By that stage she had established strong local connections and had already secured another Workaway placement, so we were confident she would transition successfully.
We are grateful for the time Maeva spent with us and wish her every success in her future travels and adventures. We have many happy memories of her stay and would happily recommend her to future hosts.

Kamila is an excellent worker, has no problem communicating, has a great sense of humor and is just a lovely person altogether to be around. Keeps her room tidy, cleans up after herself and is happy to do all the tasks involving the animals like walking the dogs, checking the water for the horses, mucking out, putting the hay and feeds out and I am sure she would be willing to do tasks that don´t involve the animals too. She is a responsible person, can work independently, has patience, knows horses in and out and had no problem dealing with the hairy situations we got in when the horses, well, one in particular started it all, decided they didn´t want to stay in for the night, for two nights in a row.
I learned a few things from her, as I am new to smart phones and ordering on screens in a fastfood restaurant.
She is an absoulte gem if you need a volunteer to help with animal care. Highly recommended.
