I had such a great time during my two weeks with Sascha, Oli, and the two littlies! Ivar and baby Jonin are hilarious and spirited, and Oli and Sascha are amazing hosts, easy to communicate with, happy to recommend good spots, and generally just cool people to be around! I did the most amazing hike over the mountain right behind the house, with fantastic views from the top, and also got involved in some freezing river swimming 🥶 Working was easy to navigate and always flexible, so I never felt like it got in the way of experiencing the beautiful environment. I absolutely recommend staying with this lovable bunch of humans!

Sorry for the late review, but I worked at Lise and Feri's place from September 9th, 2025 to October 5th, 2025. It was my first time doing a Workaway, and I couldn't have asked for a better time! I learned so much about taking care of the sheep and goats, cutting/pruning trees, and just doing random tasks around the farm. I was lucky to be there with 3 others like me helping around the farm, so it was great connecting with them throughout too. Lastly, how can I forget about Feri's amazing meals! He made us knafeh, lamb soup, a Mediterranean platter, and so much more.

Dear Angelika, Although I only spent a few days with you, my stay was a wonderful and interesting experience. I learned so much from you and am grateful for the time we spent together! You are a fantastic woman with great values and a wonderful attitude, and I believe that if more people thought and acted like you, the world would be a better place. During my time with you, I learned a lot about communication, sustainability, permaculture, wildlife in the garden, plant species, and gardening. I really appreciated the well-structured daily routine, which we always started with a short chat. You were always there to listen, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing your stories. :) You showed me organizational strategies that allowed us to work as efficiently as possible and prepared me well for the rest of my Workaway trip. My work consisted of a good mix of hands-on gardening and computer research, which allowed me to discover topics I would never have encountered otherwise. You also showed me your hometown of Ludolfshausen and told me a lot about the history of the village and its surroundings. During my stay, I also had the pleasure of meeting your cat Luna and some other lovely people who made a very positive impression on me. You are a very inspiring person, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Thank you so much for everything, Linn :)

A bit of a belated feedback. 😊 I had the opportunity to help out in the hostel for a month last November-December. It was hands down a wonderful experience that really set the bar high for my future hostel gigs! 😊 Communication regarding dates and details beforehand with Olga (the contact person and organizer of volunteer activities) was smooth via WhatsApp chat and a video call. There are WhatsApp groups for staff things, hostel activities such as evening events, yoga or workout sessions, community clean-up volunteering. You will always be up-to-date with everything fun going on! 😊 We had weekly schedules, 4 hours/day (in one block or 2+2 hours divided), 6 days a week. Tasks were clearly defined and easy to follow via checklists and introductions during the first shifts. We made the beds, did various housekeeping chores (taking out the trash, keeping the kitchen clean), a bit of cleaning (mostly sweeping & mopping) – nothing serious. Usually there are 4 volunteers, 3 on housekeeping and 1 on activities. There is a volunteer dorm with a dedicated staff bathroom on the top floor. The dorm itself is quite small, but you’ll likely be downstairs interacting and spending your time with the others anyways! 😊 Speaking of interacting and spending time – this was the best! Everyone, staff, volunteers, guests were all very open and welcoming! There were evening activities (organized by the volunteer on activities) like pub crawls, open mike/karaoke nights, live music at one of the bars, quiz nights… Other hostel activities included yoga sessions hosted by Olga, callisthenics workouts with Coach Gav or community clean-ups somewhere by the sea! Other times one of the guests would spontaneously start cooking something quick and delicious using the fresh veggies from the farmer’s market and inviting others. 😊 I could go on, but I’m way over my character limit already! 😊 I really enjoyed my time in Antalya and I’m sure I’ll be back sometime! I can only recommend helping out in the hostel. I’m sure it will be a fun experience and you won’t regret it! 😊

Chris was a great volunteer and a very positive presence at our place. He helped us with a variety of tasks, including removing blackberry bushes, painting, and other general work around the property. He worked steadily, responsibly, and followed instructions well. Chris communicates clearly, is respectful of boundaries, and adapts well to different types of work. We appreciated that he was thoughtful about choosing tasks that suited him best and always followed through on what he committed to. On a personal level, Chris is kind, open, and has a great sense of humor. We shared many good conversations and laughs, and it was genuinely pleasant to have him around. He integrated easily into our daily life and brought a calm, friendly energy with him. We’re very happy he chose our place for his first Workaway experience and can confidently recommend him to other hosts. We’d be glad to welcome him again in the future.

This is long overdue and for that I apologize, Claire. I had the privilege of staying at 'Claire's village' in the summer of 2025. Claire's posting stood out to me when I was looking at the workaway offers in Philippines. Not knowing much about the area, I am glad that this was my first experience of the rural island life in Philippines. Busuanga is beautiful, with Coron being the touristy spot. The surrounding locations are so worth exploring too. And Claire knows some of the best spots in the area. The time I spend there was once in a lifetime, which I hope I can repeat one day. ) There's plenty of projects to help with. It will certainly help if you are handy and like to take charge rather than being supervised and told what to do. Claire is making her best to make sure you are well-fed and that she does utilizing her great cooking skills and the knowledge of the locally available produce. She cares for your overall well-being at all times. Her little homestead has a lot of soul, if you like animals you will meet the friendliest pets. People around are just as friendly. If you miss socializing you don't need to go far to do that, there are other places around that accommodate tourists. Claire's is a cool person to be around; we never ran out of things to do. I would recommend this workaway to those who like to work hard and play hard. If you are responsible and pro-active, you can have the best experience helping the 'Village'. And for both you and Claire I hope it'll be a good match. Thank you, Claire. See you again.

Hannah is such a wonderful woman. She was so easy to get along with. My kids just adored her. She was very helpful around the home and the farm and went above and beyond what we asked of her. I’d recommend hosting her!

We spent nearly a month at Alex and Rico's farm and it has been absolutely lovely; they're extremely kind and communicative people, understanding, open and flexible. The place is peaceful, immerse in nature in a real countryside setting. Also the tasks for workawayers are light and enjoyable; the atmosphere genuinely makes you want to contribute to this beautiful project, but it also provides plenty of opportunities to slow down, reflect, stargaze and meditate. We would surely like to come back and we're very grateful for this opportunity, and most of all for the trust we were given.

Dan stayed with us recently, it took him a few days to find his place with the other volunteers and learn how to live independently in a community style of living, but he got there. The weather was really wet & stormy, so there was not very much work to do as a result. He kept himself busy walking the dog. He was understanding about the power cuts, which were fixed the very next morning both times by checking the fuse box.

Where do I even begin? My experience with Kirsten, Sam and their entire Family and staff was just incredible. I felt at home right away. Their communication was open and honest, and I appreciated their efforts to make me feel included and comfortable in their home. The expectations on both sides were discussed multiple times as we made sure that we were meeting each other's needs. I had such an amazing time bonding with their children and cooking beautiful meals for the family and staff. We had many deep conversations where we were able to bond and share our life experiences. It was truly cultural exchange. I met Kirsten and Sam at a very transitional point in my life and I'm grateful for the opportunity they gave me to experience life in Hermanus with them. The accommodation was beautiful and located in a private wing of the home. Life in Hermanus is magical and that isn't an exaggeration. The scenery, the lifestyle, the people they all make it such an amazing place to live. I miss Kirsten, Sam, & the entire family and hope to reunite with them soon. I'm glad I have family now on the other side of the world. Thank you both of you guys for making my experience truly incredible. This is what travel is about!
