    Description

    𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘: Feb and onwards.

    Hello workawayer!

My name is Claire. I am a Filipino-American woman, former host/surfer, world traveler, audiophile, psychonaut, rebellious, sovereign Earthling with cosmic roots. 👽

I just finished building four bungalows that will soon be a backpacker hostel. Currently it is missing a few amenities inside (like light fixtures, mattresses) so we are not ready to open quite yet. However there are many white walls and I am looking for some visionary artists to work their magic and fill the rooms and bathroom walls up with visionary art to inspire guests! If you are looking to fill this visionary painter position, please write the word, "Vision" in the subject line of your introduction message.

    ---

As per the Work Away ToS, "You must be tolerant to ways of living and be sympathetic with any rules set by the host."
I am currently experimenting with inviting different lifestyles of volunteers to experience all different walks of life. At this time I am only accepting unvaccinated (COVID-19) individuals.

You must be willing to work. You will be logging hours directly with me and will be able to take your days off as agreed prior to starting.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

My family is from this island. My mom was born here, and I am 100% Filipino.

You will learn how to be self-sufficient. How to move towards off-grid living. You will learn how to be humble and live simply. You will remember the significance of hard work and the reward of giving back to the land.

If you are interested in Spirituality, meditation, breathwork, or psychedelic therapy, I can share a lot of information with you. If you are not already red-pilled then you might come out as so.

I am happy to also share the basics of cooking, photo editing, photography, self-healing and some deeper esoteric knowledge if you are into that.

Please be reminded that you are expected to work. Thank you!

IF YOU READ MY PROFILE, PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR INTRODUCTION MESSAGE: "Work Hard, Play Hard"

    • Green house: repair the greenhouse structure, help me put up mosquito netting, arranging space inside
    • Install three solar panels: I have the solar panels, need help installing them!
    • Installing my generator. No idea how.
    • Build a water collection system: I can order the materials needed for this. Would love to get this setup before next rainy season (May 2025).

    • Apocathery: Helping me plant all these herb seeds and plan an apocathery space.
    • Beekeeping: There are bees living in my porch...
    • Walking labyrinth: Build a walking labyrinth out of bamboo or stones
    • Duck Pond
    • Kitchen storage shelves

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    • Guest room with a twin sized bed and a cot, sleeps two.

    OR

    • Cot can be moved into the living room for a semi-private space (curtain dividers), creating one private bedroom and a semi-private room.

    • There is also a hammock on my porch outside. I also have a 2-person hammock that is not set up yet.
    • Room for many tents / camper vans on the property!
    • Full bathroom, functioning toilet, shower etc. No hot water. But then again, the water is never cold here.
    • And a stunning view of sunset over an island and the ocean....

Food: Meals are provided in exchange for full time work hours, 4-6 hours per day, 5 days a week.

Note: This is not a vegan / vegetarian household. Meat will be cooked, and served to guests. Animals you see or feed may be slaughtered humanely (this is 3rd world country after all).

Note: Dinner dish duty will be on rotation, everyone must contribute to wash dinner dishes! No one goes two nights in a row.

If you are a vegan it WILL BE DIFFICULT for you here because there is no readily available tofu or tempeh in my town, we would have to pick it up in bulk on our supply runs twice monthly and freeze the tofu for your daily meals. Your starchy options are rice and noodles.

Vegetarians: You have eggs and many cheese options we can buy from the Italian deli in the maintown on supply runs! There are veggies and a bakery in town.

    --
𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭! I reserve the right to ask you to leave my property AT ANY TIME if I feel you are unsafe or we are not a good fit. I have as of yet, never had to do this. Please don't be the first out of more than a dozen workaways.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Lots of beautiful, empty wild beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, mountain hikes, secret river spots, jumping off bridges into water, long walks, bonfires, and a shuttle (Q-Van) that goes into the main town multiple times a day. There's one main town bar for live music and events on weekends, but i'm not a drinker!

Let's build our own cool hangout space and a firepit and have tea ceremonies ;)

Nearest beach is a 5 min drive away and is always empty.
Nearest waterfall is 15 mins away.

I have a pick-up truck that we can use (if you want to use it, my rule is to please replenish the gasoline after).
Also you may use our ATV (which goes 60KM/H!) That's also up for grabs, same rule applies.
Best if you rent a motorbike if you wanna be super mobile while you're here!

Keep in mind I live 1 hour from the Main Town proper, so there's little to no nightlife here.

I am NOT a drinker. Alcohol is my least favorite choice. I will not drink alcohol with you most likely.

And of course, plentiful intellectual conversations to be had!
