Description
𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘: MAYBE April, still under renovations.
Hello workawayer!
My name is Claire. I am a Filipino-American woman, former host/surfer, world traveler, audiophile, psychonaut, rebellious, sovereign Earthling with cosmic roots. 👽
I just finished building four bungalows that will soon be a backpacker hostel. Currently it is missing a few amenities inside (like light fixtures, mattresses) so we are not ready to open quite yet. Also need to hook up electricity and water.
However there are many white walls and I am looking for some visionary artists to work their magic and fill the rooms and bathroom walls up with visionary art to inspire guests! If you are looking to fill this visionary painter position, please write the word, "Vision" in the subject line of your introduction message and include your portfolio in the message.
Also looking for a photographer/videographer/drone operator or writer who wishes to help me with content!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
My family is from this island. My mom was born here, and I am 100% Filipino.
You will learn how to be self-sufficient. How to move towards off-grid living. You will learn how to be humble and live simply. You will remember the significance of hard work and the reward of giving back to the land.
If you are interested in Spirituality, meditation, breathwork, or psychedelic therapy, I can share a lot of information with you. If you are not already red-pilled then you might come out as so.
I am happy to also share the basics of cooking, photo editing, photography, self-healing and some deeper esoteric knowledge if you are into that.
Please be reminded that you are expected to help. Thank you!
IF YOU READ MY PROFILE, PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR INTRODUCTION MESSAGE: "Work Hard, Play Hard" I will not accept you if you do not include this. Thank you!Help
You are expected to work here and be a mature adult who is self-aware!
Things we need help with now:
PRIORITY:
• Building a garden fence.
• Building an outdoor kitchen area with reclaimed wood
• Mural painting (Please include the word "visionary" in the subject line of your intro message if you are looking to paint and include your portfolio).
• Pruning/fertilizing all the fruit trees
• Build a water collection system: I can order the materials needed for this. Would love to get this setup before next rainy season (May 2025).
NOT PRIORITY:
• Building a Bonfire pit
• Building an outdoor clay pizza oven
• Video editing/social media marketing/posting. Building a brand online.
• Built a yurt or teepee.
• Apothecary: Helping me plant all these herb seeds and plan an apothecary space.
• Beekeeping: There are bees living in my porch...
• Walking labyrinth: Build a walking labyrinth out of bamboo or stones
• Whatever your heart and mind desires!
I will not ask you to provide help with serving food or drinks to paying customers.
Please note: You and I are consenting to a "workaway" exchange, so I do have expectations of you as a guest, however I want to work with your strengths and create that work/play balance that feels fulfilling, meaningful and helpful for both parties.
In exchange for free housing, you must showcase effort and initiative.
You must provide your own medical insurance / travel insurance. You are responsible for paying any fees or bills related to medical expenses incurred during your stay.
D̲O̲ ̲N̲O̲T̲ message me if you have intentions to "hook up" or expect a s-xual connection.
D̲O̲ ̲N̲O̲T̲ message me if you are just trying to find a free place to stay & not contribute to the land/projects/community. You will be asked to move onward.Languages spoken

Accommodation
Single bed in a 4-bed bunk dormitory room.
Tent space on premises. We unfortunately broke all the tents last year! So you have to bring your own.
Can sleep on a hammock but you have to bring your own mosquito net.
PLEASE READ: I am still in the process of connecting electricity and water to the bungalows that volunteers would stay in so as of now, March 2025, I can't accept more than 1 or 2 volunteers. Until we have an outdoor kitchen built near the bungalows, it already is crowded with 3 or 4 people to share my kitchen space. Perhaps by end of April there will be a second kitchen and all the bungalows will be hooked up and fully functional.
I currently am hosting 1 volunteer and potentially open for a second one depending. PRIORITY goes to volunteers with carpentry or building skills and photos to show for it. I am looking for a third person to help with carpentry tasks! If that's you please write "BUILD" in the subject line.
Food: Meals are provided in exchange for full time work hours, 4-5 hours per day, 5 days a week.
Note: This is not a vegan / vegetarian household. Meat will be cooked, and served to guests. Animals you see or feed may be slaughtered humanely (this is 3rd world country after all).
Note: Dinner dish duty will be on rotation, everyone must contribute to wash dinner dishes! No one goes two nights in a row.
If you are a vegan it WILL BE DIFFICULT for you here because there is no readily available tofu or tempeh in my town, we would have to pick it up in bulk on our supply runs twice monthly and freeze the tofu for your daily meals. Your starchy options are rice and noodles.
Vegetarians: You have eggs and many cheese options we can buy from the Italian deli in the main town on supply runs! There are veggies and a bakery in town.

𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭! I reserve the right to ask you to leave my property AT ANY TIME if I feel you are unsafe or we are not a good fit. I have as of yet, never had to do this. Please don't be the first out of more than a dozen workaways. What else ...
Lots of beautiful, empty wild beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, mountain hikes, secret river spots, jumping off bridges into water, long walks, bonfires, and a shuttle (Q-Van) that goes into the main town multiple times a day. There's one main town bar for live music and events on weekends, but i'm not a drinker!
Let's build our own cool hangout space and a firepit and have tea ceremonies ;)
Nearest beach is a 5 min drive away and is always empty.
Nearest waterfall is 15 mins away.
Also you may use our ATV (which goes 60KM/H!) That's also up for grabs, same rule applies.
Best if you rent a motorbike if you wanna be super mobile while you're here!
Keep in mind I live 1 hour from the Main Town proper, so there's little to no nightlife here.
I am NOT a drinker. Alcohol is my least favorite choice. I will not drink alcohol with you most likely.
And of course, plentiful intellectual conversations to be had!A little more information
