Description
We are loving Workaway and meeting some amazing people and had a few repeats. Message us and we’ll see if we can accommodate you - we’d love to meet you!
We have our next availability through beginning of March.
We live on a small rural property close to a town on the outer part of Auckland. We can offer a country lifestyle experience for some assistance in small outside projects, planting native plants, general gardening and a variety maintenance around the home and property. In return we’ll provide accommodation with a range of facilities including gym and pool and be happy to give you an authentic cultural experience. Guests should be LGBT friendly. Our home consists of an extended family with three generations and a unique blend of 4 cultures being very reflective of New Zealand’s diverse cultural mix. We’d love to host you as part of our family for a time and add to your travelling experience.
Please note we can’t cater to specific dietary requirements unless minimal as it becomes too much work.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We offer a cultural mix of 4 cultures in one home plus insight to extended family living. There is a mix of NZ European, Samoan, Tongan and Fijian in our home so we can provide insights into each of these cultures. We have a range of interests and community connections and are happy to help facilitate connection with a range of experiences. As avid travellers we seek the opportunity to share our culture and lives with you in return for learning about yours from you. We are an open book of you’d like to ask any questions. This is a very eclectic home where we are corporate workers by day and run an entertainment business in our time along with maintaining our home and land so a little help is always welcome.

Help
We’d like some help with a variety of outdoor tasks including lawns, gardens, spraying, landscaping or indoor maintenance like sorting, painting, cleaning etc or. Based on whatever skills and experience you have we’ll be bound to find something you can help with . We are working to restore our land with Native plants and conserve the wetlands and waterways we have around the property which is an ongoing labour of love.

We loved his laid back style and were intrigued with his mainstay job in Yoga.
It was great to see someone using the gym space in a different way.
He was a hard worker and easy to get along with and would recommend him.

I couldn't fault his work ethic and there were instances of Melvin deciding to pitch in and do extra tasks along the way (thanks for the clean fridge).
