    Description

We are a pretty colourful bunch of nice people composed of an austrian and a middle east family and long standing international friends. Actually living here permanently: Feri (1982), Lise (1975) and the children Layla (2013) and Aisha (2015) and other family members are coming regularly to see us to enjoy the time together and preparing a mix of delicious oriental-european-food! Same as a lot of different visitors (friends, helpers, family) from all over the world are enjoying this place of meeting and exchange.

    About the place:
We live on a beautiful 150-year-old historic estate at the foof of the alps. After a personal loss in the family last year, we are currently focusing on preparíng all for the spring and summer to welcome all our friends and family . This is our private home, and we enjoy sharing the peaceful atmosphere with people who love history and nature.

We invite you to stay with us and participate in our daily life. Come into our private household, and we appreciate a helping hand with all of our daily life and our hobby projects:
Help us with our small veggie and herb garden, flower beds, and more. In and around the house we could need a helping hand with cooking, cleaning, sorting , brooming etc. We are currently making the spring cleaning after a long hard winter to make the place cozy for our family and guests.

    What’s It For You?
Authentic Living: Experience an AustrianOrientalLifestyle in a historic setting, surrounded by mountains, a lot of green, a beautyful river and pure nature.
Enjoy a combination of EuropeanMiddleEasternFood and language exchange with our family.
Our old big pool and the nearby mountains (Rax/Schneeberg/Semmering) are perfect for relaxing after a day of shared activities.

We have some pets, like: dogs, cats and Max and Moritz our 2 old mini goats.
Our neighbours have a lot of different animals, that you can visit: horses, chicken, sheep etc.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You will experience a unique bridge between two worlds: the traditional, rustic life in the Austrian Alps and the warm, welcoming hospitality of Middle Eastern culture. We are a multicultural family, and our home is a place where different perspectives and stories meet.

Sustainable Living & Gardening: Learn how to maintain a garden in a mountain climate and understand the basics of landscape conservation.

Culinary Exchange: We love to cook! You can learn how to make traditional Austrian dishes or dive into the secrets of Oriental spices and recipes.

But there is more ......We are in a protected water spring area. You can get a look in the natural springs system and how the water is collected here to flow directly to Vienna City. If you’re interested, there are lot of interesting infos about the nature around us and how eg this fresh spring water system ist connected to the big city.

It’s the perfect place to breathe the fresh air, and see where some of the best drinking water in the world comes from!

Beyond the house, you will learn about the local rhythm of life in the Rax/Schneeberg/Semmering area, including hiking tips and discovering hidden spots in the forests.

For us, the exchange is a two-way street. We want to learn from our guests as much as they learn from us, creating memories through shared meals and conversations.

We really love sharing what we know about our veggies and fruits—we can chat about them for hours and then turn everything into a delicious meal together. Additionally we have 3 bee hieves and love to show you the way of the life of the honey bees - incl. tasting the amazing mountain honey. And if you’re into herbs and nature, we love talking about all the green stuff growing around here and just enjoying it straight from the source.

It’s all about good food, nature, animals and great company. Can’t wait to share it with you!
