Manon was a wonderful volunteer and a truly lovely person to have around. She stayed with us for a long time and was always calm, reliable, hardworking, and kind. She helped the team a lot and brought a very nice energy to the hostel. Her sweet personality and lovely attitude made her even more memorable. We would happily welcome her back anytime and highly recommend her to any host.

I had a wonderful time on Penghu, joining Ted, Shao Mei and Kaylen on the family house/farm !
Ted is very relaxed, nice and one-minded and I really enjoyed the time we spend working together or chatting. I also loved the easy commute and having the old house for myself in the village. The work is interesting and not too intense. I got a chance to learn more about farming and DIY house projects, which are very useful skills to have !
Shao Mei is a wonderful cook and I really enjoyed the meals we got to enjoyed together during the lunch breaks.
The bars nights were also fun and I was happy to get to meet others travelers and French settled on the island. Who knew Penghu got some many French people !
I will also miss Charlie and Pepper, the cutest (and naughtiest sometimes ^^) dogs on Penghu.
I hope we get to meet again !
Cheers
Gaby

The piece of land is pretty, it was my first time seeing Kangeroos in Australia. We did lots of gardening (mindful practice) and maintaining the house (as it rained several days), small tasks and tending to the chickens & ducks. Alina gave ideas on which places to visit on days off (for example the local saturday market is fun!) We didn’t own a car so we discovered by bike, foot and some drives from Alina & Bev. If you're into learning Mahjong, Bev might be willing to teach you. They are sweet hosts, it was great to hear Alina speak about (plant)medicine, I would have loved learning more -and in general talk more to her, about that. The animals are a lovely addition as well, their kitten Misty is adorable.

We spent the last 3 months staying with Nick and honestly, it was the best Workaway experience we could have asked for. From the very beginning, he made us feel welcome and comfortable. The work was always fair and enjoyable, and he never expected too much from us.
What we appreciated most was how supportive, generous, and flexible he was during our stay. Whenever we had any problems or needed help, he was always there for us. During our stay, our car unfortunately broke down, which was the reason why we decided to travel for 2 weeks. Nick helped us as much as he possibly could during that time and was incredibly understanding about the situation. He even let us leave all of our belongings at the house while we were away, which helped us a lot and showed how trusting and kind he is.
Since only accommodation is provided and everyone has to organize their own food, having a car is definitely essential here. The nearest town, Maleny, is about 30 minutes away, but even after our car broke down, Nick regularly drove us there so we could buy groceries and manage everything we needed. He also helped us find paid work during our stay, which we really appreciated.
Nick was always very understanding and really tried to adapt to our wishes and needs. The accommodation was more than enough for both of us, and the beautiful forest surroundings made it a perfect place for relaxing walks and enjoying nature.
We truly had an amazing time here and can highly recommend staying with Nick to any future Workawayers. Thank you again for everything!

I had a beautiful time at Clare's ☀️From the moment I arrived, she welcomed me into her home so warmly, and we instantly connected. Her property is full of greenery and peaceful energy, it's easy to feel at home here!
During my stay, I helped with gardening tasks like weeding and mulching, dog sitting the lovely Lucy, as well as assisting during the events held on the property. My main project, however, was creating a mural for the Yoga Shed. It has been incredible to be able to share my art and create something special for such a wonderful space!
What I appreciated most was the opportunity to experience everyday life like a local while sharing genuine moments, conversations, and daily life together. This volunteering experience was exactly what I had been hoping for (even better!!), and I’m so grateful our paths crossed!
Thank you so much for everything Clare, I wish you all the best 💛✨

I stayed with Annet and Ton quite spontaneously for just one week. They have a lovely garden, where I spent most of my time. I usually worked on my own in the mornings for about five hours and a little more in the afternoons when they came back from work.
I shoveled and moved large amounts of sand and soil, replanted little trees, sowed seeds, took care of the chickens, and helped prepare dinner. My personal highlight was harvesting asparagus :) I learned a lot about gardening and practical outdoor work during my stay, which I really appreciated.
They were very welcoming and always included me in their activities often inviting me to come along. One evening, I joined them for a winter garden concert in their neighborhood, which I enjoyed a lot and I also cycled with them to Nijmegen.
Even though the house is located in a beautiful rural area close to a lovely forest, the public transport connections are quite good. I was also able to borrow a bike, which made getting around very easy and enjoyable.

Our experience with Yume was truly wonderful. Yume is a nice girl, sensitive and helpful to everyone, playful and attentive to Vito (almost like an older sister), and has a great sense of duty, but also of balance within herself, which is truly commendable. With her, we learned how to cook rice perfectly and how to make a delicious miso soup, which we both love. She helped us in the garden and around the house, instilling in us the proverbial Japanese sense of essentiality, order, and making room for unnecessary things in the home and in our minds. We wish her the best for her future!

We had great times together with Maxi and Chris. They stayed with us only for 10 days, but after that we become friends forever.
They are really a power couple. Always helpful whenever we needed. We did some garden work and many little chores of farm together. Also enjoyed together so much free time with this lovely couple.
I definitely recommend them to all other workaway hosts

We had an amazing 5 weeks here.
It’s hard to put into words, but this was truly the best Workaway experience we’ve ever had.
The atmosphere was wonderful, and all the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming.
Steve and Neeru treated us like family, and we are so grateful for their kindness and support. Ramita was also very kind to us and treated us really well.
We also had a very comfortable place to stay.
We will never forget the mornings we woke up here to the sound of birds singing.
For us, after being on the road for a while and wanting to do something more meaningful than just traveling like tourists, there was always plenty of work to do here.
If we could, we would have stayed for a few more months.
Thank you for everything — we truly hope to come back and see everyone again someday.

Kim and Pete were amazing hosts! It was our first Workaway experience and they make us feel comfortable from day one. We didn’t have a lot of experience with horses/donkeys but we learnt a lot and really enjoyed it. Kim is really patient and kind and her instructions about the different tasks are really clear.
She is also really caring, she drove us a few times into town and brought us to horse riding.
The animals are well taken care of and really cute.
This is a perfect place to be surrounded by nature and nice people:)

After all this time, Leila has truly become one of us.
She dedicated more than a year of her life to our farm, working first as a volunteer and then as an employee. Her commitment and hard work have been truly inspiring. Saying goodbye will not be easy for any of us.
We know our paths will cross again. Until then, please feel free to welcome her with open arms wherever you are.

It was a delight to host Pia and Quirin on our farm.
They approached every task enthusiastically and with the greatest of care.
We found them to be self-motivated, good communicators, and dedicated to the work.
I would say they went over and above expectations.
In addition their cheerful and positive manner made them excellent company.
I would highly recomment them to anyone needing help for their projects.

Roshanak and Hadi were with us for five days but in reality less as that included travel. They worked hard, cooked us two excellent Iranian meals but most importantly were gentle, sensitive and charming company, with smiles that never left their faces. It was their first Workaway experience and anybody else whom they choose to visit will be very lucky. Best wishes to you both, it was a privilege to host you.

I spent 4 wonderful weeks volunteering at this school in Chiti and it was truly an unforgettable experience, especially meaningful as my very first Workaway.
Shamser is doing an incredible job running this project. You can immediately feel the care and dedication he puts into everything. The children are always smiling and genuinely happy to be at school, which says a lot about the environment he has created. The rest of the staff is equally wonderful. Chiti is a very small village, but the community is warm and welcoming. I always felt included and part of something real.
I’m really grateful for the time I’ve spent here and I’ll definitely want to come back in the future 🌻

Cam and Bill are kind and funny people with a lot of life experience. They make you feel like part of a family from the very beginning and enjoy sharing their stories, experiences and skills with others.
From the many stories they tell about former volunteers, you can see how much they enjoy having people around and creating a welcoming, social environment.
Every evening, someone different cooks for the group and everyone is coming together for dinner and interesting conversations. It’s a great opportunity to share/ improve your own cooking skills as well as learn new recipes and dishes from each other.
In your free time, you can explore the surrounding area and enjoy the beautiful nature. There are many beautiful beaches and lovely small towns nearby that are worth visiting. Living here also gives you the chance to experience a peaceful and quiet lifestyle close to nature.
During your stay, you can learn many new things, so it helps to be open-minded and willing to try a variety of tasks and activities.
If you enjoy cultural exchange, want to learn more about living close to nature and are not afraid of hands-on work and caring for animals, this is a wonderful place to have that experience.

It was great having Valentina volunteer with us. She was considerate & calm and got on well with our family and the other workawayers of a broad age range, and she will thrive in a warm and friendly environment. She cooked some delicious meals for us and appreciatively ate what was prepared for her. She is a hard worker with good attention to detail, follows instructions diligently and is a quick learner. We can't recommend Valentina highly enough. If you get a chance to host her, grab it with both hands.
