    Description

We are a friendly, semi-retired couple who require some help on our organic hobby farm. Our setup is ideal for a couple but a single person works well too. We ask that each person does 10 hours of work a week in exchange for caravan accommodation.

The feedback we have had from most helpers is how much they have liked the relaxed, friendly vibe.

We love spending time with workers on our property, inviting them for meals every week and generally working or hanging out together. But we're fine if people would prefer to be more separate. We would ideally like people who are passionate about horticulture and/or willing to learn about permaculture and organic farming.

Work on the farm will involve planting, weeding, mulching, mowing, and fruit and vegetable harvesting. Helpers will be exposed to the techniques of landscape process observation, intensive organic vegetable cultivation and orchard management, green manuring and crop rotation, rainforest regeneration and plant propagation.

We have views over 200 acres of rolling green hillside, which has an abundance of birdlife.
Our 7 acre farm includes a mixed orchard, an intensive market garden, pasture and a rainforest revegetation project. We have about an acre of the land devoted to intensive production of organic vegetables, with produce sold from a roadside stall at the front of the property at certain times of the year.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are interested in spending time with people from other cultures and have had many workers from different cultural backgrounds where we have shared many meals - either cooked by us or by our guests. Myrna is a passionate cook and has shared some wonderful cooking experiences with helpers.
