It is now three weeks since Carine moved on to another adventure. It took me so long to write a review since it is much more difficult writing about the exceptional humans I encounter in our stream of helpers. What a privilege we have meeting repeatedly extraordinary individuals. Carina sticks out of the crowd. We instantly connected and knew one another as if we had lived together for a long time. Working through her break with the medical profession Carina did not miss a Sauna session for talks and relaxation. Twice a week she took up the offer of a deep massage to loosen the tensions in her muscles which had accumulated during her professional career she now had left behind. And there is the other, the practical side of this woman: She knows how to run a tidy household and without being told sees what is necessary and just does it without fuss. It saved us a lot of work compared to cleaning after the younger helpers who just have not learned what is necessary yet. What Carina did in the garden was always thorough and efficient and our animals were well looked after in her care. Carina lived with us for 8 and then 5 weeks. We could have enjoyed her many more weeks. Carina is welcome to come back and live with us any time. If she comes your way you are lucky. Love Bernward

I came for a month, but left after 5 days . My experience at the finca was disappointing. Positive aspects: it's a beautiful place, amazing landscape and nature. The hosts were very welcoming to me, and the vibe was good between guests, hosts and volunteers. Negative aspects: As a volunteer you get less food, than the guests, but also less food than the owners ( which serves themselves bigger plates and /or more meat/sauce/veggies ). This also applies during week-ends when you pay 50k a day for food. The plate serving generally being relatively small ( for the volunteers only ), I asked twice during my stay for more food during the meal but there wasnt more. I generally felt hungry few hours my meals. One day the owner's partner served herself an entire fried fish along with the guests, while we didn't get any animal protein. I decided to go talk about it with the owner. Although at first he denied to get nicer plates, saying I got wrong impressions ( his partner would actually name for whom each plate was destined before serving them ), he then said that it was normal that he and his partner would get better servings since they were the owner of the place, and us volunteers. I was shocked by this statement, as we should not be left hungry while working 25h a week. He told me that is I was still hungry, I could get a banana. I told him about the fact that we pay for the food in the week-end, he replied (trying to gaslight me) that this money was also covering the electricity ( which we didn't get in our house), and internet. I said that I was okay with only more rice or lentils, I just didn't wanted to be hungry, he replied that he understood, but didn't said he agreed. At the end, I was told that me feeling uncomfortable was putting them uncomfortable, and that they didn't wanted to have an uncomfortable vibe in their house, and so that if I was to feel uncomfortable longer it was maybe better for me to leave their place the next day. I left by the morning.

I stayed with Daniel, Elise, Robert, and Jenny for three weeks in January, and for a first workaway experience it genuinely couldn't have been any better. Immediately from the start they were all welcoming and friendly. I felt like I was part of the family from the start. The tasks were reasonable and expectations were well communicated.I enjoyed chatting and spending time with Daniel and Elise and had great fun playing board games and online games with Robert and Jenny. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and will look back on my experience fondly. I hope to see you all again at some point! Tusen takk!

Pablo has been an outstanding volunteer, we appreciate all of his efforts on a variety of projects, his specific knowledge of trail building and willingness to put in the physical effort to build things and work outside on our steep property in hot weather while maintaining a positive and playful attitude have been a very welcome addition to our team. Pablo gets along well with the other volunteers, is very respectful and proactive about finding and doing things that will help to improve the property for himself and all others who will visit after him. His time spent here will certainly leave a lasting impression.

I had an amazing time staying at Fran's house and looking after Coco and Amber. The house is lovely and located in a really beautiful place with great views from the veranda. Fran was very hospitable and even invited me to join in on one of her painting classes, which was great fun. Both Coco and Amber are the sweetest and I will miss hanging out with them. This was a great first Workaway experience for me.

Words are difficult to describe the amazingly warm and beautiful experiance me and my partner had with Francisca and her family. Fransisca is a deeply inspirational woman. The conversations we had gave me new perspectives on life. The energy she carries around is so warm, inviting, friendly. As a host she's been very caring and we absolutely loved working on her land. We had the beautiful opportunity to do a lot of blueberry and framboise picking. The land Francisca has, provided a space full of nourisment, rest and re-energising. It was an honor to be welcomed in her family.

I had a wonderful four weeks at the ranch. I watched the children in the morning, they are super sweet and well-behaved. In the afternoons, I was able to participate in activities, which were always a lot of fun. The landscape is incredible, as well as the food and the people your going to meet there. Thanks for the lovely time!!

Where to start! Our stay at Liana's beautiful home in Lorinna was during an unusually busy time for Liana and her son Meka, so probably would not be the usual experience of Workawayers here: Asep was away too so we sadly didn't have the pleasure to meet him. Liana's commitment to local and regenerative culture is amazing. It was so wonderful to share this for the two weeks we were there, with delicious meals and bi-weekly visits to the co-op which is a hub for activity in the valley. My daughter had a great time getting to know the local kids, and by the end was running free with them despite some initial shyness. Our tasks were primarily house based, involved some deep cleaning, some cooking (I had not used a wood cooker before so that was an exciting opportunity), repair of some items and quite a bit of sewing once Liana saw that was a core skill of mine (not sure if I even had it on my skills list!) We also did thistle grubbing, wood & kindling prep, weeding and straw raking. My daughter enjoyed helping with the guinea pigs too! We had the company of another workawayer, Aqil, during the second week, which made for more social time on some days. Lorinna is a stunning valley and swimming in the lake on the warmer days a highlight. Attending local yoga class was also fantastic. We found the community friendly and welcoming, and look forward to returning. Thankyou so much Liana, for your guidance and care, especially given the time constraints you had during our stay.

Finally here goes my feedback! Kerron was the best host to introduce me to India, I was hesitating whether or not to make my trip to India, I had bought the flight and wanted to go on the adventure, but being my first trip to Asia, and after hearing some comments, I began to doubt if it was not too bold on my part.... I started talking to him, and he convinced me that it was worth going to his country, and that he would show me his day-to-day, his hospitality and his culture And so it was: he helped me with trains and mobility, introduced me to the world of university, also of social cooperation, met women workers from rural areas, ceremonial acts, in which I had never thought I would participate, contact with students and teachers from different campuses, introduced me to the world of yoga, with a local teacher and great wisdom that opened the doors of his house and terrace, where we gave class every morning, introduced me to the world of Ayurveda, at one of the best universities in Aurangabad, giving me the opportunity to meet Dr. Barhate and learn from his knowledge. And not to mention the great experience that was travel with them to Kumbh mela, experience that I will never forget..... Kerron and his wife, Raj, opened their house for me and did everything to make me feel at home ..... and introduced me to the neighborhood, the little ones were waiting for me to give them Spanish lessons, I enjoyed with them too... Raj was like a sister during those weeks, I could see her brightness and energy, we cooked together, listened to music, told me about her projects.... and she ride me with her bike around city ... thanks Raj, you’re a very pretty soul Kabir, the son of Kerron, was so kind with me, always had a smile, and patiently explained to me their traditions and customs, thanks Kabir, do not change! I can’t believe everything I did with them and the experience they brought to my life Thanks Kerron, if you had not convinced me that I should travel to india, I would have missed a lot, you are a person of firm ideals and with great inner strength, thank you for everything you showed me, it was a pleasure

What can I say but a big Thank you to everyone: specially Adriana AND clebe. If it had not been for my partners, the special team we had among the work awayers and the warmth of the hosts, this work away would have been very different. The place is amazing, setiba is very quiet and there is not much to do. For someone who is looking for a cultural exchange, AND bars,it's can be a bit challenging. Yet in my case it was perfect. Work was well organiz Ed and I tried to contribute as much as possible. I rented a bycycle AND had fun. We laughed a Lot. Thank you.i consider them friends.

Annemiek is a fantastic Workawayer. She is extremely hard working, capable, structured, chilled, fun, helpful, interesting, intelligent and very kind. Annemiek painted, plastered walls, cleaned and looked after the plants. She’s a great cook, always washes the dishes (thank-you!) and always cleaned up during and after herself. We had some great nights out watching local live music, and she enjoyed hiking and cycling round the area. Thanks for all you hard work Annemiek, my house looks new again!

We had a beautiful week and a half with Vova! He's very helpful with everything that comes up and handy even with tasks he's never done before (like tiling a bathroom and a kitchen) He played a lot with our two kids as well, which we are very grateful about! They loved his company and could improve their Italian! Thanks so much for this nice experience!

Staying here was truly such a gift. On a journey of over 30 000km in my car, this was truly one of my best experiences. I felt such kindness and warmth here, the sweetest animals and people, and in a short time I gained so much inspiration for my own project which is the purpose of my journey through Spain as I look for land, I dont think I could have found more kindness! For a truly authentic, down to Earth experience and people that put their heart into what they do, I really recommend coming here! It was a little feeling of family on an often lonely road. Thank you so so much, I can't wait to meet again! a big big hug

It all started and ended with making granola! I stayed nearly 3 weeks with Micè, and what a lovely and beautiful house! My organisation and tidying-up skills were needed to make this house even more beautiful. I loved the energy there and the heartwarming welcome. Micè is a lovely host and an inspiration, and there’s a lot of fun. Even though we were completely different in some aspects, we managed to work well together and achieved great things. I am proud to be the first Austrian she hosted and wish her all the best!
