Description
Hey dear friends,
we are Till and Tzegha and our two sons Luam (11) and Amit (10). We have been living on Sardinia for more than four years and decided two years ago to go one step further in our vision and start building our own off-grid homestead and hopefully the first stone of a thriving local neighborhood community.
Last year we moved to a beautiful piece of land in the north-east of Sardinia in the area called Gallura, which we are about to transform into a permaculture place and a little seminar centre in the coming years. We also wish to become one of the first homesteads of a growing local network of international people and families to build a loose local community here in the hills. We are surrounded by beautiful old cork forests and bizarre granit rock formations. It is a silent and still very natural area, yet not far to beautiful beaches and nice cities like Tempio Pausania and Olbia
Currently we are in the process of finishing our clay built Tinyhouse, that will soon become our family home. (now we are still living in a caravan) So in the next few months we can use some help and experienced hands in the building process.
Next to that, we are planing to restyle our veggie field and transform it into a multifunctional food growing area with highbeds, some terasses, trees, a little greenhouse and whichever other beautiful ideas will still come.
Another project for the coming time is to finish building our volunteer area, which already includes an outdoor kitchen and a second compost toilet. We will soon also build some roofs and bamboo walls for our guest caravans.
We have different options to host you. We have several caravans, a tent and of course, you can come and stay in your own camper or tent on our land. Please note that we are still in the early stages of our project, thus the existing infrastructure is still very basic (Community outdoor kitchen, compost toilet and a simple, but usually warm outdoor shower).
After having hosted quite a few volunteers it is important for us to mention that we ask you to only come when you feel self motivated and willing to participate in a pioneer phase which can be quite demanding in many ways. Also be responsible for your own mental and physical health. Please tell us beforehand if you have any psychological or physical challenges so we can ensure a good and safe stay.
Many kind regards and maybe see you soon!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are an intercultural Family from Germany and Eritrea with two wonderful homeschooled young boys. We have a lot of experience in free learning and love to live a free live in general.
We thrive in international contexts and love to have volunteers and guests from all parts of the world. Just recently we sat around our garden table with people from five continents - just beautiful!
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
We need help with setting up the infrastructure on our off grid homestead. Currently we are in the finishing of a tiny clay house for our family and building a volunteer/ guest area with an outdoor-kitchen, several caravans, an outside shower and a compost toilet.
Next to that we will be reshaping and planting our summer veggie garden soon again, for which terraces and a little green house will need to be build.
There is also always work to do in our herbal fields, such as in the orchard and in the olive grove.

Our kids are very interested in improving their English and Italian skills with our volunteers.
Accommodation
We can provide you with a caravan and bedding.
Though for now it is still preferable if you are able to bring your own camper or tent, as we have still rather little accommodation spaces. Our place is still very basic but we have set up already a simple guest and volunteer infrastructure.
What else ...
By car, our place is an half an hour away from beautiful beaches, 5 minutes from the nice village of Luogosanto and 20 mintues from the ancient city of Tempio Pausania. Olbia with its ferry terminal and airport is 1 hour car drive away.
