My first workaway experience could have not been better than this. Pablo has been my host but more importantly, he is now a friend. I've been with him in Tigre for 6 days. Tasks involved different things, from cleaning the apartments, to some gardening, maintenance of the house. He always explained how and tooled me up to easily execute them. Besides spending time together, discussing all topics, kayaking, visiting the city, playing Truco, Pablo also gave me useful advices for the continuations of my trip. We'll meet again as soon as I feel confident enough to win you at Truco :) Ciao bello e grazie mille!

I had such an amazing experience with Guilia and Mateo’s family! They made me feel included, welcomed and comfortable from the first day. I am very lucky I found them because I think it's rare to land in such a happy family ! The kids are lovely, funny, lively and open minded. Always ready to teach me a new game or to talk in English with me. But the parents are truly the best part, I felt like we were friends! They shared their culture, story, habits and the Italian history with me. On top of AMAZING food everyday! They always took me to new places I needed to visit and did anything they could to improve my stay with them. Always encouraging me to discover the region, go on adventures during my free time as well as supporting me in my personal projects. I even got to meet the grand parents who didn't talk English but had no problem to show me their interest and love for me (bringing me food I need to try and showing me how to cook Italian meals from scratch)! The town of Fano is soooo cute, small streets next to the ocean but everything you need is right there and accessible by bike. In general one of my best experiences as an aupair, thanks to a beautiful family! Thanks a lot! Luna

Unfortunately I couldn't stay too long but in the short time I was there I got to meet her amazing friends and wonderful kids and do a lot of fun stuff. Tereza is a really kind, smart and emotionally intelligent and it was a pleasure to stay at her place

I'm so happy to have stayed these past two weeks at the farm with LeAnne and Ian, thank you both so much. It was the best introduction to New Zealand I could have asked for. Having the chance to explore the farm and Taranaki as a whole was amazing, and LeAnne and Ian made it possible. They are so kind and so generous with their accommodation, food, time, knowledge and much more. I appreciate all those drives to town and to the mountain to get me going on different adventures, and fixing up the mountain bike so that I could ride off on my own too. I kept being struck by how much care and support they gave to me on top of all their time and hard work dedicated to the farm. I'm so grateful and hope to visit again during my stay in NZ :)

Hello!! I’m a little bit late, but as they say in Spain “mas vale tarde que nunca” :) This was my very first Workaway experience, and it truly couldn’t have been better. It was even more amazing than I expected! From the very first day, I felt genuinely welcomed into their home and embraced as part of the family. Looking back, I realize that I arrived at exactly the right moment, it was the perfect match between what I was searching for and what they were offering. During my stay in autumn with Iona, Julien, Felix, and Fergus, I had the opportunity to discover new places, meet wonderful people, and immerse myself in a different way of living. I also got involved in many different kinds of work, each of which helped me grow and develop both personally and practically. They taught me so many valuable things (far more than I expected) and I couldn’t be more grateful for everything they shared with me: their time, their knowledge, their patience, and their kindness. They are truly a lovely family, and I will always look back on this experience with warmth and gratitude. It was a special chapter in my life that I will never forget.

Spending about one month with Ryan, Emma, and their children was truly an irreplaceable experience for our family. We are traveling the world as a family of four, and even among all the places we have stayed, the days we spent here were unbelievably joyful. The month passed by in what felt like no time at all. From the very first day, we could feel that they genuinely cared about our family. Their kindness was shown not only through words, but through thoughtful actions — lending us a car, being considerate about the workload, and always making sure we felt comfortable. We stayed in a beautiful and very clean cottage separate from the main house, with a comfortable kitchen, bathroom, living space, bedroom, smart TV, and reliable internet. It offered the perfect balance of privacy and connection, allowing us to relax and feel completely at home. Our work mainly involved weeding and DIY projects around the cottage, including building a parking area, creating an entrance porch, and painting. The workload was just right, and they gave clear instructions at the beginning while allowing us the independence to manage the tasks ourselves. Whenever we had questions, we could easily confirm things in person or via WhatsApp, so we never felt uncertain. Seeing the space transform — especially after painting — gave us a real sense of accomplishment. What made this stay especially meaningful was the relationship between our children and theirs. Their four children are truly wonderful, and watching them play together almost every day — laughing until the very last moment before bedtime — was something precious for us as parents. They taught our children cursive writing, learned some Japanese in return, played “Hide and Seek Tag,” built Lego creations, jumped on the trampoline, had sleepovers, and enjoyed temaki sushi and roasted marshmallows together. Every moment became a special memory. During this month, our children developed a strong sense of independence. They learned to communicate more confidently, to take initiative, and to interact thoughtfully with younger children. Even now, they already miss everyone and talk about wanting to see them again. We truly respect Ryan and Emma — not only as hosts, but as people and as parents. Their kindness, trust, and the way they value connection left a deep impression on us. We would highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys nature and hands-on DIY projects. Having your own car would be helpful, although we were very grateful to be able to borrow one during our stay. This month has become a priceless treasure for our family — and especially for our children. We are already looking forward to the day we can meet again. Thank you for such a beautiful and unforgettable time.

Magdalena was an absolute joy to have as part of our hostel team. From the very first day at reception, she brought a natural warmth and professionalism that made both guests and staff feel at ease. She confidently handled check-ins and check-outs, always organized and attentive to detail. Whether managing administrative tasks behind the scenes or providing clear and helpful information to travelers, Magdalena ensured everything ran smoothly. We could rely on her to stay calm during busy periods and to handle responsibilities with care and efficiency. What truly made Magdalena stand out was her positive, fun energy. She has a beautiful way of making guests feel genuinely welcome — not just processed through reception, but seen and appreciated. Her smile, kindness, and upbeat spirit created a wonderful atmosphere in the hostel and added to the overall guest experience. She connected easily with people from different backgrounds and cultures, which is such an important quality in a hostel environment. Guests felt comfortable approaching her with questions, and she always responded with patience and enthusiasm. Magdalena was responsible, trustworthy, and a true team player. She brought both heart and professionalism to her role, and we are incredibly grateful for the time she spent with us. We would happily welcome her back anytime and highly recommend her to any future host.

It was great to have Maxi here at my place. He has a very professional skill in carpenting as he claims, and he helped me a lot during renovation of the rooms. Without him, renovation would not have been completed. In fact, after he left, renovation of other rooms took so long as we didn't have him anymore. On top of his skill, he is a very social and cool person. He gets along with all other Workawayers, and everyone loved him. He left my place once to travel around Japan but came back later to help me further. I recommend Maxi to anyone who is looking for any type of help including DIY renovation and carpenting projects!

Thank you Erika and Zoli for this exchange! I very much enjoyed cat sit Cuki and Pocak, super cuddly and friendly, for 10 days 😊 I could see Budapest under the snow and then in the sun ! I stayed in their nice studio in the suburbs and I could even meet them at the end when they came back!

I stayed for six weeks (December 2025–January 2026) , and I loved every part of it. It was an experience like no other — one I truly believe is unique. From the very beginning, I felt comfortable. Not just feeling at home, but being at home, as Joseph likes to say. Mama Jesca, the catering manager and “Mama of the house,” made my stay especially special with her incredible cooking and warmth. The beds are comfortable, the house is clean, the neighbourhood is calm, and although the electricity sometimes goes out, you quickly get used to it. The NGO and its staff — small in size but huge in impact — make you feel that your work has purpose, and that you are choosing that purpose yourself. While being trusted to define your own projects can feel daunting at first, there is no shortage of meaningful work, and the team supports you every step of the way. The office, located in the southern part of Arusha in a built-up area, is both comfortable and social. You can always chat with Ruth or Veronica, work alongside fellow volunteers, and take a moment to breathe while enjoying the beautiful view of Mount Meru. If you are looking for a Workaway that will take you out of your comfort zone, allow you to immerse yourself in another culture, and make you feel genuinely needed and valued, this place is perfect for you. Thank you all for this experience. I will never forget it, and I hope to be back one day ❤️

Hosts should not be put off by the ages of Dora and Kurt. They worked harder and more conscientiously than many younger Workawayers we have had here! It was a pleasure to chat and learn about their culture too. They are welcome to return at any time and I recommend them highly to other hosts!

Great first workaway experience with host Clare. Clare is a lovely and strong woman. Her partner Tony is cool with a sense of humor. Her gardens are huge with lots of trees and flowers, so it takes a lot of effort to maintain. The tasks I did was mainly maintaining the garden such as clipping, mowing, and mulching. Also help in cleaning the house. In return, I got a nice bedroom to myself and good food. I was a bit hesitant to cook at first, but turns out my simple dishes are well received. This encourages me to want to share more of Malaysia dishes and it is quite fun although it takes effort to do. Lastly, something that maybe only I find exciting, I get to stargaze! Note from my experience, Clare will expect and push you so that you achieve desired outcome of assigned tasks quickly (no waste of time), because she does the same. I think she is a workaholic haha, this is not some place to slouch but you get to do that once the work hour for the day is done.

Denise and Betsy are the most wonderful hosts! During our week we helped in the garden, walked the two dogs, painted and cut down a good couple of shrubs! The work is great and the company is even better. These two will constantly make you laugh and have great recommendations for Queenstown and surrounding areas. Denise is an amazing cook and baker, we helped ourselves to a fair share of biscuits she made. Thank you, Denise and Betsy for making our week in queenstown memorable!

Karlee and Chris were such wonderful additions to our household. They decluttered, they cleaned, they gardened - Chris built a bridge which I use daily and gratefully, Karlee taught me to tow a trailer safely with such a kind and gentle manner.. they’re friendly, funny and interesting, they fit in so easily. Huge thanks to you both for all your help, and your terrific company.

Very glad I've chose to stay here for a month, I've had a lot of fun working with them. John, Laura and their son's families are very kind and well educated people, very easy to talk to and are willing to listen to your needs. They're familiar with the area and sometimes in their free time will drive you around to see some cool places. The house is clean and well equipped with everything you might need.

Signora Ika.. it's not easy at all describing everything I experienced with you. Hands down, you (workawayer) will quickly realize what amazing person is Ika and same her family and neighbors and all the people around her. But Ika is really pure Good. She takes you everywhere everyday and you eat all the best food and you have so much fun. That's a real cultural exchange, maybe one of the few you will experience through all the workaways. I have so many wonderful memories that I'd need a book to tell them all. If you really want to feel happiness, this is the place.

I spent three weeks with Caroline, Paul, and their children. My responsibilities included playing with the kids, driving them to and from school and various activities and practicing English with the oldest boy. The family is clearly very experienced in hosting Workawayers, which made daily life feel natural from the very beginning. I felt warmly welcomed and genuinely appreciated. It was a unique opportunity to get to know each family member individually and to learn more about the concept of unschooling. Caroline and Paul also made sure that I had enough time and space to relax. I had my own cozy room with a private bathroom, and the surrounding nature offered plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.

My stay with Mac was absolutely great! I stayed together with another girl and we got along great, she usually helped with cooking and I did some cleaning. Mac often took us surfing and hiking and both of us loved our stay here! Thanks again Mac for the amazing weeks.
