    Description

Hello! I live with my husband on the outskirts of Budapest, in a quiet neighborhood. Good public transport connections , it’s easy to reach the city center. We have a cozy house with a garden, which we share with our two lovely cats Cuki and Pocak. We mostly work from home, and enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors, and meeting people from different cultures. There’s always something to do around the house or in the garden, and we’re happy to host someone who enjoys simple, hands-on work and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

You’ll have the chance to enjoy a peaceful stay on the edge of Budapest, close to nature but with easy access to the city. You’ll get to experience local life, learn about Hungarian culture, and enjoy good conversations over home-cooked meals or coffee in the garden. It’s a calm, friendly environment — perfect if you like animals, gardening, or just spending time outdoors. You’ll also have time for yourself to explore Budapest, relax, or work on your own projects.

  • Help

    Help

We would love some help for about 1–2 hours a day with general house and garden tasks. We are still finishing some parts of the house, and the garden is also a work in progress. The work might include light cleaning, organizing, simple DIY tasks, or helping with planting and garden maintenance — nothing too heavy. We also appreciate someone who can be responsible and help take care of the cats and the house when needed. A positive attitude and care for animals and home are always welcome!

This host offers a language exchange
Our native language is Hungarian. I speak only a little English, but I understand the basics and always try my best to communicate — my husband speaks better English, so together we manage well. We’re happy to help you learn or practice some Hungarian if you’re interested!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You’ll stay in our hobby room, which has a separate entrance for your privacy. It’s a cozy space with a small kitchen area, a private bathroom, and even a washing machine. There is good Wi-Fi that works well all around the house and throughout the garden — which is about 100 meters long. The garden is a peaceful place to relax, read, or have a coffee.

Public transport to the city is very good, so it’s easy to reach the center of Budapest. We enjoy sharing meals and conversations, but you’ll also have your own space to relax and unwind.

Profile photo of Cuki and Pocak

    Cuki and Pocak (2 years)

We share our home with two lovely cats who are part of the family. One is a super cute 7-year-old who seems to sleep about 24 hours a day — the true master of relaxation! The other, smaller one is a real life artist and always in “hunter mode,” curious and full of energy. They’re both friendly and used to having guests around, and they love spending time in the garden.

A couple takes a selfie in front of a peaceful pond surrounded by lush green trees, enjoying a sunny day and each other's company outdoors.
