    Description

Our names are John and Laura, James and Liz and the 2 kids, Pam and Richard, Wayne and Snow, we live In OREWA AUCKLAND, in a Native Forest.

We would love help, as we are planting a new forest area. There are some other chores in the house, garden and forest - eg. strimming, spraying weeds . (We are also building A CABIN and 2 PAVILIONS. -If you have ANY !!!! WOOD WORKING skills) We ask our helpers for 4 hours' help for every night they stay, in exchange for accommodation and 3 meals a day. (We provide the food- you cook it in your kitchenette) We live on a hill where there is no public transport, so a car would be better for you. We could drop you off in Orewa Village to get the bus if need be. You are most welcome to stay about 2 weeks. Free Wifi is also available. You will have your own separate private cabin accommodation.

We are close to the beach, coffee shops and minutes from the highway North and to Auckland. The forest is beautiful and we are a friendly group of people living in a cooperative community.

Orewa is a very beautiful place with good beaches. There are lots of great hikes and walks in National parks close by. Also lots of shops and cafes. Our own forest is ancient and beautiful. You will find all the older people who live here are very kind. You will learn about forest conservation and the New Zealand lifestyle.

    What else ...

SWIMMING POOL, SPA POOL. Little FOREST WALK, BICYCLES, RESORT type grounds at Woofer cabin. We are on a hill so it is 2 km to the bus stop in Orewa village. Many nearby beaches. Okura Valley Hike. Wenderholme Park on beach. Shakespear Park on beach. Lots to see in Auckland! We also have another forest in Mangawahi, where we may go for a working- holiday for a few days. It's a great holiday place up there in the mountains.

Please- we expect some very hard and concentrated work from our Wwoofers- it's just 4 hours a day, then all the rest of the time is your own. Time off for 2 days every about 5 days. But probably not on Saturday and Sundays.
