Description
Hi!
We are a family of four: Iker, Patricia, and our two daughters (8 and 9 years old). We live in a countryside home with a large piece of land in Barrika, a stunning natural setting close to incredible beaches and well connected to Bilbao.
Iker works as a software architect and Patricia works as project manager in construction and interior design.
We love opening our home to people from different cultures. We see this exchange as a chance to learn from each other, discover new perspectives, and enrich our lives with stories and traditions from around the world.
We are in a extremelly busy time of our lives (workwise) and we are in need of a friendly hand to help us with gardening tasks, DIY projects..... At the same time we love the idea of giving us and our daughters the chance to meet people from different cultures and share our time and house with them.
We welcome traveling couples as we have had fantastic experiences with them but if you are traveling solo, you are independent and you think you are a fit you are more than welcome too!
Ps our profile picture is old, our girls are now 8 and 9 , we look even better 8 years later: Iker has got more hair and Patricia looks even more gorgeous and young hihihi ;) . Now serious: For some reason we haven t been able to change it and we also had to keep it also for popular demand: all our past workawayers love Libe´s 80s haircut and Joane funny looks :) . We have been asked to keep it forever.

We will make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible and of you don't have a mean of transport we will try to give you a lift whenever is possible. We will give you tips about our favourite secret places and will include you in our family plans when possible.
We have had beautiful experiences with people from Spain, Germany, England, US, India, Belgium... from 24 to 75 :) We would love to hear and learn from any other nationality . We are open , flexible and we love a good chat . We would include you in any family plans that arise if you are interested but we give you total freedom to explore the surroundings yourself by using our bikes if you don't have a mean of transport .

We love taking care of our land and improving our home with creative projects. We’d appreciate help with things like:
🌿 Gardening and caring for the land. We would love to share our experiences with you and hear from what you have learned in other workaway experiences.
🛠️ Collaborating on small DIY and home improvement projects.
🍽️ Sharing recipes and enjoying time in the kitchen.
🎭 Spending time with our daughters, playing, and—if English is your native language—helping them practice in a fun way.
If you think you are a fit, we’d love to learn from you and share experiences. The most important thing for us is that you come with initiative and enthusiasm to be part of our family for a while.
We have a cleaner once a week but we expect collaboration in maintaining the household clean and tidy.

Accommodation
We will be hosting workawayers in their own private spacious and beautiful room with a terrace watching over the trees and full equipped bathroom which will be shared with us occasionally.
You could use our kitchen to cook your own food (we will provide all the food basics) or share with us family dinners.
What else ...
We really recomend to visit the natural reserve of Urdaibai, coast villages as Lekeitio, mundaka and elantxobe.
The national park of Gorbea is a must and the urban San Sebastián and Bilbao too !
