Abrazo gigante "Good woman" 😉

Lovely experience. Miranda displayed great work ethic from day one. She is well travelled and offers the opportunity for many interesting conversations. As far as children she is a star, builds great rapport and great care, while still maintaining discipline. While she was here, she spent her extra/free time creating a beautiful garden. The avid multitasker, while our son was sleeping, she would get to work putting things away and cooking. Her cooking was incredible. Both tasty and healthy. Thanks so much for your time with us K :).

My experience with Ale was very nice! He helped me a lot with different things in the house. It was great that he could work on his own and in most cases knew hot to do it, I didn't even need to explain too much. He also gave me some ideas for things. He was very respectful and willing to help in the house. He also kept the place clean and tidy. He stayed a bit more than the agreed because we ended up doing more projects. I just wish we could have shared some more conversations about life in general... but maybe next time!!! Good luck, Ale, and thanks for everything!!

Oliver was our volunteer for the month of March. He has a really lovely energy and willing to chat with everyone around him. His tasks involved doing check-ins and check-outs and he also did housekeeping. He was really attentive and responsible. He was always ready to help with any tasks that we gave him. We really recommend Oliver to anyone who is looking for a volunteer in the future.

I feel so grateful for having spent 4 weeks at Kris’s ! Kris is a 6-star generous and caring host. I spent at first ~20 days and came back an extra week because I loved the place, the tasks and the warmful atmosphere of the Nelson village. I personally was there during colder weather and was mostly splitting/stacking wood. The accommodation was cosy, I felt super safe and comfy. If you like to work outside, being connected and surrounded by nature and wanna learn something about gardening/composting, this experience is top-tier. I also learned a lot about sobriety and sustainability. I truly appreciate all my discussions with Kris. She’s super smart, open minded and full of wisdom, I learned a lot from her ! Thanks again for everything 🙏 ps: I miss the cooked sweet potatoes in the oven stove !!

Having Joanne and Matthew was an absolute privilege. As highly experienced Workawayers, they brought a rare level of awareness and emotional intelligence, ensuring everyone felt included and happy. They are incredibly respectful guests, always keeping the house tidy and sharing their talents in the kitchen with delicious communal meals. On the work front, they were resourceful and proactive, always finding solutions and moving projects forward with ease. We trusted them so completely that we were happy to give up our own bedroom to ensure they had the privacy and comfort they deserved. Beyond their help, their story is deeply inspiring. Having traveled for over 10 years, they truly embrace life to the fullest and made us rethink our own perspectives on living. From hiking the local forests to exploring Nemi and Genzano, they made the most of every moment. Thank you both for your help, your presence, and the inspiration you left behind!

I had both positive and negative experiences with this host. I will start with the positives: Ann really cares for all the animals on this lebenshof and I think that is part of the reason they are all super friendly. I really liked all the animals, especially Oly (the sweetest cat ever). Ann also had a lot of interesting stories to tell around the dinner table, and we had a lot of good moments I will remember for a long time. She opened my eyes to a lot of good vegan food options I did not know about. I lost my phone on the way there and it took over 3 weeks for the airport to find my phone and for it to arrive in the mail. Even though I did not have the guts to leave the property much without a phone I rarely felt bored because there were so many friendly animals and a lot of things to work on. Now onto the negatives: in the beginning worked double the hours she says workawayers should and I felt like the focus still was on what I had not done or my mistakes. I felt like that kind of killed a lot of the motivation I had in the beginning. I also felt like there were mixed signals during my stay, I was told multiple times that I should take more breaks and that I should work less, but when I started taking more breaks and working less I felt like there was irritation because of the work not being done. I only took 3 days off in four weeks and I felt like I was still judged for not doing enough at times. Sometimes it felt like I was being judged for the smallest little things. For example choosing to wash my own hair in the morning before starting the work with the animals. She said she would never even think of washing it before going to the barn and she told me I was such a strange person for doing so. It kind of felt like a personal attack over something insignificant. As I said earlier I had a mixed experience with this place. In one hand I loved to work with the animals and I had a lot of good moments I will remember for a long time, on the other hand there were also moments I did not feel welcome or appreciated. Overall I am grateful for my stay:)

Dear Muskan, thank you so much for everything! She's incredibly cheerful, positive, and warm-hearted, and in a very short time, she became a friend to all the neighbors. She created a beautiful mural, beyond my wildest dreams, and she was so quick! She left us with a memory we'll cherish for years to come. Muskan, I wish you all the best in life. If you'd like to visit again, you can always contact me. Lots of love.

Helen is a very kind, empathic, thoughtful and wonderful host. She took the time to show me Vienna and always tried to make my stay comfortable. I did lots of gardening for the upcoming spring, which I totally enjoyed. I spent 3 weeks at her place but had unexpected need to leave for a few days and Helen was very understanding and accommodating. At nights, we passed the time chatting and playing games and laughter and sharing. Pepa is also very friendly and easy dog to take care of.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Aaran and Mauritz and can highly recommend this Workaway experience. We stayed in their beautiful decorated apartment for a week. It is very centrally located, which made it easy for us to explore the area and go on small trips. If you arrive by car, be aware that the parking situation is limited and pricy. Communication was excellent from the very beginning. Aaran was always easy to reach and had helpful answers to all of our questions, which made everything feel very smooth and comfortable. Gruff, the big fluffy boy is amazing – very easy to take care of, super affectionate, and always happy to come by for some cuddles. He truly made our stay even more special. We also really appreciated that they allowed us to stay a few extra days, even after they had already returned. This kind of generosity meant a lot to us. Aaran and Mauritz are incredibly kind and warm people – the world would be a better place if more people were like them. Thank you so much for everything!

My experience as a volunteer at the monastery was wonderful and truly rejuvenating. Most notably, the welcoming and kind manner all the resident Benedictine nuns demonstrated to me, and the other volunteers, from the moment I arrived until I left was so heartwarming. The monastery is impressive, with much history and art everywhere, and the gardens are lovely and beautiful. The monastery, as one might expect, emanates a solemn reverence which is palpable the moment one enters its walls. I personally found peace, serenity and a feeling of being closer to God there and it was absolutely therapeutic for the soul. I enjoyed the work and was blessed by being with four other personable volunteers and we formed a good team. The meals were delicious, plentiful and so appreciated. And as a bonus, the town of Fabriano has much to offer with its interesting medieval character and lovely surroundings. In conclusion, I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked at the monastery and, God willing, would like to return there very soon. To Madre Laura and all the sisters at the monastery - Grazie mille!

Leon and Yara took really amazing care of our cat and our apartment. They were super easy to communicate with and it was great to be able to catch-up over lunch before they moved on to their next adventure in Norway. You’re welcome back any time :)

I'm so lucky that Andi invited me to stay. This host is relaxed. And communication was smooth. The work is not the same every time. For example, when I was there, he was renovating an old guesthouse. We moved furniture, painted walls, and installed carpets. I also did some artwork: I built small wall art in the gap between the shelves. I had my own huge space and a large, comfortable bed. The food was the best; I really enjoyed it. We played board games, listened to music, and had a good time. Thank you for taking me shopping so many times. I am happy being here.

Fynn visited us twice and spend several months at our place. He is a hard working, responsible young man, always waking up early to take care of the animals and morning tasks. He chopped a lot of firewood and helped with landscaping amongst other tasks. Fynn is super easy going, tidy and very friendly. He helped I highly recommend him to any host.
