    Description

    Ciao Workawayers!

We’re Leo (French) and Laura (Italian), a couple living in a sunny, peaceful home nestled in the countryside near Rome, with breathtaking views of Lago di Nemi. After years working in humanitarian missions across the globe—from Canada to South Sudan—we’ve returned to Europe to build something meaningful close to our families and nature.

We’ve recently founded a non-profit association dedicated to hosting people from all walks of life for immersive experiences in nature. Our vision is to create a space where guests/travelers can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover clarity and joy through introspection, community, and the healing power of the outdoors.

If you want to learn more about our association, ask us for the link to our website or our Instagram

    🛠️ Who We’re Looking For
To bring this vision to life, we’re expanding our hosting capacity and need help with several hands-on projects:

    - Rearranging our garage
    - Assembling a compost toilet
    - Cleaning
    - Maintenance of the place
    - Harvesting olive trees in October/November

Please clearly mention your skills in your message since we are receiving many requests from workawayers :)

    🏡 Life here:
    - Languages spoken: French, Italian, and English—perfect for cultural exchange and language practice
    - Nature immersion: Forests, lake hikes, and panoramic views right outside your door
    - Local charm: We’re just 1 km from Nemi, one of Italy’s most enchanting towns.
    - Nemi is located just 30 km away from downtown Rome but it's quite difficult to get there because the train station is 20 mins drive from our place.
    - Amenities: Bikes available, cozy evenings by the fireplace, and shared meals on the terrace with birdsong and lake views

And of course, you’ll meet Wadi, our beloved ginger cat and unofficial mascot (check him out on Instagram - ask us for the link)

🌱 What We Offer in Exchange
    - Accommodation
    - Food
    - A warm, welcoming atmosphere
    - Time to relax, reflect, and enjoy nature after your working hours and during weekends
    - A chance to be part of this inspiring project / community nurtured by us

We’re looking for motivated, kind-hearted, open-minded, and energetic souls who enjoy working with their hands and contributing to a meaningful project. We need help bring this project life. If this resonates with you and you have the right skills, we can’t wait to welcome you.

    Cheers,

    Leo & Laura
