We really enjoyed having Louis for 9 days at Tītoki Vineyards. He was a hardworking and proactive individual who noticed when things needed doing and was always happy to lend a hand. He fit in really well and was a friendly guy. He was also excellent at the jobs we had lined up which included plucking, thinning, and harvesting grapes, and carried out these tasks with care and efficiency. An excellent cook, he introduced us to and shared some delicious German cuisine, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would happily recommend him and wish him all the very best with his future travels.

Our time was short at only 2 weeks (wish we could have stayed longer!!) with Kirsten but we had an amazing time and we will definitely come back to visit if we are passing by. Swan Cove is a stunning place, staying in a home built by the previous owner in the 1960s. Kirsten has kept all its original features and continues to restore parts of the house to keep it looking so authentic and beautiful. Surrounded by kangaroos, lorikeets, koalas and more, Raymond Island is a safe haven for all and we are lucky and super thankful to Kirsten to have had the opportunity to spend time here. There is so much to do in your time off, kayaking, biking, koala spotting, yoga, swimming and getting involved in community activities. Kirsten is a wonderful person to be around and to learn from she is so generous and welcoming, making sure everyone is looked after and enjoying their time. She gave us the freedom in choosing our jobs and when we want to complete them, thank for your trust in allowing us to develop skills in things we are not so experienced in, for example the veggie boxes Emile built during our stay. We miss your cakes already!! Thanks again, hope to see you soon :)

Wow, where do i start, Christine didn’t come but Bev was a whirlwind on her own. Teaching me about apps and a different communication style. We went swimming together, and investigated the local markets . Bev loves working outdoors and really got stuck into it, she was a massive help. I can hardly wait to see her again in England when i go over.

My partner and I had the best time staying with Louisa, Ytai and their kids. Their property is stunningly beautiful and we both learned a ton and share a deep admiration of their self-sufficiency. the guest house we stayed in was private and cozy and the food was consistently delicious and healthy. The fresh passion fruits and figs were such a treat. They're such a warm, friendly couple and we found ourselves missing the kids and the dog as soon as we left. We had the privilege of having Ytai teach us about the process of tanning possum pelts and Louisa was eager to teach basket weaving but unfortunately we ran out of time on our trip We committed to making them a nice table with wood milled from their property and took up most of our time. We were both super grateful for the free-reign they gave us and consequently the project turned into a real labour of love. 10/10 - would so highly recommend staying with them though it is worth mentioning that they are quite busy with their young family so this might not be the most social work away. We were grateful for the chance to get them over meals but were also happy to have come as a couple.

You will be missing out if you don’t host Agata. She is very respectful of your space, Clean and tidy and enjoys working outdoors. Her English is brilliant and always willing to learn anything. I hope she returns one day.

Muchas gracias ❤️🦋

I had the best time staying with LeAnne and Ian (and of course doggos Halo and Pip)! I was initially staying for two weeks but extended to three after just a few days. LeAnne and Ian are incredible hosts, very welcoming and fun to spend time with. During my time I learned a lot about dairy farming (which I didn’t know anything about before), and both LeAnne and Ian were happy to answer my many questions about farming, New Zealand and life in general. I enjoyed the many chats around the kitchen table <3. The work I did was a mix of milking, gardening, digging and other work around the farm. Overall I just had a wonderful time with a lot of laughs, time to explore beautiful Taranaki and a lot of new insights into the farming industry. I can definitely recommend LeAnne and Ian as hosts to anyone!

I've stayed with Lisa and Mario for 1 month and I have to say I really enjoyed my time with them, they are super nice people and the kids are lovely. Since I love physical work I also really enjoyed helping them at the farm. They would always ask me if I needed anything, and also asked me if I wanted to join them for some activities outside of work. It's been a wonderful experience and I hope to meet them again!

It was the best experiences I’ve had, thank you, Claudia, Stefan and Madeline, for such a warm welcome. The best part of this experience for me was getting to know you. I already miss you all 🫶🏽 Your home has such a warm and relaxed atmosphere, and I truly felt at home. I really enjoyed the daily rhythm, working in the garden, watching everything grow (and constantly being overgrown with weeds 😁), and then slowing down in the evening, enjoying the sunset and drinking kombucha 😊. Thank you for everything. It was a really special experience for me. I’m looking forward to seeing you again, wherever it may be. Sára

Maja and charlotte were a delight to host, always willing to do any tasks asked of them without hesitation or problems. They were very polite and respectful. It was a pleasure to host them both. Franzi is a very happy, joyful and positive soul. She was so helpful with the bakery, plumbing, cleaning and dog sitting. Wherever you need her she has the motivation and initiative! We connected from the beginning and even Vivi loved her immediatley. Whatever you need her to do she showed the energy and was ready to work. Also in our free time we spent a lot of time together partying, on markets and even went on a Trip together. You are always welcome with us ❤️ hope to see you soon!

Incredible experience. 10/10. I spent a month and a half in Umbria, and if it weren't for the Schengen rule, I may be there still. I learned so much about Italian grapes and the winemaking process. I was involved in every aspect, from the picking of the grapes to the pouring of the bottle. It was definitely hard work, but also so much fun. During the week, I had enough time after work to go for a run or play guitar or just lay in the sun. I even started learning to paint. On the weekends, Iacopo took us on trips to see the surrounding areas, which were all incredible. Central Italy is absolutely stunning. Swimming in the baths of Narni is an experience I will not soon forget. Eating lunch and dinner all together every day was definitely a highlight. Not to mention Iacopo’s wine, which is delicious, 100/10. This is a perfect workaway for the culinarily inclined, as Iacopo's preference is red meat for every meal. Hahaha. He will buy vegetables, you just have to ask! I had so much fun in the kitchen cooking for everyone, trying out new recipes and learning classic Italian ones too. I loved going to the bar every morning for a cappuccino and conversing (or trying to converse more like) with the local people. Iacopo’s family and Italian workers all made me feel so very welcome. And I miss the winery cats, Misha and Leo, every day. Umbria is such a special place, and will forever be near and dear to my heart. This was definitely one of my very favorite workaways to date. Grazie mille, Iacopo. Alla prossima.

I spent a month with Lila and JayaSri and I truly enjoyed every single day. Almost every day brought new tasks, which made the experience incredibly varied and exciting. There was also plenty of free time, which I used to explore the beautiful nature around the farm. During that time, I was lucky enough to see platypuses, wallabies, and many other amazing animals. JayaSri's cooking is absolutely delicious and wonderfully diverse – something I will definitely miss. The family is so warm, open-minded, and full of joy. Some evenings turned into unforgettable karaoke nights that lasted late into the night. They were so much fun that even I found it hard to put the microphone down in the end ;) As this was my very first Workaway experience, I truly couldn’t have imagined it any better. The time I spent with you has made me braver and more confident, and I am deeply grateful for that <3

Heartwarming stay in killcare. Cheryl and the two dogs are amazing to spend time with. Volunteering here was a great experience, the work wasn’t like you were having a manager over your head and having strict deadlines but more “ helping a friend move a few things around and miscellaneous tasks for a few hours in the morning” Cheryl’s and kind, talkative lady and having her and the dogs to be with and play with, was rewarding enough. The dogs Bouddi and Kayah are VERY intelligent dogs. They understand a lot and are trained and completely trust worthy (for me) to be around. Would love to visit again in the future and learn more about you. Luke

Grazie.
