My week-long experience at the home was super meaningful, enjoyable and memorable. I didn't have any prior experience with children so didn't quite know what to expect but the kids at the home are so welcoming, open, curious and full of energy that they made me feel right at home! During my stay, I accompanied the younger children to school and helped out with English teaching/games/art. We helped with getting the toddlers ready for school and after school spent time playing games and just hanging out with all the children. The other volunteers I stayed with were amazing and had some really fun, creative ideas like painting a wall mural with the kids' handprints which everyone enjoyed. James and Narada were very hospitable hosts and helped out with anything the volunteers needed, even treating us to a delicious meal at the Chumphon night market one evening and arranging a Pad Thai cooking lesson for us! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the amazing hosts, co-volunteers and above all the children - I will never forget the time I spent with you all.

Andrea stayed with me from February 2 to 19, and she was a truly wonderful presence in our home. She cared for both the cats and the dog with great attentiveness and warmth. It was very clear that she has a natural connection with animals — they trusted her quickly and genuinely enjoyed being around her. Knowing they were calm and well looked after while I was away from home gave me real peace of mind. Andrea was also extremely respectful of the house and daily responsibilities. She kept everything clean, tidy, and well organized, and handled all shared spaces with care and consideration. I always felt the home was in safe and reliable hands. She is calm, responsible, and easy to live with — exactly the kind of person who creates a harmonious atmosphere in a shared home. I’m very grateful for her help and would warmly recommend her to any host, especially those with animals.

Visiting Valerio was my first Workaway experience, and it was honestly the best thing that could have happened to me. At first, most of us are probably a bit nervous for our first Workaway experience, but from the very first day Valerio opened his home to me and treated me like a friend. I felt really comfortable, not only working there, but also LIVING in his space. The work is very varied, and you can do things both inside and outside the house. I stayed during winter, so sometimes tasks were a bit harder to find, since in summer there are more outdoor projects. Still, I was always free to choose what I wanted to work on and which projects suited me best. Valerio is also very kind when explaining how things work, and one thing I’ll always remember is: fail is a part of the process :D On the weekends, and sometimes after work, he showed me places around his town (with places i mean the climbing gym mostly :D) and welcomed me into a wonderful group of friends who are all super nice. I had the best time with everyone, and I already miss the dogs and all the funny evenings we shared. I honestly can’t recommend anything more than coming here and getting to know this beautiful little world of climbing, working together, cooking, singing, and sharing stories. Can’t wait to see you again soon and see what cool projects you’ve started or finished. Always remember that what you’re creating here, on your own, with friends, and with us Workawayers, is something truly beautiful. This whole house project is such a special place for learning, growing together, and sharing experiences with people from all over the world, and you’re doing an amazing job as a host. I’m really proud of you :)

This experience was absolutely beautiful. I stayed for 1 month and enjoyed my time there everyday. The hotel is gorgeous with lovely mosaics all around and incredible artwork created by Andres and David. The room you stay in is perfect, one of the nicest rooms I have had the opportunity to stay in while volunteering in South America. I was able to connect very well with the guests, offering recommendations and serving breakfast as well as checking them in. It was a pleasure to work with Luis, Blanca, Rosa and David. ♡ The energy is very light and fun. I created beautiful friendships with them all. I will remember this experience for all of my life. I recommend to make a plan to visit the other islands for at least 1 week before or after your volunteering. They are all so magical. I made great local friends here and on all of the islands there is a beautiful sense of community. Thank you so much for this incredible opportunity, I would love to return one day! ❤️

I spent 3 weeks here and had a great time. I met so many incredible people and was able to participate in a range of workshops from ecstatic dance, massage therapy, reading, music meditation etc. This was an amazing opportunity to further practice my yoga teaching skills and to explore my creative side with art. It is a very special and unique place!

I had an opportunity of staying at Jay's place and I'm so so grateful about it. He is such a wonderful host and an inspiring person. We watched a movie together and played some games. His enthusiasm inspired me so much. He showed me around in the villages and introduced me to the people in the community. His house looks like an art gallery. I loved the little market trips and walk to the town with him. I enjoyed his little guitar concerts while I used to cook for us. I wish he recovers very soon and I look forward to do the pikacho hike with him next time.

What a wonderful experience we've all had meeting and hosting Shiho! She has been so positive bright and lovely to interact with. I enjoyed our walks in nature and working efficiently as a team on our DIY project of laying new flooring together.Shiho has been working hard to improve her spoken English and we could see progress even in the 3 weeks here!! She was open to learning new things in the garden and helped so much with some general house work and laundry too. We are still settling in to our new house and routine so it was terrific to have that extra set of hands to help when needed. Thank you so much Shiho! We wish you the very best in the future. Finishibg your studies and travelling the world over and over!!

We really appreciate the time and care you spent in our place in San Cristóbal Island helping us. We hope you have enjoyed the Galapagos and its peace too. You will be always welcome if you decide to come back. Have a good journey back home. Basantes family.

Carolyn and Aimée just fitted in amazingly with our family. It felt so easy to share life and work together for a week. I really wished they could have moved in for longer. They were exceptionally fast, always helpful, amazing cooks and mature beyond their years. They connected beautifully with us and our kids.

My husband and I spent two months in Pitalito teaching at Jhon’s academy. We loved it. We were given a big, comfortable bedroom and private bathroom in his family’s house. The meals were excellent (thanks Anna) and Jhon and his family were so welcoming. The internet was good and I was able to work remotely. The academy is only five blocks from the house and we taught both at the house (zoom classes) and also at the academy (in-person classes and private lessons). Jhon and the professional teachers at the academy are excellent, as well as very welcoming and helpful to us. Many of the students were at a very high level. We loved the students, and we could feel their appreciation. Pitalito is located in a beautiful area and we were able to go on some really great adventures—Parque National Cuevas de Los Guácharos, Christmas with Jhon’s parents (thanks Jhon!), as well as Mocoa’s Fin del Mundo and Centro Experimental Amazonico (where you can watch monkeys swinging on ropes, and see a lot of other rescued Amazon animals), We also visited some really amazing waterfalls, as well as Tatacoa Desert and the Archaeological Park at San Agustín. Additional we enjoyed just walking around Pitalito. We felt safe and people were so friendly. We highly recommend this Workaway!

This was a truly magical experience. Marco is FANTASTIC!!! The place is located in a beautiful forest surrounded by nature in a very peaceful atmosphere. Feels almost like stepping into another world! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at home. The work was flexible and fair, mainly focused on house tasks, feeding the animals and helping in the garden which made it easy to find a good balance between helping and enjoying the surroundings. There was a natural rhythm to the days that made helping feel meaningful rather than just work. The food was amazing — fresh, healthy, and often coming directly from Marco's garden, which made the experience even more special. The accommodation was very comfortable and cozy, and the overall atmosphere of the house was joyful and relaxed. Communication with the host was always clear, respectful, and thoughtful, and the hospitality made me feel genuinely appreciated. And I cannot forget the dogs — they were absolutely wonderful and brought so much warmth, fun, and companionship to the whole experience. I leave this place feeling grateful and enriched! I would highly recommend this Workaway to anyone who loves nature, simplicity, and a warm human connection. It’s a beautiful place to slow down, learn, and enjoy life in a peaceful environment.

Jeff and Tina are extraordinarily kind and I highly recommend staying with them! Jeff has a wealth of DIY knowledge that he is more than happy to share and Tina has an extensive knowledge of spirituality and healing practices that you could talk with her about for hours! Not to mention, they're both simply exceptional people! The land that Jeff and Tina own on Cortes Island has some of the most naturally beautiful scenery I've ever seen and the locals on Cortes are also very welcoming and friendly!

Tamara is one of the kindest, most hospitable people I've ever met. Words won't be able to adequately describe how grateful I am for her hospitality, but I will try nonetheless. Even before I had arrived in Newfoundland, Tamara went above and beyond the call of duty. After flight cancellations and constant (even in-air!) delays, Tamara had the patience of a saint and was able to pick me up from St John's Airport despite situation constantly changing. During my entire stay at her home, I was treated with kindness, respect, enjoyed fantastic dinners and dinner conversations, and was able to have a schedule that allowed me to balance enjoying Newfoundland's stunning natural beauty and participating in the eco projects that Tamara had in progress at her house. Tamara not only gave me the flexibility to enjoy historical and cultural events in Newfoundland, she also joined in! To keep it brief, you will not be disappointed if you are hosted by Tamara, you'll find someone who is extremely kind and hospitable! Thank you so much, Tamara!

For my first Workaway experience at all I had the honour to stay at incredible place with Kirsten and I am so glad! Kirsten is so nice woman, she is so open-minded, I've learnt many things from her. I was helping her with taking care of her acommodation she provides, with some gardening and other stuff around the house and property. The place is wonderful and peaceful, with so many wildlife around, you can go cycling to see the koalas, swim in the lake and enjoy the peace. Thank you, Kirsten, for this opportunity!

Thank you so much, Andrea... for jumping into everything with such a big heart—whether it was painting murals, carving wood, or teaching the kids. You didn't just "volunteer," you truly became a part of our little family. We’re so glad you enjoyed the simple things, like the bike rides for coffee and your hitchhiking adventures to the waterfalls! It was wonderful to see you embrace the local life so naturally. We are all so grateful for the time we spent together. You left such a beautiful mark on our community, and we will cherish those memories forever. Remember, you always have a home here whenever you need a break from the world. Thank you for being such a lovely soul.

Esther is such a lovely, cheerful, and bright person. Her laughter and energy always bring so much joy to everyone around her. As a teacher, she makes learning so much fun that the children are always happy to be in her class. Beyond teaching, she has been a huge help to our community—from creating great social media videos and drawing beautiful art to keeping things clean and organized. Thank you so much, Esther, for choosing to stay with us and for everything you’ve done. We truly hope to welcome you back again soon!

We've stayed at their place for two weeks and had the best time there. From the start we have felt very welcomed and after a short time already part of the family. We had a lot of good talks with Daniela and learned a lot about the culture and sorrounding area. She also gave us many tips about what we can do in our free time and was very flexibel, so it was even possible to do multiple day trips. She also gave us some needed cooking lessons and tips, that we will definitely use on our further travels (especially the rice pudding 😋). We will also really miss the bread Ray always made and also the other delicious meals that were cooked every evening. We've also had a wonderful time with their daughter Konnie and really enjoyed building a fairy village and playing with her. When we arrived the hedge was trimmed, so the first few days we were busy with cleaning up the hedge. Furthermore we did some weeding, window cleaning, cutzing firewood and many more various tasks. Sometimes the work was exhausting because of the heat and sun, but Daniela made sure we took enough breaks. During our stay, another two workawayers wer also staying at their place and we all had a good time together during the meals or while playing card games. We're are deeply grateful for the great time we had at their place and couldnt have wished for a better stay. Thank you for the nice experience and the sourdough bread 😄

I couldn't have found a better place to start volunteering again after all these years. Steve's finca is a little piece of paradise! The nature, the river and surroundings are amazing, the working time was reasonable and the atmosphere with the other volunteers was great. It is overall very relaxed but there is enough organization to keep the boat afloat. The friendly cats and dogs were a real plus, they are all very lovely, and I am grateful to Steve also for introducing me to some of his friends in town. I am probably coming back soon actually :P

I stayed at Heidi's for 2 weeks, I would definitly recommand it ! Heidi is an energetic, outgoing and smart person. She always has many projects that she enjoys sharing with people. While I was there, I mostly helped with outdoor projects. Heidi taught me a lot about french drain (everything really 😉). Heidi is also involve in her community and she included me. She introduced me to her friends, we went to a pub quizz (and won), to the farmers market, to the art show displaying in the village... I also met with Roman, her husband. They are a lovely couple and spending time with them is lovely. They made me feel welcomed, even when I came back after few months. If you have the chance to stay at Heidi's, you shouldn’t hesitate !
