    Description

Hi, my name is Marco. I’m 38 years old and originally from Naples, Italy.
Six years ago, I bought a piece of land in the heart of Sardinia, on a mountain called Goceano.

After 14 years of traveling around the world, I decided to slow down and settle here, turning this land into my home. Today, the house is ready, the vegetable garden is in full production, and chickens are now part of daily life. Little by little, this place is becoming a living, breathing ecosystem.

My long-term vision is to create a sustainable farm, aiming for self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on supermarkets as much as possible. I am also about to start new projects, including the development of an agricultural business and potentially a small hospitality or retreat-style structure. This is a work in progress, built step by step, with patience, respect for nature, and a lot of hands-on learning.

There is still plenty to do, but this is exactly what makes the journey exciting. Living in the forest, surrounded by animals, plants, and silence, has brought me a deep sense of balance and fulfillment.

Sardinia is a truly magical place. This island takes care of me as if it were a mother, and I feel deeply grateful to live here. It offers everything one needs: raw nature, beauty, strong energy, and a slower rhythm of life. Anyone who comes here will be welcomed by the land itself and constantly amazed by its richness and authenticity.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I consider myself a very multitasking and hands-on person. I enjoy working with wood, steel, and stone, and I have strong experience in growing food and taking care of the land. I’m also a pizza maker and a mixologist bartender, skills I love to share and improve through practice and exchange.

I speak Italian as my mother tongue, and I’m fluent in English and Spanish, which makes communication and cultural exchange easy and natural.

In my free time, I love exploring the island, visiting the coast, and looking for interesting activities, places, and people. Sardinia has so much to offer, and I’m always curious to discover new corners of it.

I’m more than happy to learn anything others are willing to share. I truly believe that we are all pieces of art, and that each of us has something unique to offer to others. For me, exchange, curiosity, and mutual inspiration are at the heart of every meaningful experience.

I would love to host someone who enjoys peaceful moments in nature, surrounded by an oak forest, where life flows at a slower and more natural rhythm. This is a place for people who appreciate simplicity, silence, and a deep connection with the land.

I don’t expect a rigid or schematic way of working. Life here is flexible, and people are free to organize their time and energy, as long as there is mutual respect and a sense of responsibility. The idea is to share daily life rather than follow strict schedules.

Help is needed with everyday farm activities such as cleaning, cooking, chopping wood, feeding the animals, taking care of the vegetable garden, cutting grass, and, when necessary, looking after the farm if I need to be away. Tasks vary depending on the season and the moment, and everything is done at a human and sustainable pace.

In exchange, you’ll experience a simple and authentic rural lifestyle, learn about sustainable living, and enjoy the peace, beauty, and energy of Sardinia’s countryside.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

I live a simple and easygoing life. I also run a small catering company, and I do some part-time jobs.

Volunteers will stay in a caravan on the land, with a bathroom located right next to it. If there are more Workawayers than space in the caravan, additional volunteers will stay in tents. You’re welcome to use the kitchen and the living room in the house, but with moderation and respect for shared spaces.

There are no strict rules in the house, just common sense: keeping things tidy, clean, and respecting each other’s space. Living here is simple and essential, ideal for people who enjoy a relaxed and flexible lifestyle rather than luxury.

You’ll also share the space with two amazing dogs and five friendly cats, who love company and will make you feel at home immediately.

Close to the land, there are natural hot springs, perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with nature. The area is quite remote and far from towns and services, which makes it a great place for those seeking peace and silence.

I can pick you up from the train or bus station when you arrive and take you back when you leave. When I need to move around, you’re also welcome to come with me or I can give you a lift to specific places when I’m heading out.
