I had an absolutely incredible experience staying with Caro. From the moment I arrived, she was warm, kind, and consistently communicative, making me feel welcome and at home right away. My time with her was truly enriching in terms of cultural exchange. I learned so much about the rich artistic history and culture of Céret, and she generously shared her knowledge and passion throughout my stay. She also taught me how to cook some amazing dishes like chicken curry and nettle soup, and even introduced me to foraging for wild asparagus, which was such a unique and memorable experience. There is so much to explore in the area, and I loved visiting the local museums and soaking in all the art and inspiration. Working with Caro was equally rewarding, I enjoyed helping in her garden and assisting in her ceramic workshop, where I learned about processes like slip casting and mold making. It was fascinating and hands-on in the best way. We also spent time enjoying the simple pleasures like going on walks around town, eating fresh oysters at the local market, and visiting beautiful ceramic exhibitions together. These moments made the experience even more special. Overall, my stay with Caro was unforgettable. I’m so grateful for everything I learned and experienced, and I would highly recommend staying with her to anyone looking for a meaningful and inspiring Workaway opportunity.

Diana ha pasado unos días en casa con su perrita Dana, colaborando en todas las tareas de la granja y la casa. Sólo tengo palabras buenas para ambas. Pese a la corta estancia, se ha involucrado al cien por cien. Rápida al comprender el montón de cosas a tener en cuenta en una casa autosuficiente con una granja llena de animales. Dana es un perrita muy bien educada, limpia y alegre a la que se ve feliz compartiendo nuevas experiencias y tiempo con su ama. Diana es muy interesante, rápida aprendiendo, muy trabajadora e implicada y lo mejor: una GRAN PERSONA. Ojalá la vida vuelva a cruzar nuestros caminos.

This was my first Workaway experience, and I absolutely loved it! I stayed for one week on the beautiful land of Eline and Ashok. Another Workawayer was there at the same time, as well as Eline’s sister, and I really enjoyed spending time with them during our free time. Eline and Ashok are very friendly and open hosts, and I felt comfortable from the very beginning. They communicate clearly about the expected work, and everything is totally manageable. The area around Maro is incredibly beautiful, and there are so many things to do in your free time: stunning beaches, numerous hiking trails, yoga, visits to Nerja, relaxing on the cliffs on the property, watching breathtaking sunsets, spotting dolphins, and more. I will keep this experience very warmly in my memory 💕

It was great having Stefano here taking care of the house, tasks and especially us ♡ He's easy to work with and takes care of the surroundings before you need to ask. We loved his common sense to maintain the place clean and comfortable and his helpful manual skills. Overall he's always happy to help for anything. We loved especially your vegan cooking and we already miss you. P.S. Let us know when you join the circus and a band with your new juggling and ukulele skills.

Karina, también conocida como Luz, es un nombre que le sienta de maravilla; es un verdadero rayo de sol. Siempre sonriente y de buen humor, es un placer pasar tiempo con ella desde la mañana hasta la noche, ya que trabaja en línea por las tardes. Juntas hicimos deporte, limpiamos la casa y practicamos nuestros respectivos idiomas. Además, es una persona culta, y nuestras conversaciones fueron interesantes y entretenidas. ¡Qué alegría tener esta nueva amiga y qué suerte haberla conocido!

Nous avons fait une très belle expérience humaine avec Lucie. Elle nous a aidé à la maison , avec les enfants à l'école et s'est aussi employé à nous promouvoir sur les réseaux sociaux. Elle a pu mobiliser des fonds pour soutenir le centre et aussi apporter du matériel éducatif et ludique pour les enfants. MERCI INFINIMENT Lucie et Mellynda♥️

I am not going to write much because it is not necessary. This is a magical family in a magical place. Everything is very positive, specially the energy. This is very much a place that resonates the Workaway spirit. I recommend it as much as I possibly can. Thanks for the wonderful time! I’ll be back often!

I was here for almost two months. The task was housekeeping and dog walking and care. The tasks were exactly what was stated in the job description. The housework was well structured in terms of smoothness and routine. I liked walking the dogs in the park by the river. The environment was very interesting, and I got to know many local people. Many of them knew the dogs. I developed my own routine for jogging with the dogs. The dogs were also motivated by it, and the jogging went smoothly. I think I already miss those moments with dogs. I liked working and spending time with all the other volunteers. You were the best. Thank you all. Osaka, and especially Juso is a very nice place to stay. I enjoyed my free time there walking, cycling and visiting the city and the surrounding areas and towns. I also spent a lot of time with the host family and got to know their friends and acquaintances. Thank you Mika-san and Muco-san for welcoming me. Thank you for all your kindness and hospitality. You were so kind and generous for me. Thanks for all the conversations and laughter. Mika-san, masterchef, you always made the best dinner. Thank you.

Breanna was such a pleasure to have around here in the community and help out with the project. She was fun, willing and eager to learn, adaptable and showed great leadership skills. She took it upon herself to get the tasks done and even thought outside the box of how she could help out in managing the space. We appreciate her openness in helping us out during the beginning stages of the NGO and would certainly enjoy having her back!

Gustavo è stato un ospite eccezionale. Sempre disponibile, rispettoso e con una grande voglia di fare. Si è integrato subito nell’ambiente e ha dato una mano concreta in tutte le attività, sempre con il sorriso. Affidabile e autonomo, ha reso l’esperienza davvero positiva. Mr hyoung, He is a great person, I like his passion, about life, and he's very respectful person he always tries his best to make the communication easier and smooth, l learned so many things from him, kouksundo is one of the best things that I've got introduced to, in my life, thanks to mr hyoung, I'll keep learning about kouksundo and I'll let more people know about it, thank you very much, I appreciate your kindness, you are a brother

Thomas joined us for around 3 weeks at the start of winter, 2025 (nov/dec) and arrived just days after a massive storm took down several very large trees on our steep land. He immediately got to work cutting up the fallen trees, dragging branches for wood chipping and doing the wood chipping too. He did a superb job of this, working many hours on his own, with care and intensity, and working in rather damp weather too. Following this he assisted us with firewood collection (felling dead trees and stacking wood), and collecting mountains of dead leaves for composting. We are also massively grateful for his input levelling a track that had started washing away down a slope, with all the rain we had. This strenuous task was something we were dreading doing ourselves, being in our mid-60's, with bad backs, but he volunteered for the task and once again did a superb job. We enjoyed his quiet company and engaging conversation and would be more than happy to host him again any time. A superb workaway volunteer.

I stayed almost 3 weeks at sarah's place and left with tears in my eyes. In the beginning I needed some days to adjust myself to the routines and rhythm of the off grid life, but after that I just had the best time. I think the experience depends a little on the weather/ season and if there's other volunteers around, but in every case the animals are super sweet and the view is absolutely stunning, so if you're a nature & animal person this is for you! I'm hoping to come back soon:)

Staying with Perrine, Gabin and Gustave as my first workaway experience was very pleasant. They are an easy-going family, let you do what ever pleases you, whether it's joining family activities or doing your own thing. I was often on my own (with Mélisse their dog) and I was free to work in the garden or do whatever else I wanted to do. During my stay we weeded out different patches in the garden, I got to feed the chickens and the goats, we planted some flowers and cleared out old hay from the sheep stable and refilled with clean hay. Other than that I went on many walks with Mélisse, we went on a hike (there are beautiful mountains and hills behind their house), met family friends, they let me practice cooking and use them as taste testers 😅, practiced on the piano and made Origami and puzzles with Gustave. Thank you Perrine, Gabin and Gustave for being so open and accommodating and letting me be part of your daily lives.

Brittany spent here just a short time but we can say we had a great time. During this 6 days we were visiting the nearby lakes, had a hike in the closest forrest, were bikeing along the river bend, visited the old houses in the village, took the small locat train in the forrest. We did some gardening work: we were pruning the grapevines, she raked the leaves and did some earthwork, also we were cooking together and made fire in the stove. Brittany helped washing the dishes and removed the spidernets. We had some nice conversations, played a board game and I tried to share some local culture as well.

Karla stayed a whole month with us, and we were very happy to have her around. We enjoyed spending time and exchanging with Karla and we got to know her as a happy, honest, flexible, open-minded, transparent, interesting and interested person. She was just wonderful with the kids: kind, patient, funny, strait. They loved her right away! During her workaway-time, Karla cooked for us and we will remember her “Plinse” and her spinach pasta! We also enjoyed it a lot that she tidied and cleaned up the kitchen in detail several times a day. Karla often went for long walks with Arcadia. And she also did some special contracts, like cleaning a second-hand shelf or pumping up about 50 ballons for Arcadias birthday. After an operation on my right hand, I couldn’t use it at all for about two weeks, and I couldn’t carry anything with it for a month after the operation. I was very lucky to have Karla around during the first three weeks after the operation. She helped me so much, whenever and wherever she could! We will remember Karla teaching Sirius a card trick, doing a puzzle with Octave and celebrating Arcadias second birthday with us!

J'ai passé un super séjour chez Julia, qui m'a très bien nourri, et accueillit dans une chambre avec salle de bain très confortable. Je pense avoir bien progressé en anglais grâce à elle et ça m'a fait très plaisir de l'aider en retour. Le coin où elle habite est très joli, je partais me promener tous les matins avec mon chien pour profiter du paysage. Il y a beaucoup de choses à faire pour aider Julia, même ceux qui ne savent pas bricoler peuvent se rendre très utile.

Federica has a wonderfull presence! She took great care of my pets and the house while I was travelling and before that she helped me a lot in the garden. She re vitalized the garden with nice plants , and we had great meals as she cooks good italian food and is excelent company for a conversation ! I was lucky to have her as a workawayer here 🍀

Thank you for having us at your place. We stayed and completed the week as we wanted to make sure we supported you when help was most needed. After finishing the week, we feel that the experience wasn’t quite the right match for us in terms of working style, daily routine, and expectations around the living environment, so we think it’s best for us to move on. We still appreciate the chance to be part of your project for a short time and wish you all the best going forward. Thank you again and take care 🙂

A wonderful and relaxed experience. Something very different in one of the most beautiful places i’ve volunteered. A lot of good things came to me while being here. I felt at home in the Bedford and Pete & Deborah are kind, respectful hosts. Working with Pete out in the forest was much fun & Deborah prepared the best vegan curry. Even though circumstances are very basic and you have to pay for your own food, don’t let it stop you from coming here because being here has the potential to change you for the better.
