Three people stand outdoors on a grassy hill under a blue sky, two giving a high-five, all wearing hats, enjoying nature and each other's company.
A delicious sandwich with crispy bread, fried patty, fresh lettuce, tomato, avocado spread, and pickles sits on a blue plate in a cozy kitchen.
A man and woman enjoy their visit to ancient ruins, smiling together in front of a large stone pyramid, surrounded by lush greenery under gray skies.
This is a simple bedroom with white tiled floors, a green bedspread, pillows, a small lamp, a window with lace curtains, and minimal decoration.
Two people stand in front of a massive tree, smiling and touching the trunk. The tree is surrounded by a rich, green forest with vibrant foliage.

    Description

Our project is an NGO creating a network of self-sufficient sanctuary communities across the tropics focused on edible reforestation, ecological repair, and community living. Help create lasting change on the planet. We’ve just moved into a new location and the NGO building is in need of a make over. We are having fun using this new space as a fresh canvas that’s full of possibility! There’s still lots of work ahead, but we’re making steady progress everyday. You don’t need any special skills, just a willingness to help where it’s needed. If you’d like to be part of a small team bringing a bit of magic into this beautiful space, we look forward to meeting you. Check out our IG to learn more! @sanctuarytropicaledibleplants

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We often enjoy having conversations that are centred around community living, self exploration & plants! We offer work shops based on the Life Diet and the Seed to Seed Cycle. The Life Diet is learning how to create delicious nourishing meals using the Life Diet principles. The Life Diet is a guideline that supports the optimal life of the plants we eat and how it affects the human body. The Seed-to-Seed Cycle is learning how we grow edible plants from seeds using methods that support the plant’s full life cycle. You’ll join us in seasonal tasks like sowing, planting, harvesting, and soil building to better understand our long-term food production system. Beyond the project there are many ways to immerse yourself in the local culture here like visiting the nearby ruins, (including Tikal), exploring the abundant food markets and walking through Flores Island to watch the sunset.
