Description
A little lost paradise in south Cambodia needs your help!
We are situated on Pak Klang beach in Koh Kong province, just 8 km away from the border with Thailand.
From March 2020 my husband (Thibault )and I (Marija)made our dream come true by opening a small guesthouse with a few beach huts and a bar / restaurant on the beach itself. . Our goal is to make our guests feel like home, and since we live on the land as well we like to make everyone feel as part of the family. We try to be innovative and always bring new ideas to the project, and we are very open to new ideas from a different perspective such as yours! This year we have suffered from troubled times during the conflict with Thailand. Which is why we decided this year we want to offer something new, a safe space,a wellness retreat for people to process , heal and recconect with themselves - we want to offer this mostly to the locals and expats living in the country , but also all travellers will be welcome!
The neighborhood is peaceful; you will be surrounded by mostly small restaurants owned by very lovely locals.
There is a local fisherman village and market just 10 min bike ride away from us. We are 10km away from the city and it is reachable by scooter that you can easily rent from somebody for cheap.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
What’s in it for you?
-Experience the authentic side of Cambodia.
-Learn about Khmer herbal wisdom and traditions.
-Deepen your own practice in a high-vibration environment.
-Enjoy our sea-view ice bath and the healing power of the ocean.
Take this chance to get to learn more about the Khmer culture by living among the locals. There is a lot to learn from their history and their life philosophy. Personally, that changed the way we see life. The Khmer are the warmest people I have met. Here you will get to meet a lot of travelers too; all having a unique story to share, and an opportunity for a lot of friendships to be made. We love learning languages too, we speak English, French, Macedonian, Croatian, Bulgarian and a bit of Spanish so if you speak or wish to learn any of these languages it would be a pleasure to exchange knowledge. In addition to that we like to do DIY projects to create anything from decorative objects to chairs and tables, so if you are feeling crafty it would be lot of fun. By helping us you would learn about business management as well. We would love to find a way to help the community as much as possible therefor any help will be greatly appreciated by the locals too.
Help
Hello beautiful souls! We are looking for 4 open-hearted volunteers to join us in our little slice of paradise. For the past 6 years, we have run a peaceful beach resort, and now we are following our hearts to transition this space into a sanctuary for wellness and healing.
We believe our location—surrounded by nature, mangroves, and the calmest ocean—is the ideal place for people to reconnect with themselves. We are looking for a few helping hands to help us facilitate this transition and co-create our upcoming wellness retreats.
The Help We Need:
We are looking for people who are passionate about a holistic lifestyle and want to share their energy with us. Your background could be in:
-Yoga & Meditation: Helping lead gentle morning or sunset sessions on the sand.
-Space Holding/Life Coaching: Assisting with the flow and energy of the retreat.
-Retreat Enthusiasts: If you’ve helped organize or participate in wellness events before, your experience is a gift!
-Healthy Soul Food: Someone who loves experimenting with healthy recipes, smoothies, and herbal teas. (We have local cooks for the main meals, but we’d love a hand with the "vitality" side of the kitchen!)
Note: We employ local Cambodian women for our massage , kitchen needs to support our local community.
Available from: January 2026 – June 2026.
Usually, according to Workaway rules we require 5h of help , 5 days a week in exchange for one meal per day during '''working'' days, and accommodation. Since we are trying to organise something new, this is very flexible and will be discussed depending on your skills and time needed to implement our ideas.
You will have a room in an apartment that we rent in the village nearby just 1km from our resort. We usually give priority to pairs because otherwise you would need to share the room with one more person.
You will have access to our bicycles to move around, and it is also walkable distance.
Everything is negotiable, please feel free to express your needs and we can ensure a great exchange together!
We also have a few furry and feathered friends on site, including two friendly dogs, a cat, and even two pet chickens! We do not need help with them but you can enjoy the presence of our lovely animals.
If you're a traveller with a flexible schedule, a desire to help out in a beautiful part of the world, and you're ready for an authentic Cambodian experience, please send us a message ! Tell us a bit about yourself, your availability, and why you'd be a great fit for our team.
We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to our little slice of paradise in Koh Kong!
Please include the word "pineapple" in the subject of your message so that we know you've read the whole thing. Messages not including the word will be ignored.

Accommodation
We are renting a house in the village nearby that has 3 rooms and two bathrooms with basic necessities , in a rural, local setting. Photos will be provided .It is 1km from the resort, walkable distance and we also provide bicycles. Two people per room, max 5 people in the house. You'll be staying in a traditional village home with a simple, authentic setting, reflecting the local Cambodian lifestyle. The house is functional and comfortable but not luxurious. You'll find a mattress on the floor (the common practice here), a basic but usable kitchen, and an icebox for cold storage (a fridge isn't available). Please note that expectations of Western-style amenities, especially in this rural setting, should be adjusted accordingly. This is a chance to live like a local!

What else ...
Since we are located on the beach itself there is nothing better than a relaxing beach time for your time off. If you are more of a sportive person the Cardamom mountains offer you trekking in the jungle. You can explore the waterfall, do a boat trip in the mangroves, go for a day in Koh Kong island . Koh Kong has a lush nature from mangroves, waterfalls, the mountains and the beach it is a heaven for nature lovers.

The place is absolutely wonderful and cheeply accessible, the tenants are adorable, understanding and fun people.
