Dearest Leisa and Tim, Where to start? We feel beyond grateful to have spend our first weeks of our trip in Australia in the lovely Lovett Bay. There was no better way of starting our trip. From the second we've arrived we felt at ease and at home. There's no way for thanking you enough for the wonderful time we've had together! You are both such warm and generous people with a big heart and interest in others. We had a lot of fun helping you clean up the apartment. We've learnt new skills and enjoyed the good mix of hard work and free time where we could explore and do our own thing. The food was absolutely exquisite. Both of you are excellent chefs! Always happy to make us vegetarian meals, which we devoured with great relish. Also the environment is absolutely stunning! With lots of wallabies and birds, we weren't bored for a second. Tim, thank you for sharing your knowledge and stories with us. We really enjoyed your gentle company and learned a lot from you! Always there to help, with always a good sarcastic joke up your sleeve. Leisa, thank you for your sweetness, your warmth, your genuine interest... It has been such a pleasure meeting you. With your bright smile and your sparkling eyes, your energy is unmatched! Thank you for being you. You are 2 beautiful souls with an enormous spirit for life. We would have loved to have learned more about you and the crazy adventures you've done. You are a real inspiration to us ❤️ We hope we will be back soon to catch up and have a good time together! My stay with Jupita, Daniel, and little Williem was a truly wonderful experience. They are kind, welcoming, and friendly people who made me feel like part of their family from the very beginning. Thanks to them, I had the opportunity to experience everyday life in a warm family atmosphere and learn more about the Batak culture in Indonesia. I really admire their mission focused on ecology, education, and preserving the Batak cultural community. It is inspiring to see how much passion and care they put into their work and their local community. I truly hope their meaningful project will continue to grow and flourish in the future. Thank you again for your kindness, hospitality, and all the beautiful memories. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover authentic local culture and meet amazing people.

I had the best time here! We all cook together, eat together, go on hikes and share amazing moments! Alan and Dionny are so kind, they are super flexible, very joyful and they both love laughing:))

We had the most amazing stay with Naomi-san, Toru-san, Muku and Sousou. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcomed and comfortable. Naomi-san and Toru-san are such warm, authentic and thoughtful people . They both always ensured we were comfortable and we loved our conversations with them over dinner. Muku and Sousou are wonderful kids, who we had so much fun with. We will forever cherish our memories of playing uno together, doing the Naruto dance and conversing over a delicious meal. We will miss all the lovely home-cooked meals. The house is beautiful, nestled in the Shizuoka mountains, a short walk to a river. The work was fair and reasonable, as advertised on the Workaway profile. We highly recommend this Workaway for anyone wanting to connect with a beautiful family in an incredible location.

I had a wonderful time staying with Jill and Rob. They were warm, welcoming, and made me feel right at home. I really appreciated the flexibility to organise my own plans and schedule. We also shared many lovely meals together. Thank you for preparing rice for us, it was such a thoughtful touch! I especially enjoyed our conversations, from deep talks to casual chats, as well as our movie nights. My only regret is not staying longer. Thanks again for everything. I had a fantastic time. Absolutely amazing experience. It was my first time working at an animal farm and Ñaño, Angela and Rafi were so patient and kind with me. Ñaño makes amazing food including freshly baked bread. Angela really cares about workawayers and makes sure everything is okay. Rafi is an expert of the animals living there and her smile is just so sweet. What was originally planned as a 4-week stay turned into 7 weeks because I simply didn't want to leave. This was honestly one of the best volunteer experiences I've ever had. The team quickly became like a family. Everyone is incredibly kind, welcoming, and fun to be around. Working alongside such amazing people made every day enjoyable, and it never really felt like "work." I met some truly wonderful people here and made friendships that I know will last long after leaving El Paredón. I worked behind the bar, so I can mainly speak about that position. The job is very manageable, and the expectations are fair. During peak hours and especially during the bigger party events, things can get busy and a little stressful, but the work-life balance is excellent: The amount of free time compared to the working hours is more than fair. The hostel itself is absolutely incredible. The staff accommodation is very well equipped, and if you stay for a few weeks, there's even a good chance of getting your own room, which is an amazing bonus as a volunteer. The food from the kitchen is ridiculously good, the pool is perfect for cooling down during the hot afternoons, and there are plenty of other amenities like a small gym, a pool table, and table tennis. Overall, this is easily one of the coolest hostels I've ever stayed in. The atmosphere, the people, the location, and the overall experience exceeded all my expectations. I came for four weeks and stayed for seven. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable volunteer experience in El Paredón.

Absolutely amazing space with such warm hearted people. Dionny and Alan are great hosts. I’ll miss collecting corns from a field, making papas rellenas and just simply having fun with awesome people I met. Alan is super knowledgeable about all hikes you can do in the area and always helps people to organize their hikes. One of the best workaways ever. Thank you so much. I’ll cherish my time there forever.

Nanna se quedó un mes con nosotros, una chica muy hábil y prudente, ella es muy madura y ordenada, muy organizada, nos ayudó siempre en la casa y en el campo, le agradecemos siempre infinitamente su ayuda con las clases de ingles a los niños, ya que debido a que es un proyecto reciente está tomando forma y organización gracias a la ayuda de Nanna, ella tiene muchas habilidades para la enseñanza a niños. Muchas gracias por todo Nanna!

We only stayed for one week, but it was a truly memorable experience. This project gave us the opportunity to get a glimpse into rural life in Guatemala and contribute to something meaningful for the local community. The work was varied, enjoyable, and never boring. We spent time collecting mangoes (and eating plenty of them!), helping to create a small hiking trail, painting fences in the neighborhood, bringing pancakes to the local school, and playing, teaching, and spending time with the children. It was rewarding to see how even small efforts could have a positive impact. David and Catherine are wonderful hosts – incredibly friendly, welcoming, and inspiring people. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel at home. We are very grateful for this experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic cultural exchange, meaningful community work, and warm-hearted hosts. Thank you, David and Catherine, for a fantastic week!

Marina la francesita muy linda, muy relajada y muy trabajadora, muy fuerte, hizo muchas caminatas y además la escalada a la montaña Pisco, ella es una chica muy viajera y siempre con buena onda. Nos ayudó mucho en la cocina y en el campo, la recomendamos muchísimo. Y esperamos su promesa de que va a volver!

Minji! una chica muy conversadora y amiguera, se quedo más de 2 semanas con nosotros, nos ayudó en la limpieza y el riego de nuestros campos de maíz, además hizo muchos Treks como Santa Cruz, laguna 513, laguna 69 y escalada a Mateo. Ella es muy chevre y divertida, le deseamos lo mejor!

I had a great stay with Irena and am very grateful for the experience. She was welcoming, kind, and made me feel comfortable from the beginning. The work was fair and clearly explained, and I enjoyed learning about the local area and daily life. The accommodation was comfortable, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute while also having time to explore and experience the surroundings. Irena was always willing to share knowledge and have interesting conversations, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Marika, Dennis and Denise were such a welcoming family and we both felt at home within a couple of days. All the animals were such a treat to be around and we learnt a lot of different sustainable skills that were all just second nature there. It's definitely made an impact on how we live day to day now. Thank you for everything - we loved it. We're very grateful to having met this family!
