  Our family lives in a 130-year-old traditional Japanese house in the Satoyama area of ​​Shizuoka. We are my husband, myself, our two sons aged 9 and 7, a cat, and two dogs.
  My husband works in forestry, tea farming, and furniture making. I work in the fields and do tea dyeing while also taking care of the housework and animals in the traditional Japanese house.
  There are tea fields and a mountain behind the house, and a river nearby where you can go trekking. The traditional Japanese Satoyama scenery unfolds before you.

  夫は林業と茶業、家具製作をしています。私は古民家で家事や動物達の世話をしながら畑やお茶染めをやっています。

  Our home is a 130-year-old traditional house. We have a wood stove and a hearth. It is a mix of traditional and modern life. We value using our hands and feet, using our heads, and thinking when we move in our daily lives. We also value daily meals. We live in a rural area where tea and forestry are thriving, so we can feel delicious tea and cedar and cypress close to us. We live in the mountains, so the voices of birds and deer echo throughout the place, and there are no outdoor lights, so the stars are beautiful at night. We only speak Japanese, but we are eager to communicate. We enjoy communicating with people using translation apps and gestures. Of course, Japanese people are also welcome! Our children are loud and lively, so we are a very lively family. Our children also like books, manga, and watching movies. We want our children to experience many interesting things by being exposed to various cultures. We hope that everyone will play together and make the place even more lively!
  
  私達の住まいは築130年の古民家です。薪ストーブや囲炉裏があります。昔ながらの暮らしと現代の暮らしがミックスされています。暮らしの中で手足を使い、頭を使い、考えて動くことを大切にしています。毎日の食事も大切にしています。お茶と林業が盛んな里山なので、美味しいお茶と杉や檜を身近に感じることができます。山の中なので鳥や鹿の声が響き渡り、外灯が無いので夜は星がきれいです。私達は日本語しか話せませんが、コミュニケーションをとる意欲があります。翻訳アプリやジェスチャーで交流を楽しみます。もちろん日本の方も大歓迎です！子どもたちは声が大きくとても賑やかな家庭です。子どもたちは本、マンガ、映画鑑賞も好きです。子どもたちに様々な文化に触れて多くの面白いことを体験してほしいと思っています。みんなでたくさん遊んでより一層賑やかになることを期待しています！

  Help

  Mornings are early in our house, and breakfast is at 7am. I would be happy if you could live according to our rhythm. In the morning, I would like you to do the dishes, hang out the laundry, water the plants, and take care of the animals. After that, I would like you to mainly clean the house and do some simple crafts. In the afternoon, you have free time, and I would like you to do what you can that day, such as interacting with the children, walking the dog, and helping with cooking. I may also ask you to help with tea dyeing.
  I would be happy if you could teach the children how to play the guitar, ukulele, drums, and sing!
  
  I have learned something from spending time with several workawayers, so I will share it here as well. The work I ask of you often changes the plan, and I always change the plan to smoothly execute what I want to do in a day. I would be happy if you could respond flexibly to that, and I am very grateful that the workawayers so far have responded without any problems, and it is not difficult if you understand it in advance.
  Another thing is that when I am busy, for example, when I am getting ready in the morning or at dinner, I do a lot of work while helping the children get ready and listening to their stories. When you ask me if you can help me with something because you are concerned about how busy I am, there are times when I am unable to give you a job smoothly. If you encounter such situations several times, you will gradually feel stressed. It is necessary to have a meeting where we discuss with each other and decide on rules according to the situation. I would be happy if you are interested in a home with such a system!

  我が家の朝は早く、朝食は７時です。私達のリズムに合わせて生活してくれると嬉しいです。午前中は洗い物や洗濯干し、植物の水やり、動物たちのお世話をお願いします。その後は主に家の掃除や簡単な工作をお願いします。午後はフリータイム、子どもたちとの交流、犬の散歩、食事作りの手伝いなど、その日にやれることをお願いします。他にはお茶染めの手伝いをお願いすることもあるかもしれません。

  もう一つは私が忙しい時、例えば朝の支度時、夕食時、こどもたちの支度を手伝ったりこどもたちの話を聞きながら多くの作業しています。あなたが忙しくしている私を気遣ってなにか手伝いましょうか？と声を掛けてくださる時にスムーズに仕事を与えられない時があります。そのような場面に何度か遭遇すると次第にストレスを感じるでしょう。互いに話し合い状況に応じたルールを決めるミーティングが必要です。このような仕組みの我が家に関心を向けてくださる方だと嬉しいです！

  Accommodation

  Our old house has thin walls, so it is difficult to ensure privacy. You can either pitch a tent on the premises and sleep there, or park your camper van there. We can also lend you a room, so let's do it without overdoing it! Three meals will be provided. If you drink alcohol, please prepare your own. (There will be children, so please be careful not to drink too much!) If you are good at cooking, let's cook together! I love cooking, so I can teach you simple Japanese food. I am very interested in the cuisine of other countries, so please teach me!

  I have to tell you something very important, but for security reasons, we refuse to accept men only. Sorry. It is a 40-minute drive to the station. There are no convenience stores or shops nearby. Transportation is by car, bicycle, or bus. There is a nice whiskey factory nearby. There are also cafes and hot springs deep in the mountains. We value the rich nature of this area, daily life, connections with people, and daily meals. We also respect each individual's individuality. There are many things we want to do from now on. We may be able to do things that we can't do alone with a little help, so please lend us your strength! And please come and enjoy! During your stay, you may not feel the boundary between your private life and work. Mountain life is busy and there are many small tasks. We value sharing them, enjoying work, and enjoying each day. There are many friends with wonderful sensibilities around, so home parties are also popular, and we can show you many fun places!
