Deniel and Ora are good hosts. During our stay with them, we did some odd jobs at Deniel's in-laws' house, then cooked and ate together, visited the buffalo market, did some odd jobs at their house, went for a scooter ride one evening and then stopped for a bite to eat, and had a few days off to explore on our own. Daniel is a friendly person and helped us with our very poor English. Thank you, Deniel and Ora, for this wonderful opportunity!!!!

Kwan is an amazing host! His house in mid of the forest is such a peaceful place…you can see the sunrise and the sunset in between of the trees, accompanied by a cricket, bird and frog concert. The balcony is a perfect spot for making yoga with the sunrise and for having a nap in the hammock. The daily working schedule is perfectly adapted to the hot climate. I enjoyed it a lot to do gardening work (weeding, seeding, planting, watering,…).Thank you Kwan for confiding me the machines in your wood workshop, even though I didn’t have much experience with the machines! We even went to a school to teach organic farming to the local kids - a very unique experience to get an insight in Thai boarding schools! On our days off Kwan still found time in his busy schedule to show us nice spots around trat - a very rural region, where tourists still are rare. We went to a mangrove forest, to the beach, to a water reservoir for canoeing, to a very special prision, to local restaurants (one of them with 50+ eagles!), to the local market and to a waterfall with his amazing bikes (while Kwan went to Bangkok and confided us his house with all the work around!) I can truly recommend this place, if you’re looking for a unique, untouristic Thailand experience on a peaceful place, where you can connect to nature, learn about organic farming, woodworking and a funny host (don’t worry if don’t get his jokes immediately;)) who has a great vision to help local people, which should be supported!

I had such a lovely experience staying with the family. They are incredibly welcoming and kind. Rachel and John have grown to be my Irish parents even though I only stayed for one month. I felt at home straight away. I loved doing the tasks on the farm, especially feeding lambs, walking Vince, driving the quad bike and the teleporter and joking around with John (mainly making fun of each other and chasing sheep together). Thanks to him I even got to deliver a lamb, which is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. He's super thoughtful, relaxed and has a lot of cheeky remarks. None of the work was too difficult or hard. I learned a lot about farm work, despite the fact I come from a farm myself. I loved being surrounded by sweet animals, the cat Zeus is the silliest ginger cat ever and the dog Vince is an absolute sweetheart. It's been really calming for my mind and body to be out in nature with animals, I would recommend it to anyone. Rachel's presence is honestly so comforting, and she was truly my closest friend in Ireland. She's an amazing cook (her stew is the best I've ever had) and she knows a LOT. We talked lots and lots and not a single topic was off the chart with her, so I got to learn lots from her. She's very funny and super open as well. We had a great connection and I miss her loads already ;) The kids are really funny and have made me laugh numerous times. Tessa and Erika have a lot of silly jokes together, as do Cormac and Sarah. The latter are super chaotic together (we compared them to Crash and Eddie from Ice Age) but also really sweet. I highly recommend baking with Erika and drawing with Sarah, both have been really relaxing. Tessa has a terrific talent for music and sports. Cormac is super smart and passionate about the farm, we've done some tasks together as well. All kids are absolute sweet hearts and so unique in their own way. Overall, I'd 100% recommend this Workaway family. Although Sligo may be a bit far off the tracks, it also has its perks and the family definitely makes up for it. I had a great bedroom with a nice bed, access to plenty of delicious food and the family was super relaxed, making it feel like a holiday. They didn't mind driving me or bringing in groceries for me etc. I would love to visit them again some time. If you get the chance to visit them, I definitely would :)

These guys have already wonderful reviews. Before I accept their volunteering request, I checked their profile and I can't believe it! It was the first time that I saw many good reviews on a workaway profile. After my experience with working them I see that all reviews are completly correct. Mehrad and Rubi have a good hearth. They are always positive and energetic. They are ready to work with all the tasks that we need. It was easy to communicate with them. They brought joy to our hostel. Rubi is good at deep cleaning and make the places tidy. She is a painter. She likes to make art on the walls. Mehrad is good at handy works. He helped my husband for electricity and fixing. They both helped preparing breakfast and welcoming guests as well . Me, my husband and my staff have their good friendship right now. We wish them all the best.

My partner and I originally planned to stay one month but ended up staying for three. The experience we had with Agne, Michele and the rest of the family/friends was unforgettable. We got to experience quinticential Italian culture both from traditional and modern perspectives. It was hard to leave but hopefully we will be back. Agne, Michele, Zio Carlo & the family: Agne, Michele and Zio Carlo welcomed us into the family from day one. They took us along to meet their friends and included us in visits to see their parents and other family. Everyone was so kind and friendly, and it was a great experience for us to practice speaking more Italian. Zio Carlo was an absolute gem and my partner and I are really going to miss him and everyone else. The animals: All of the animals were low maintenance and easy to take care of. Skedja the cat and Mora the dog love a good head scratch and attention. Sepia was one of the fluffiest cats I have seen. Although it was our first time taking care of a pig, Ronaldo was chill and only required a daily feeding. There were three cute chickens who didn't require much attention either. Accommodation/Food: The house was always warm and we had our own room with a large and comfy bed. The bathroom had a bath which was nice to have a soak. The food was incredible, we were always well fed and the meals were made with wholefood and minimal processed ingredients. Agne and Michele were expert cooks and were happy to share their knowledge and techniques. Lunch and dinner times were our favourite as we all sat down to eat together. Daily tasks: The tasks were varied and tailored to our skill-set and interests but also the weather. If it rained Agne and Michele had tasks for us to do inside. Some examples include - building a workshop (digging holes, pouring concrete), removing old fencing, feeding and taking care of the animals, painting walls and furniture, tilling soil and planting seeds. Another handy aspect was that they provided us with clothing, boots, gloves etc. Location: The house is as at the top of a hill with a beautiful view of the valley and town below. The place was quiet and tranquil and on some days we could see snow on the surrounding mountain tops. We didn't have a car but had no issues getting around. There were train and bus stations both 10-15 minutes walk from the house. From there you can get to Arezzo in 30 minutes via train. There were also buses on a Sunday to Arezzo but limited to twice a day frequency. It was in a perfect location for travelling around to other parts of Toscana as well. Agne and Michele gave us some great recommendations. We were able to easily hire a car in Arezzo and see the beautiful hills of Siena, Perugia, Montepluciano and Therme di Saturnia to name a few. You can also visit Bologna by train or car.

I truly couldn't have imagined a more beautiful way to end my travel in New Zealand. Catherine and Martin embody generosity of heart, kindness, deep listening, and the simplicity that makes human relationships so meaningful and genuine. Their animals reflect perfectly who they are. Through their calmness and gentle presence, Sky and Lilly, the cows, the calves and the sheep quietly tell the story of how much they are loved and careful for. It feels like a little paradise, nurtured every day by people with truly big heart. The food and meat were a delight at every meal ... The woofing missions were rich and varied, offering valuable learning opportunities and always with great flexibility: calf training, chickens feeding, fences repairing, trees mulching ... always with a lot of fun! Thank you for your time, your trust, the shared meals, the laughter, the conversations, and all the small everyday moments that made this stay so special! I highly recommend being a woofer with Catherine and Martin, it will be an unforgettable experience. Best regards, Lucie

I am taking this opportunity to sincerely thank Sarah for the incredible time and beautiful moments she shared with my family and the entire community. Words alone cannot fully express how grateful we are for her presence among us. Sarah, you are truly amazing. From the very first day, you brought warmth, joy, and light into our home. Your kindness, humility, and genuine love for everyone around you created an atmosphere of unity and happiness that we will never forget. You did not simply visit us — you became part of our family. The laughter we shared, the meaningful conversations, and the countless precious moments will remain in our hearts for years to come. You touched lives across our entire community in ways that are deeply felt and sincerely appreciated. Your compassion and positive spirit left a lasting impact on each one of us. On behalf of my family, my community, and myself, I wholeheartedly recommend Sarah to any place or community she chooses to join. She is a blessing wherever she goes. Thank you for your love, your time, and your beautiful heart. We will always remember you with deep gratitude and affection. With lots of love and big hugs, Nixon

Kim and Benedetta were wonderful people to host. They were kind, respectful, and always happy to help. They also created a beautiful picture wall for us, which we truly appreciate. We would happily host them again anytime and warmly welcome them back.

Kia ora :) The last 3,5 weeks at the farm have been absolutely amazing ☀️ It was my second time volunteering with Lisa, and I am sure we will see each other again. The work on the land is diverse and it's just nice to connect with the place, I worked in the garden and did some renovations in the house. My highlights were the days working at the school in Taupo, learning about Māori culture , the afternoons at the river and the people I shared my stay with. Thank you Lisa for making me feel welcome, a part of farm and share your culture with me, I truly appreciate that. Kia ora Lisa ☀️

I had a great stay with Philippa. She picked me up from the airport, the work was very fair, and she made sure I was never hungry. I can definitely recommend staying with Philippa. I hope your book gets published soon!

I had a lovely time with Brenda, Ernest and their dog Hudson. They are very kind and interesting people with Lots of Life Experience. The work was fair, they shared a lot of interesting things to do and places to visit on the South Island, and they took me along to the Vintage Car Club which they are a member of (they even gave me a ride in some of their vintage cars!). Thanks again for the stay and all the interesting conversations! (And for the scones recipe which I'll definitely be making when I get back home)

My time at the village was truly special, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. A huge thank you to Pantila, Mae Nai, and Buddy for their incredibly warm hospitality, I felt at home. Thanks to them, I was able to experience such authentic local moments that made my stay even more meaningful and unforgettable. The kids were adorable, teaching them was a joy. And I can’t forget Tiger, the cutest cat ever, she was always around, so sweet and lovely, making every day brighter. The surroundings are also beautiful: waterfalls, scenic rice fields, cute cafés, everything feels peaceful and calm. It’s the perfect place to slow down, yet the city is so easy to reach whenever you need it. I’ll always carry these memories with me :)💛

My stay at Luc’s place went very well. I stayed for about two and a half weeks. I arrived through CGH airport and traveled only with local cash (no credit card possible for metro). I took two different metro lines and then one train, and about 1.5 hours later I arrived at the station near his central duplex. The apartment is well located and everything in this small town is within walking distance but bring an umbrella! Luc and her partner are very kind people. They prepare good vegetarian meals and sometimes propose activities such as going to the swimming pool or joining his personal gym coach session. The apartment is very spacious and you will have a comfortable private area. During the day, I was completely free and autonomous, with no specific daily tasks apart from the yoga-related responsibilities. Regarding the yoga, it is not dynamic yoga but more mantra-based, with a lot of speaking in Portuguese. I would recommend understanding Portuguese to fully appreciate the classes, as volunteers are expected to attend them (around 3 hours per day on average, and weekends are not necessarily off). The work mainly consists of cleaning and welcoming students. There are no strict house rules, apart from being clean and organized. Thank you for everything

We stayed with Eve and Jose for two and a half weeks in November. They are friendly hosts who live in a beautiful and very remote area, on a rescue farm with very sweet animals on one side and rental accommodations for guests on the other. Our accommodation was one on the rentals which was very nice and Eve cooked good lunches for us with products from their garden. Despite being very busy, she made a point of sitting down with us a little bit every day while we had lunch. However, we were by ourselves most of the time and as we were very far from the first town, we had few interactions with locals and our Spanish didn’t improve much. Regarding the work, the tasks were varied but they could be physical as they often entailed the use of a wheelbarrow. It was fun working with donkeys looking over our shoulders but we also had to be on the lookout as dear Billie Boy is always up to no good, while Charlie is adorable and very cuddly! When the work proved too difficult for us building the foundation of the donkey shed from stone and cement, Eve and Jose hired local contractors to finish the work. On the weekends, we drove our car and discovered the surrounding areas and attractions: Gibraltar, Ronda, Seville, Estepona, and Tarifa to name a few places.

I went last December planning to volunteer for only a week, but ended up extending my stay. Living with Ajay, Bina, and the kids truly felt like home away from home. Working at the school, Ajay gave us the freedom to teach subjects that interest us. I focused on teaching art (so fun!), but also did a little bit of everything—math, science, physical fitness. The students are all so curious, smart, and resourceful. Even though I was there as a teacher, it honestly felt like I learned far more from just getting to know them. Every night at the family home, we’d usually be in the kitchen, helping sweet Emi (their teenage daughter) prepare food/tea, or playing with Additi and Adeesh. Sometimes, we’d also help Bina with gardening where most of the vegetables we eat come from :) We would also usually have long talks with Ajay about almost everything… he imparted so much support and valuable lessons that I’ll always carry with me. Thank you G.O.D family!! I’d love to see everyone again in the future for sure.

I stayed almost three months at Simone’s house, and there is so much I could say about that time. I am incredibly grateful for those months. The house is truly special — so beautiful and filled with history and stories that you can feel in every corner. There is always something to do, yet never any pressure. Everything flows naturally and peacefully. The dogs are so kind and loving — I miss them already. And of course, Simone herself — one of the most welcoming and genuine people I have ever met. She has the warmest heart and makes you feel at home from the very first moment. I had the most beautiful months there, and I will always carry those memories with me. Thank you thank you!

I spent 2 wonderful weeks with Ada, Jarrah, Leia and Lenox (and of course Bella). It was amazing experiencing what life in the Daintree Rainforest is like and all the beauty they are surrounded by. They took me to Cape Tribulation, swimming in the creek, Mossman Gorge, a Croc tour with Jarrahs dad Bill and Port Douglas. I enjoyed exploring a new part of the country and the oldest rainforest in the whole world! I mostly helped watch the kids, bake with Leia, cook dinner, clean the house and help wherever needed. Since the kids aren't currently in daycare we read, played games, swam and took them on different outings. Sharing stories with them, their family and friends over meals were a highlight for me. I had never spent much time in the rainforest so understanding more about it was interesting! They have a beautiful property and when it rained it was so peaceful. Eating fruits like mangosteen, banana, jackfruit and durian from their friend and being able to collect eggs from their chickens was also great. Thank you Ada and Jarrah for your hospitality!

We spent five months collaborating at the Retreat Center and had a truly enriching experience. We learned a lot, overcame challenges, met people from all over the world, and lived each day to the fullest. The work was dynamic and the tasks were shared among the team, and there was always a spirit of collaboration, with everyone helping one another. At the end of the day, we shared meals, great conversations, and lots of laughter, which created a warm, welcoming, family-like atmosphere. On our days off, we had the opportunity to explore the beautiful country of Montenegro, with its stunning beaches and picturesque towns such as Budva, Kotor, and Cetinje. In addition, the retreat center itself is located within a National Park, surrounded by nature, which makes the experience even more special. We are very grateful for the opportunity and for everything we experienced. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, transformative experience full of learning.
