Rosa was an absolute pleasure to have with us. She is incredibly neat, organized, and thoughtful in everything she does. You can truly feel her kindness and positive energy around the house — she blends in naturally and makes things feel easy. And the food… wow. Her Italian cooking is on another level. Every meal was made with care, and her tiramisu was honestly one of the best we’ve ever had — rich, perfectly balanced, and completely unforgettable. We would happily host Rosa again anytime and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, warm-hearted, and exceptionally talented in the kitchen.

This was David and Petra’s first volunteering experience together, and they left a great impression. They were hardworking self-starters who planned and researched each task to a high standard. They paved under the hórreo, upgraded bathroom mirrors to LED lighting, and carefully weeded and mulched the huerta and trees. Petra also helped with the horse, sharing some wonderful rides. While they didn’t fully integrate with the family, as much as we hope —perhaps due to language—they were a delight to host. They helped us so much, any host would be very lucky to have them & we wish you both all the best in your future endeavours.

I had a great experience working with Lautaro! Days spent doing simple manual labour, picking berries, gardening etc. With lots of coffee and good food! He treats volunteers as if they are family and is a very hospitable and honest good person. Made some great friends through this workaway and spent most of our off time swimming in the lake, fishing (to no success), visiting hot springs and just relaxing. Definitely recommend!

We joined Alexandros, Claire, Spirit and Naiomi for 4 weeks at the end of the olive harvest season. So we finished the harvest period with Alexandros and a local. After the harvest was done, we had the chance to see and learn about and help with the pruning process. Alexandros is a pleasure to work with and has a big knowlegde about olives and oliveoil, about the Mani and much more which is a pleasure for him to share. Claire visited us in the fields whenever it was possible for her for a cultural and expierience exhange. We have had a wonderful time with them and recomment this amazing holistic workaway to anyone. The work can be physically demanding at times but we had adapted fast. Claire and Alexandros always checked on our well being and know the challanges this kind of work might have and try to support you as much they can (for example with magnesium :D). The house for us workawayer was also nice, with a stunning view over the village and the sea. We had a lot of food with fresh vegetables from the market and picked fresh oranges together from the tree for juice. Claire organized every 2-3 days fresh bread and nothing was missing. Alexandros and Claire also organized, offered and recommended us many activities to show us the area and learn about the culture. They joined us for playing cards with the whole team, made some very nice workshops with us and went out for food. They were incredible hosts and lovely people, thanks to you for this wonderful experience. We had a great time and wish you all the best for the future! Lovely greetings from Lisa and Dustin <3

It was really great having Jack here at the project. He's a super easy-going, positive and upbeat guy who was very helpful and interesting to talk with. He has a youthful and playful attitude that makes for a light and enjoyable atmosphere, he asks really thought-provoking questions that created very intriguing conversations and he was very open-minded to different perspectives. He was a big help from planting to jungle reforestation, helping build a hut, harvesting fruit and vegetables, making some nice food, and he was extremely diligent about washing dishes and keeping the living space clean which everyone greatly appreciated. He was often then one to suggest playing games or doing some kind of group activities, he has many creative ideas in the work we did together, and he was also self-motivated to work on projects both with other volunteers and on his own. He is highly recommended for any other project he would like to contribute to, thanks so much Jack for joining us and sharing your positivity, humor, and kindness here, Wishing you an awesome time on the rest of your adventures and with the rest of your future.. Muchas gracias amigo!!

It was an amazing volunteer experience in Bigeh Island in Aswan, Egypt. I learned a lot about the Egyptian culture especially from the Nubians, which they are the most hardworking people I’ve met. I learned at least 30+ Arabic phrases that are useful. I learned about the process of Egyptian art painting, which is pretty fascinating and I enjoyed doing it. Also every morning I will prepare the fruit salad, which consisted of mangoes, guavas, figs, bananas, melons, strawberries, oranges, apples and kiwis. Also remember to put tahini and molasses in your fruit salad. Also the Egyptian food, such as foul and babaganoush were absolutely delicious. I also helped with digging, composting, gardening and variety of other tasks. On my free time, I explored at least 90% of the island and I’ve discovered some interesting things. I slept inside a tent, which was very comfortable. The highlight of this trip was having those bond fires where we share stories, making roasted Nubian coffee, playing music and singing. Overall, I highly recommend anyone to volunteer in this beautiful island!

Alexa was part of our family for three weeks in January-February 2026, although it seems a longer time to us, so quickly and effortlessly she fitted into our family management. She is a very sweet, helpful, and always smiling girl, and she loves to interact with children spontaneously and sensitively. She understands Italian well and she speaks it quite well. She was a patient Spanish teacher for me, correcting my mistakes and teaching me many new words; she also taught us many interesting facts about Mexican culture. She always diligently completed every task requested, contributing to family life and willingly eating any food offered. We will miss her greatly and we truly hope to see her again in the future.

It was my first volunteering experience and it was good. Howard was quite friendly and welcoming. I had a good 2 weeks volunteering at his hostel. I thought the staff was great as well. I made some friends. I had good conversations. I also had a good time exploring the area around Howard's hostel.

She was very responsible even when I had to leave the ranch at times she carried out her tasks with efficiency. I genuinely wish her great luck in her adventures in the future.

Overall the experience has been satisfying; the family is very welcoming, kind and helpful. Importantly, communication is fast and clear. They are also genereous people; they usually invite workawayers also to join some activities (e.g.: invited me for a little hike nearby). Tarek is very open to share his knowledge and anecdoctes and this makes the work lighter and more pleasant. Note that the house is about 45 min/1 hour ride from Cairo and it's located in a calm, comfortable area.

We feel really grateful for the seven weeks we shared with Deana. From the moment she arrived, she settled into family life with ease and generosity. She brought a calm, capable presence into our home and a real love of contributing. Her thoughtfulness showed up in so many small daily ways: cooking apple and cinnamon pancakes for the kids “just because,” quietly keeping the kitchen and laundry ticking along during the day, and somehow finding joy in organising cupboards we had long avoided! Nothing ever felt transactional - she genuinely cared about helping. One of the biggest gifts was her love of cooking. Planning weekly menus together became a lovely rhythm, and it was such a gift to come home to a warm, home-cooked meal during the week. She brought creativity and care to the table, and it made family evenings feel easier and more relaxed. She also formed good connections with our children. Teaching new card games, making paper snowflakes, kicking a football around, being a patient card-trick audience. Over Christmas she became part of our wider family too — puzzles, games, laughter, extended family visits — she joined in wholeheartedly and made memories alongside us. We also appreciated how independently she explored life here — walking into Frome, discovering Catherine Hill, meeting locals, travelling to Bath and Bristol — she really embraced the place, not just our home. She was respectful of space, easy to communicate with, flexible, and genuinely kind. Having her stay felt less like hosting and more like welcoming an extra family member for a season. We would absolutely recommend her to any future hosts. With gratitude, Robbie & Sarah

From the first day I felt totally at home and super comfortable at Juans house. Juan is a incredibly welcoming and generous person who enjoys living the patagonia countryside life to the fullest and loves cooking asados for everyone. For him it goes without saying to share everything. The house is really well equipped, with a large kitchen, hot water and big garden. Juan also has two horses, Augustina and Esperanza, and Max, one of the most adorable dogs you will ever meet. He loves coming for runs or walks to the lake, which is just 10 mins walking away and stunning for kayaking or swimming. Besides that you have a beautiful hike to cerro lolog starting literally at the next corner. The next town is a 30 min car ride away but it's quite easy to catch a ride with hitchhiking. However, right at the lake you will also find a couple of restaurants and a small mini market. The tasks were always well structured and then done mostly independently or together with other volunteers. Thank you Juan for so generously welcoming us to your home sharing a bit of the Argentinian Patagonia experience with us. Already excited to hopefully see you soon again!

I thank Anne very much who opened the doors of her home and her family, with a lot of peat I explained each of the tasks and always with a smile, she made the place very comfortable, in addition to being the best in choosing a route to get to know the nearby area of the Alps, for those who like to do a Route. Super grateful for having made this experience a beautiful memory in France. I thank Hugo who explained in detail the correct and healthier way to use the tools in the field, important information to have for a healthy life on a farm. It is a magnificent experience where you can learn more about rural life, permaculture, learn about healthy cooking and also enjoy beautiful landscapes. Thank you for the meals, for the opportunity to learn and for letting me share with the family. It's a good memory of my trip to France. I wish you a lot of love and success in every project you propose! Roni!

Our experience was fabulous, feeling more like a house sitting than a traditional volunteering project. Sunil's father welcomed us and picked us up from Hospet to take us to the farm. We were very well received and slept in an adobe house where we could relax and sleep surrounded by nature. The project is very chill, essentially a blank canvas with no structured tasks required of volunteers, other than feeding the adorable cats and watering the plants. This allowed us to either relax or contribute by finding things that could be useful to the farm, like helping construct new dormitories and developing a channel irrigation system that will hopefully water the field for many years. The area is beautiful, and the entire countryside is very nice. Sunil provided many ingredients, but we also complemented them with diverse things we bought for our own taste. Crucially, we were provided with a motorbike, which allowed us to travel freely, explore the local villages, and visit Hampi. It's worth noting that without the motorbike, one might feel a bit trapped, so it's best to know how to ride. A big thank you to Morgen, the other volunteer who made the experience much more fun and pleasant, and taught us a lot about natural construction. And a huge thank you to Sunil, the host, and his father, who welcomed us and made us feel very comfortable and helped us with everything we needed.

Raven stayed just a short time with us and did so much work , she's a very relaxed spirit who is easygoing, friendly, great fun and a joy to have around. She worked really well with the other workawayers we had at the time, yet also worked independently and didn't need to be told what to do or need supervision, she has great eye for detail and a great personality. She easily blended into our family. I recommend her to any host, and wish her good luck in her adventures.

We helped him build his new restaurant and set up the social media for it. We also helped with housekeeping and cooking at the guesthouse he runs. He was our teacher in every way because he carefully taught us the details of our work, and he also taught us how to play in nature and to have true wealth, regardless of work. He helped us more than we helped him, and he treated us like real family. The food served here is the best Sri Lankan food we have ever had, and I can honestly say that. He was very interested in our language, so we enjoyed teaching each other our languages every day. I'm grateful for the whole experience. Super. Hallelujah.

We stay two weeks in the farm and it was an incredible experience. Life on the farm is very peaceful, everyone is friendly and welcoming. We organize ourselves with the other volunteers and worked 5 days a week, 5 hours per day. Being a tour guide is very fun, you get to meet a lot of people, exchange and learn a lot about pepper and agriculture. I would definitely recommend to anyone this workaway, it's a unique experience!
