I am a bit late to let my feedback…
I spent a total of 2 months last summer with Margo and Pearse’s family. 15 days late June as a last minute to help them and I came back on the 23rd of July for 1,5 months as it was originally planned.
Margo and Pearse are very welcoming and generous, I felt at ease since my first day.
They both included me in
… read more their activities and introduced me to their friends with a great pleasure. I went with them to the lake for their daily swim. I tried but the water was too cold for me ;-) I went to see a concert in Limerick and also listen to a group of traditional music in a pub with Pearse. I went with Margo to watch a documentary about Palestine which was very interesting even if a bit sad of course and we went to a bathing song session together, it was a great first time for me. She also invited me to participate to her healing night but I finally couldn’t as my daughter came to see me at that time. I thank them so much for that. They were so kind to let me free time to see my daughter and they even welcomed her at home! They also proposed me twice to sleep a few days in their caravan because I didn't have any other place to stay.
I had my days OFF during the week and worked the weekends when they were out. My work was shared between outside (I mainly did gardening, so much weeding ;-) but I love that) and inside (I vacuumed, cleaned the floor, windows, kitchen so many times per day!, bathrooms, etc.). I also did the lifts for their daughters to go to work during the weekends and looked after the chickens, Pico (a friend’s cute dog) and Lila (their lovely cat).
During the week, I mainly spent my days with Pearse and really enjoyed our conversations about every subject, even taxes! Ahah! We usually spent dinners all together and I appreciated a lot our relaxing conversations with Margo by night.
I stayed in a comfortable wood cabin in the garden with a loo, sink, microwave, etc. and a chimney (very useful as I am very sensitive to the cold even despite my 5 quilts!!). The shower is in the main house but it was not a problem for me.
The house is in the countryside, it was OK for me as I had my own car but they can easily give you lifts if needed. It’s a nice place to stay and Margo & Pearse always have a lot of projects for their house and garden so, you will never get bored!
@Margo & Pearse, thanks again for your generosity and everything!Left by host for Workawayer (Valerie)
I am so very grateful to Valerie, she was to come to us in August and we had a last minute change of plan re workawayers and we were very stuck and I reached out to Valerie and asked her to come early if at all possible. Valerie kindly changed her plans to help us out. Thank you so much.

Who ever chooses to host Valerie will find they have a gem in her.
I wish her the very best as she continues her workawayer experience and can't wait to have her back again with us.
Thank you for everything Valerie from all of us including Pico
Bonjour, J'ai séjourné chez Margo, Pearse, Finn, Naoise, Saerlaith durant deux périodes de 15 jours au début de l'été dernier. Let me start by saying having Colette was a fantastic experience for our family. She is always smiling, happy, and energised. We were blessed that Colette choose to come to us twice, over the summer. It was a great experience hosting Caroline, she was so willing to do every task that we asked. This family is grand. From the first day, I felt very welcome, and that feeling lasted the entire duration of my stay. They are caring, friendly, and fun. Margo is like a superwoman, always happy and with a bright smile on her face. She has an energy that is a blessing to be around. She is very impressive in her way of life, the work she does, and her way of talking with others.
Pearse is one of the most patient, calm, and caring people I have ever met. He has loads of different talents, which makes it easy for him to come up with good ideas and the know-how to make any project in the house or garden possible.
They are a lovely couple and great parents, which is also very apparent in their three wonderful adult children with whom they share a great connection and family bond.
I enjoyed all the lovely family dinners and all the time we spent together. Meeting Pearse, Margo, Finn, Naoise, and Saerlaith (and all the other people who regularly visited them) was a pleasure.
Some of the work I did included painting two shelves and some walls, using a sander, some cleaning, organizing, and cooking and before I did the work, they always asked me and made sure that I was okay with the tasks given, which was very thoughtful.
Thanks again for having me!This workawayer has chosen to keep their profile private, but can be contacted regarding this feedback by other workawayers.

I experienced wonderful and beautiful life with their family for 2 weeks. It was my first workaway and I was a little nervous, but they were welcomed warmly and let me be like a member of family. From the moment you meet them you will feel at ease with their warm and friendly personalities.

She also took me to many other activities, so there was never a time to be bored. I really appreciated the nature, the warmth of the family, and the Irish culture.

Mirei has been a blessing to our family and we are really sad to see her go. She has been with us for just 2 short weeks and has completed every task asked of her with great willingness and joy. 1 week stay, a lot of different jobs and a lot of fun! Margo reached out to me while I was on another workaway near Kilkenny, and after reading her profile and chatting with her, I couldn't refuse to come and help her. A lovely time with a lovely family 😊

I enjoyed chatting with Margo over hot chocolates, we talked about different ways of looking at life and living in this world. Margo is an incredible altruistic person, always caring and helping whenever she can.
During my time off, I explored Nenagh, a charming little town near Lough Derg. Margo and Pearse were happy to drop me off whenever they drove into town. Margo invited me to accompany her on her evening out with friends, and I had a memorable time singing karaoke in a pub with people I'd never met before 😂 That night was epic, thanks again Margo!
Thanks also to both of you for our movie nights, which were perfect after a day's work. 😊
I’d be happy to come back whenever I can and help you finish the polytunnel 😁
PS: If you like fantasy novels or books in general, Naoise will be happy to share her reading list with you!
PPS: thanks Finn for helping me finding things around the kitchen 😂Left by host for Workawayer (Alice)
We only had Alice with us for a week and during that short time she was very helpful with many projects we are working on. Always a pleasure to work

This is my first experience as a Workaway and I am really happy and grateful to have shared it with Pearse and Margo who are really incredible person. Pearse and Margo are generous, funny, adorable and kind people who always made sure I had everything I needed and made me feel at home. I had the opportunity to share some activities with them like going swimming at the lake every afternoon. The water was cold but I loved every moment spent with them, their sense of humour, Pearse's jokes and the little night chats with Margo after work all of which I will miss.
I really enjoyed life in Nenagh. I'm happy to have stayed so long and to have been able to carry out your project to build a cabin. It taught us a lot but every moment spent building the cabin was really special. Between the jokes and the laughter,I only have good memories.
Thank you for your patience, I arrived with a really beginner's level but you still took the time to raise my level of English and now I can express myself. Margo who always corrected me whenever I made grammar mistakes, a very good teacher. Thank you Naoise for cooking, a very good cooker.
The town of Nenagh is tiny but incredibly rich in attractions, as are the surrounding areas, such as Roscrea Castle. I hope that one day we can spend this evening together in a pub listening to Irish music.
I won't forget you so soon, it was a pleasure to have known you. One day if I have the opportunity to come back, I'll be happy to do so in shaa allah. And if one day you come to Mayotte I'll be happy to welcome you in my turn. Grazie mille and as Margo so aptly put it amigo para siempre.
