Speaking of food- Robbie is an excellent cook, I miss the food already! The kids are really great and definitely full of energy, so be prepared :D And Edith really is excellent in monopoly!! With the dog as a "third child" there is certainly always something going on in the house. I learned a lot about parenting and dog care.
I had lots of free time to explore Frome (really really beautiful little town!) and the family took me on their family trips as well.
The talks I had with them really helped me to improve my English and they are so kind, understanding and easygoing.

Originally, I planned to stay with Robbie, Winnie, Edith, and Ewan for about a month while I looked to relocate to Frome. But, as life often surprises us, I ended up staying with them for a wonderful six months, including a stretch of house-sitting while they were in Thailand! Edith and Ewan are such lively and unique individuals; it's been a pleasure getting to know them. Sarah and Robbie are very caring and are there for any need (like the picking up from the airport). They want to discover the world and learn more about different cultures. They always involved me in all their activities. Thanks to that I had the opportunity to know a lot of their friends and family members, who were all very kind towards me.
The children are a force of nature: they are full of energy and imagination! On sunny days we swam a lot and on rainy days we went climbing or we played board games (be aware: Edith is unbeatable at monopoly!!).
I had my own floor with a bedroom and a bathroom. Arrangements could be made very easily, so that it wasn’t a problem at all if I wanted to go for a solo trip for a day. My tasks were to help with some houseworks and with the children, but I was alone with one or both of them only for a couple of day, otherwise there was either Sarah or Robbie at home with us.
All in all, I really enjoyed the family time and all the beautiful adventures they gave me the opportunity to live! You are so special!!! Totally recommend!

Super host! I cant but recommend Sarah and Robie's family. Communication was easy all along. Even if our needs didnt completely match (period, lenght of stay) we decided on both sides to give it a go and that was an absolutely good decision. My daughter and I felt at home from day one. … read more issues while the kids played spinball (or was it swingball? stringball? whatever) in the beautiful garden with amazing view on somerset fields and endless monopoly games when the weather was wet and cold. We evem went on a camping trip to cornwall together and that was so good.
The house is perfect for workawayers, we had a floor for ourselves with private bathroom and access to the rest of the (roomy) house. Frome is a very good place to spend a couple of weeks, it's a small town but it has all you need: coffe shops, bookshops, so many charity shops where you can get good deals and - I was pretty impressed - none of those chain stores that make all places the same.

I‘ve stayed with this lovely family for 4 weeks. In the first two weeks I‘ve travelled with a good friend of mine. Although it was not planned, Sarah and Robbie warmly welcomed both me and my friend into the family. Even before arrival we found the family very friendly. Sarah and Robbie took care of the pick up from the airport as well as the drop off, so we felt very welcome right away. After arrival, we were first shown the house. During the stay we owned the bottom floor with one guest room and seperate bathroom each. After that we went with the parents to the city and they showed us the main places.
The family house is very central and you can reach most things on foot. Supermarkets as well as drugstores or small stores are very close by. During the stay we had the possibility to use one of the cars of the family, so that we could be very flexible in undertakings.
Our main tasks were to take care of the children. At the beginning of the day we took the boy to school and picked him up when he was finished. After that we played and in the evening we helped to put them to bed. Especially on weekends we went on many excursions. Thereby we got to know many different friends of the family, who were all very warm and open towards us. Among others we were camping, went to Bath, were swimming and also in London for four days. All in all it never got boring in the family. Arrangements could be made very easy with the parents, so that it was no problem at all if you wanted to go to another city for a day.
Sarah and Robbie at all times made sure that we were well and took care of both, the financial matters and our well–being.
In conclusion, we had a very nice time with the family and can definately recommend them!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
