    Description

I am a busy individual juggling a couple of part time jobs with a 3 bedroom house located in Skibbereen town . The house is located in an estate 10 minutes walk from centre with a small garden .
Help consists of looking after my dog Gaston while I’m at work , to keep the house tidy and ideally someone who would like to help me with some of my projects . . I am a very outdoor person , I forage various plants/ fruits/ mushrooms/ seaweed to create various wonderful foods/drinks.
I also build poly tunnels , I do some private gardening , some private catering and some house removals with my large van . I’m hoping to start giving cooking / pickling / Cordial making classes this year if I can find the time and the right person to shadow me and help me look after my dog and with logistics .
If you have read all of this, by now you may have guessed that my life isn’t very conformist and that I more than likely have adhd .
I am someone that’s quite independent, sensitive and anxious , I’ve got waves of hyperactivity usually followed by a stint of overstimulation , so I’m looking for someone who is understanding , who can adapt and who is independent . I have waves of sociability but I do need my own space so I’d be looking for someone who understand that and that can adapt to me and my rhythm.
I used to play music in a band for years, but have barely played in 8+ years , something I’d like to try revive this year .
With all of this info you have a fair idea now of who I am and what I do :) any questions , ask away :)

Gaston is my dog , he is a Red setter / border Collie mix , and he is my world . I’ve no kids , very little family so my dog is very important to me . I am looking for someone who knows how to deal with high energy dogs and who understand that they need authority and who wants to be with him . I’ve hosted people that would prefer to chill in a different room to him when I was away . That is not what I am looking for .
I am looking for someone who I can trust and who will acknowledge and respect my directives regarding my dog . He will need regular walking and playtimes while I’m away , when I am there I like to walk him myself in the evening . It’s very important that I feel he is safe and loved when I am not there .
    That’s my number one prerogative!
After that I cook almost every night apart from the odd pizza take away , which means a bit of washing up for you the next morning , brushing / hoovering , overall keeping the place tidy . I will do a good bit myself if I am not busy.
I forage a lot so if you are interested , you will learn a lot by coming along with me .
. I will drive you where you want to go if I can and will help you plan any trips you want to do if can .

Situated on the outskirt of Skibbereen in a quiet estate with a small garden, 10 min walk to town and 15 min walk to bus. Having a car helps but it’s not essential . I take my dog to the various beaches and woodlands around as much as I can . being independent and responsible is important as I will not have much time to give you during the busy season , unless you come with me foraging . the house is comfortable and I will make best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible . It would be an ideal base for anyone who wishes to stay in beautiful west cork for a few weeks / months.
I am looking for someone who isn’t judgemental and set in their ways , and who understands that this is an exchange and not a Bnb. Not everything will be perfect , if it were , I wouldn’t need any help ! I had a Workaway last year who stayed for 4 months and we got on great. Karine left a review below , if you would like a second opinions , you can message her . If you have any questions don’t hesitate .
