I really loved spending a few weeks at this very special place, located beautifully between Mount Etna and Catania. It was a pleasure to meet Dani and to support him a bit in creating this small world full of peace, creativity and appreciation for the uniqueness of every single being. There were different tasks like weeding, preparing and finalising the recently built yurt and just being a part of the creative flow of bulding, organising and also discovering new ideas and possibilities. Dani is such a gentle, loving and caring person who genuinely values you for who you are and is full of gratitude for the support he receives. Also he shared a lot of his precious knowledge about movement and health and I am grateful for all the exchanges of wisdom, beliefs and knowledge with him and the other beautiful souls around. I will definitely come back and am looking forward to seeing you again! Thank you so much for this special time. Much Love!

Paul was a great Workawayer to have around for a few days. He was willing and able to help me build my tiny house. His skills were obvious, and he was patient and respectful as we discussed our plan of action. Paul was glad to join our family activities and also took some time on his own to explore the area. Thanks Paul, good travels!

We spent two incredible weeks in this lush, green place 🌿✨ We highly recommend this WorkAway to anyone in the area! The setting is absolutely amazing, right in the middle of the rainforest, surrounded by nature and peace. The accommodation is really well designed: we each had our own bedroom, and there’s a large fully equipped kitchen where we could cook whatever we wanted, just like at home. The rhythm was perfect, with around 3 hours of work per day. We painted horse fences and took care of the animals… and what animals! 🐴🐄🐐🐓 4 horses, 5 cows, 3 goats, and around ten chickens, all super cute. They also adapted really well to the weather, and for organization, we were always informed the day before about the tasks to do, which was very convenient. It’s necessary to have a car to get around, but the location is ideal: only 25 minutes from shopping centers and the beach, which is really great. The team on site is very welcoming and always ready to help with the tasks. A huge thank you to Stéphanie, her husband, and her mother — they are wonderful people ❤️ We leave with amazing memories and a beautiful human experience. Thank you for everything!

Georg was an excellent Workawayer, and a great guest to have around. We had great conversations, and Georg was very respectful of our space. Georg's help building my tiny house was exceptional. He took initiative and taught me all kinds of techniques. I literally had to stop him from going on working as our long working day was finished. We've accomplished a lot in a short time. I highly recommend Georg to any Workaway host.

This was my first WorkAway experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one. I stayed for 3 months. Villi is incredibly awesome and a person everyone should know. I'm a gluten-free vegetarian and he accommodated my dietary restrictions perfectly! He's very intentional with the community he builds around his business and the house was always filled with so much positivity, love, joy, and light! It's was the most perfect experience I could've asked for and I'm incredibly sad to leave. I would definitely come back and I know that I've made a friend who feels like family now, for life.

Thank you, Jean, for this wonderful time with all its qualities that I was able to spend in your little castle. Thank you also for all the trust you placed in me, and thank you for being you; you have become a new role model for me. (That made THREE – wink) An elderly lady, as "crazy" as ever, you are an admirable person in every respect. I am so glad to have met you. Besides English lessons, help with translating my book, good conversations, bowling, tapas, meeting friends, and last but not least, our shared hobby of photography and travel. I thoroughly enjoyed our good conversations, and your unique sense of humour brought me joy. Besides my duties, primarily driving, cooking, and other little things, I was able to spend a lot of free time traveling through Andalusia and in my/your little apartment. The double cultural exchange with Spain and England was also enriching, and I hope we'll see each other again sometime.

What a fabulous way to start my vacation! I felt welcomed and at home from the very first moment. Heidi showed me her favorite beaches, where we went swimming and explored the local sea life. We also joined a fun trivia night, with her husband Roman and their friends.....we even won....of course without cheating. Heidi is an incredibly hardworking person—keeping up with her can be a challenge, but it’s always fun! We had many enjoyable conversations while working together, which made the whole experience even more special. I loved getting so much insights in Aussi day to daylife. Hope we can see each other again someday. Cheers Barbara Take care

Linn and Paul are a great couple. They worked really hard on our first project. We had to cut back our big trees that were hitting our house. They carted everything away (uphill) and sometimes in bad weather. We really appreciated their hard work and diligence. After that they were taught how to look after our hens, roosters and our cat. They showed real care for our animals. We were able to go away for a few days because we knew they were trustworthy, reliable, and had a genuine love of animals. We enjoyed their company very much. They are very sweet, polite and considerate to live with. We highly recommend them, especially for animal care, as I know that this is what they really love to do.

I feel extremely privileged to have had the pleasure of Brigitte’s help and joyful company in my home for the past two months. Her wealth of experience gained from her previous work and worldwide travel has enabled her to adapt to almost any situation. She is empathetic, incredibly versatile and fantastic fun.Our shared interest in photography and travel was also a real bonus . She proved herself to be an excellent chauffeur, wonderful cook, experienced gardener, cleaner, etc etc.She uses her initiative to notice what needs doing and just confidently gets on with the job. What more could one need? Brigitte likes warm weather, but despite a spell of unusually cooler temperatures, she remained unfailingly cheerful. She brought her own sunshine here with her warm smile, her positive outlook on life and her vivacious personality. I shall miss her in so many ways and hope we will remain in contact. There will always be a welcome here.Keep on dancing Brigitte!

Kosta was just with us a couple of days but was very willing to pitch in with our gardening / landscaping projects. He got along well with everyone and always volunteered to do the dishes after meals. We wish him well in his travels.

We shared two weeks with this family a few months ago and it was a unique experience during our journey - peaceful, fun, touching and enriching. Their home is a place to slow down, embrace simplicity, reflect and learn. Each day brought something new, shaped by the moment’s needs, with plenty to discover and to help out with. We loved cooking together, walking the dogs, gardening, playing games, crafting with bamboo and helping with social media. Above all, this was a human experience and getting to know them was heartwarming. Being with strangers is not always easy, but their natural warmth and the way they genuinely care about people put us at ease. Somlid generously shared with us his knowledge of bamboo, plants, and the art of living harmoniously with nature. Thanks to him, we did things we’ve never done before! Nina embodies kindness, bringing calm and inspiration to those around her. We could talk endlessly with her. Anou is creative, caring and sharp-minded, always ready for games or lively exchanges. Santi shows openness and boundless imagination, spontaneously connecting with people around him. Not to mention their lovely animals - we miss “der Kuno von Zürich” and all the others. We left with many memories and often think of them, even today we still say “Lumpä” to name a dishcloth. We recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for connection and community. Vielen Dank!!

I spent one month at Karoliina's place, and it was a truly wonderful experience. My tasks included taking care of the dogs, cleaning, and organizing the room. They were simple and I enjoyed them. Karoliina always made me feel comfortable and welcomed, and the people around her were lovely as well. Before my arrival, she kindly arranged the schedule very flexibly, which allowed me to spend time with another Workawayer and made my stay even more enjoyable. The nature in Kilpisjärvi was very special to me. I am grateful for the opportunity to meet everyone and to visit this beautiful place. Thank you so much for everything!

I worked 3 months here from mid December 2025 to mid March 2026. Overall it was a very pleasant experience, the village is cute and beautiful when covered in snow, the hotel itself is very clean and good in shape, the staff rooms were warm and beds very comfy. The managers Hugo and Nina did a very good job and are two beautiful people in general. Overall, the team worked great together the whole time and the work was easy to accomplish. I was hoping to be able to work a little more, the worktime was around 4-5 hours a day, roughly 22 hours a week. Also, the village is a tourist place with many foreingers coming for the winter season (also the hotel guests are mostly foreign tourists) so for me it didn't feel much like Japan at some times. For some people it might be a good point because you can easily access japan life without any japanese skills. In general, it was a great experience for me and I met beautiful people and gained working experience which I am very grateful for. Thank you a lot Nina and Hugo and I wish you all the best for your future life in Japan <3

My stay with Carmel was my first Workaway experience, and I honestly couldn't believe how lucky I was to find such an amazing host! I initially stayed for a month and a half, but after leaving for a week (due to my other plans), I came back again for another two weeks - which really shows just how much I enjoyed being there. Carmel is such a kind, intelligent and welcoming person. From the very first moment we met, she made me feel like we weren't strangers, but good friends. During my whole stay, she really cared about making sure I was comfortable and spent time with me. We went on many wonderful trips together - from a boat trip to a lovely evening by the bonfire with her friends. She always made me feel included. She even booked theatre tickets and organized a trip to an alpaca farm! The work I did was always light and manageable - helping in the kitchen, taking care of the garden, doing a bit of painting, and going for walks with Tobey and Reilly (two of the cutest dogs I know!) Honestly, one of my favourite parts of the day was cuddling with them and watching their hilarious interactions:) . I never felt any pressure regarding the work - everything was very relaxed and fair. I also appreciated the heartwarming people around her - her neighbors Josie and John, her family, and her many (and it's no surprise!) lovely friends. The nature around there is beautiful as well. The house is in a great location, so you can use a bike to explore places. I visited all of the nearby beaches, went sightseeing and enjoyed walks around the city. Also, there is a nice path around the neighbourhood. I often went there in the evenings during the sunset and my God, how beautiful that was! You can hear the cute cows in the fields, smell the grass and flowers , and above there is a blue sky that mixes with red clouds...) Even now (about six months later), I still feel a wave of emotion and miss that time, because it was one of the best summers I've ever had. Spending time with Carmel has given me so much. She showed me how important it is to be open and helpful to others. As I got to know her, I kept discovering all the amazing things she does for people, and it really touched my heart. She is a beautiful example of someone who helps whenever she can, whether it’s for those close to her or for people simply in need... I’d like to thank Carmel once again for such a marvelous experience. I feel incredibly lucky that I had this opportunity. I can only recommend her as a host, because this stay won’t just enrich your language, but your life as well!

This is a very unique place. The surrounding nature is quite amazing; silent woods and still lakes. Cycling through the woods (on the road...) at night from the station was quite an experience! Sounds of animals in the silence, starry skies... wondrous. The team at the Hof are mindful and interesting, oriented toward self-growth. Quite a bit of work on the other hand, 5 hours/day, fortunately one can go at one's own pace. Hari Om, and all the best to all <3

Wow, this one is genuinely hard to write. Octave was an absolutely fantastic Workawayer, teacher, and friend. From the beginning, he brought a calm, thoughtful energy into our home and our school. He helped out around the house without being asked, always with respect and good intention, and he made day-to-day life feel lighter and easier for both me and Kheng. In the classroom, Octave was a natural. He taught in a fun, engaging way and had a rare ability to connect with students quickly. The students loved his stories, his curiosity, and his teaching style, he made English feel alive and human, not like a textbook. He also brought so many interesting topics into conversation, and you could see students opening up and becoming more confident because of him. On a personal level, Octave honestly changed the way I think. He helped me open my mind to the world around us and reminded me what life is supposed to feel like, more present, more curious, more real. Even when our schedules didn’t align perfectly, Octave still pushed through to spend time together, get to know us, and be part of the rhythm of the school. That effort meant a lot. Octave stayed with us for around four weeks, and even then I wish it was longer (seriously). Outside of class, he was great company, kind, thoughtful, and always up for a good conversation. And yes… he’s also a world-class badminton player haha. All in all, this goodbye actually hurts, so I’ll say “see you later,” my friend. If you ever come back to Phnom Penh, please remember you always have a home here with us. Vive les traditions françaises et Octave ! Sauvons les sols !

Dear Özge, Thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and letting me spend time with Timon. Your home is just as warm and beautiful as you are, and I felt so comfortable being there. I’ll always remember this experience with a smile. 💛
