Description
I live just outside of Motueka, with my wife and cat and chickens. Our 18 years old son sometimes stays with us.
We grow as much vegetables as we can on a little piece of land on a larger working farm. And homesteading is something I do a lot, and enjoy sharing.
We are located a short drive away from Abel Tasman national park and other attractions in the area.
My wife is the "tour guide" in our family, she can tell you more...
We both have "Wwoofed" a lot and were Woofing hosts as well. And we love the cultural, practical and human exchange that comes with it.
Our interests are wide and eclectic and include:
Cooking,I work as a chef in a cafe in Motueka. And at home too I'm quite involved in food preparation, anything from cheese making, sourdough breads, drying, preserving, fermenting and more...
We're also actors and movers, we have created a Playback Theatre company.
I'm also a potter.
My wife is a Steiner/Waldorf teacher, educator.
We enjoy music and musicians and meeting people.
The main project I will need help with at the moment, will be work on a tiny house I'm building.
Therefore I will need people with some building experience or that way inclined.
As I have limited days I can work on the building project, it would mean that you will be asked to work for two or three full days and then have the rest of the week off.
Feel free to ask questions and clarify anything, free, honest communication is key.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
As I'm a maker and a chef, a potter and an actor and have an all round interest in my fellow humans, I'm sure we'll find ways to connect and exchange.
Have you ever made your own mug?
Or pizza from scratch including the Mozzarella?
Also, the café I work in is very much a hub for traveller's and creative people.
There are music jams, live theatre nights, kirtan circles, open mics, poetry nights, a public piano and of course yummy Affordable food.
Close by is Riverside community where there are more of similar activities and workshops of all sorts.
And of course we are situated close to Able Tasman national park one of nz prime great walks and water sports hub.
Help
I would need help in building a tiny house.
Mostly lining the inside walls and ceiling.
Therefore it would be great to have someone with building experience, or that way inclined. If you're an expert I would love to learn from you!
