Hi Carolina, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your week in Kampong Kdei and that the students made such a positive impression on you. Your kind words about us and the team truly mean a lot — we work hard to create better opportunities for these children. We’re also happy you connected with fellow volunteers. Thank you for your support, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime!

Hello Emily We are very grateful for your presence and teach the at our school The children were very happy with your cooperation and your donation too. 1. The lesson schedule was redesigned and everyone was given a lesson. I even gave you a lesson. The third grade English lesson. And I gave a book to teach the children after there was an interaction between the teaching time table and you were involved in formulate a new teaching schedule, It was time before the students left 2. The house/room you were given was in a family house, you should live according to the environment. A family house must be compatible with life here in Africa. thank you for the advice, I will install the door very soon . 3. Usually all volunteers arrive at a hotel for the first day in Dar, if there is a Space to my friend I prefer to be there than to the hotel, always ask to get there at a reasonable price. The volunteer should pay for the airport pick up and always we discussed before too. And if the volunteer does not pay for the one night in Dar I always pay for him/her if I have money. So if he does not pay, please understand that I am responsible for it. As you pay in the hotel the last day in Dar when you go back Thank you very much for your time.

Anne was a pleasure to host. She helped with weeding, gardening, and general farm duties, and approached every task with a positive and easygoing attitude. She is kind, reliable, and easy to have around. I really appreciated her help and would happily recommend her to other hosts.

The decision to stay here turned our one day stay in Madurai to a week seeing the real India. We got to see the ins and outs of the place, brought into the group meetings from the onset and hearing about the projects they’re doing and tasks for the week. We mainly supported projects at their eco-park, a bit of painting and landscaping, and evening in nearby village schools talking all things UK weather. I recommend looking at the scale of their work, from spirulina cultivation to tackle malnutrition, to micro-credit schemes for local women - unfortunately these weren’t the focus during our stay. We spent most of time in the stitching room with the amazing Salini and the smiley women of the eco park. We arrived a few days before Pongal harvest festival, so much of our time was being adopted into a local family to see the full face of Tamil Nadu, we went from stitching cotton sanitary pads, to watching Jallikattu where farmers throw themselves at charging bulls to win awful prizes. We were brought into the village and celebrated, ate bucket loads of sweet rice and really this stay inspired us going forward with our journey through South India.

There is so much to say about this place and its people. This place was our longest stop during a two-month circular loop through South India. We chose to volunteer here after realising we’d not processed our trip, we missed having a purpose, and we hadn’t really slowed down to appreciate our journey. What we found here was exactly the pause we needed. The balance here was perfect: the freedom to simply be, combined with the opportunity to be deeply involved in every part of the farm. From the knowledge shared directly by Kiruba, to the quieter lessons learned just by spending time with the animals, every moment felt meaningful. We’ll carry with us the nuggets of wisdom, the conversations, and the infectious smiles of the 10-12 incredible women who make the farm what it is. Alongside hands-on farm work we were already familiar with, we worked closely with the relentlessly forward-thinking Kiruba on several of his projects. While we hope we contributed something as volunteers, the value we gained far outweighed anything we gave. From farm-stay workshops and market runs, to horse chases and camel security ideas, Pongal cooking and dress-ups, was not only a highlight of our time in South India, but an experience that will undoubtedly shape who we are as people. This place truly became a haven for us. And having travelled through a good chunk of South India, despite our outsider perspective, you can tell this is the home-away-from-home style cooking people dream about. We’ve tried unthinkable amounts of Idli, Sambas and coconut chutneys. Nothing compared to this, that rare feeling of love and care for each ingredient in every dish. Kiruba, his mother Kasthuri, his father Sivaraman, and the incredible women of the place really are family

We spent two wonderful weeks at Leo´s place and had such a great experience from beginning to end ! He was incredibly welcoming, he even picked us up from the airport when we arrived and later drived us back to San José, which made our trip so much easier.🤗 The place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by the jungle, with a stunning river nearby where we loved spending time. We also shared many fun karaoke evenings together — he sings very well and those moments were some of our favorite memories! We met his lovely dog, Omega, who is truly adorable and always around to keep you company ! During our stay, he cooked many delicious traditional Costa Rican dishes for us, which allowed us to discover and enjoy the local cuisine in the best possible way. Our tasks were mainly to clean and tidy up the house, feed the chicken and the dogs. Leo is unique in his kind, and we had an amazing time with him ! We are very grateful for these two weeks, for his generosity and hospitality. We recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for an authentic experience in Costa Rica ! Thank you again Leo it was wonderful ! ✨ Aude and Nina

We loved our stay at Wendy's cottage. Wendy is so lovely! She cooked us delicious meals and we loved spending our nights eating together and chatting. Wendy was very clear in her communication and jobs that she needed. We loved the flexibility around hours worked - some days Pedro worked more and then he'd have a shorter day next day. Our arrival was smooth and easy and the room we stayed in was super comfortable. We spent 2 weeks at Wendy's house and would love to stay longer! She has super cool cats and she has lots of interesting tips on things to see and visit in Taranaki! Thank you so much for having us Wendy!

Maia is a strong, independent, adventurous soul from the USA and exactly the kind of awesome help hosts are all looking for. She sees what needs to be done and simply gets it done — efficiently, intelligently, and with zero drama. She’s excellent at managing tasks, very smart, and incredibly capable, all while being super easygoing and positive. She fit naturally into the flow of the place and made everything run smoother. We truly miss her here and wish her safe and inspiring travels in India. Maia is always welcome back anytime — our doors are always open. Any host would be lucky to have her. AAA++++++++++++

Sasha and Nathan were our first workawayers and it was a wonderful experience. They were very hard workers and enthusiastically offered to help with many of the projects we had underway. When the weather turned and outside work was less enjoyable, they demonstrated their skilled workmanship and helped paint indoors. They were detail oriented and went above and beyond, even working to get the intended job done during a power outage on the day they had planned to leave. They were courteous and friendly, and fit in well to our family dynamic. Over the month that they stayed, we enjoyed spending time together, sharing stories, games and cooking meals. We would highly recommend both Sasha and Nathan for future workaways, and would warmly welcome them back if they ever return to Canada. We've made new friends and will be keeping in touch!

Staying with Darrall in North Arm Cove was a truly special experience. From the moment he picked us up in Newcastle, we felt welcome and at ease. Darrall is kind, intellectual, full of stories, an amazing host and a genuinely lovely person. The work was clear, fair, and enjoyable (around 15 hours a week). Our main project was building a staircase in his garden, which was very satisfying, and Darrall was always appreciative and involved. In exchange, we stayed in a unique five-sided cottage on his property. A peaceful, comfortable place where we could really unwind. North Arm Cove is a quiet, beautiful area full of wildlife and nature. We saw wallabies, birds, lizards, pelicans, and even dolphins nearby. There are many walking trails and a lovely community centre where locals gather for coffee, cake, and activities. Thanks to Darrall, we also got to connect with the local community, which made the stay even more meaningful. Evenings were relaxed and fun, from a shared meal, good conversations to music, philosophy, and a unexpected maths lesson about the golden ratio. Darrall made us feel part of his world, not just volunteers on his property. We’re very grateful for this experience and can wholeheartedly recommend Darrall to anyone looking for a peaceful place, fair work, great conversations, and a host who truly cares about his Workawayers. We’ll look back on this stay with a big smile.

I had the most amazing time staying with Tarah and her lovely family for two weeks. I helped out with home tasks and Tarah was kind enough to let me help with and show me her business working with the dogs. I can't recommend this lovely family enough as I had a great stay and had lots of time to explore the beautiful coromandel.

I loved hosting this amazing couple at my place. They became part of our community and made a real impact during their stay. Sinai built two new rooms from scratch, and Lee-Yam was a huge support in managing the club and welcoming guests. Positive, reliable, and great to have around — I will host them again anytime. Highly recommended!

I've spent almost one month at Davina, Harry, Balian and Noah's place. They welcomed me as a member of the family. I didn't miss anything while I stayed there, and had really good times. There's a lot of potential in their huge garden, and also some DIY projects. I wish I stayed longer to get more done ! Regarding gardening, I've worked on cutting wild grass to make paths and guaranty access to strategic parts of the field, creating a better compost zone, and cleaning some areas. I also cut dead trees, which we used to build a cat tree ! I found the idea really great and funny ! Concerning DIY activities, I painted the inside of the big guesthouse, and built two beds for the smaller one. I also quickly became the official cook of the community and prepared one meal per day for nine persons. Concerning the area, the easiest way to visit is to order taxis. Davina and Harry know some of them and call them regularly, and I could go with them to different places, like Asunción (1h30 away) or San Bernardino (30 minutes). A good atmosphere and great hospitality, lots of interesting projects, I can only thank them and recommand the place for future workawayers !

Alexandra is a versatile, well-traveled woman with diverse interests. Doing a workaway with her means engaging in a cultural and intellectual exchange. I had fun giving her a helping hand in her house with still lots of free time to explore the surroundings. She let me participate in her varied daily life (singing, snorkeling, sports, cooking and more!). I highly recommend doing Workaway with this woman who I am glad I became friends with.

Alice stayed with me for 10 days at Stanwell Park and at my holiday home on the south coast. At Stanwell, we planted trees in the park next door and down the coast, she helped me cut a track through the bush as well as collecting firewood. I can only agree with what others have said about her. She is a prodigious worker, very fit (you have to be to surf) and delightful company. She was very clean and tidy and always willing to help around the house. We had a lovely time together with another Workaway guest from Italy. She has excellent English with a keen sense of our local humour - and that is how you can tell if someone has mastered another language. We had lots of interesting discussions about our travels in various parts of the world. She had her own car, and that made it easier for her to go for an early morning surf when we were down the coast. She met up with members of my family and went surfing with one of them. She has now headed south, but will be coming back sometime, so I have invited her to stay again.

Staying with Öz’ge was so much more than a Workaway – it felt like home. From the very first moment, we felt welcomed with so much warmth, trust and openness. Öz’ge has a beautiful soul and creates a space where you instantly feel safe, seen and appreciated. Living together felt natural and loving, full of meaningful conversations, cozy moments and a deep sense of connection. This experience touched us on a human level and will stay in our hearts for a long time. And Timon… 🐾 Timon is honestly the coolest and cutest cat we have ever met. His presence, his character and the little moments with him brought so much joy into our days. We miss him deeply – and of course, we miss Öz’ge just as much. We are incredibly grateful for this experience and can recommend Öz’ge from the bottom of our hearts. This was not just a stay, it was a shared chapter of life. Thank you for everything 🤍

October was a wonderful first Workawayer experience. She stayed with me for 4 days and we matched very well from the start. She was proactive, willing to help, respectful of my house rules, and always clean and tidy. Communication was easy and fluid, which made the experience very pleasant. Even my cat Genesis—who doesn’t warm up to just anyone—absolutely loved her. I would highly recommend October to any host. She’s welcome back anytime!
