Description
Hello,
My name's Sokear. I am a founder of the school. The school started in 2013 in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is 60KM away from Siem Reap city to the east. It will take approximately 40minutes to an hour for travelling by bus from Siem Reap to the school and it will take around 4 hours travelling by bus from Phnom Penh, capital city of Cambodia to the school.
The school provides English language teaching and computer courses to rural area students as they need it for their studies at high schools, universities, and for jobs.
In November 2024, we set up one more education center just 10km from each other along the riverside down to the south deep in to the village with big space and nice environment. As we have two locations, the schools will take turn to place volunteers for teaching in each location.
How to travel to the school:
- If you travel from Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia, you can a buy bus ticket from Phnom Penh To Siem Reap and tell the driver that you stop at Kampongkdei market (ផ្សារកំពង់ក្តី you can show this word to the driver) 60km before arriving to Siem Reap. It will takes around 5 hours and the transportation fee is around 15$
- If you travel from Siem Reap, please copy Khmer text (ផ្សារកំពង់ក្តី) and show to the bus company or minivan that you can find along the road. it will take around 1 hours and the transportation fee is around 4$Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will learn more about Cambodia and our people through the conversation that occurs in the classroom or outside class rooms when you travel around the villages.
The school closes at the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, you can travel around the school to see the villages and countryside by walking or cycling which is the best way to interact and immerse with local peoples and culture.
Cambodian people are friendly, they are happy to answer your questions with smiling.
As we can accept 4 volunteers at the same time, you have a chance to meet other volunteers that come from the other parts of the world to exchange your skills and thoughts to learn from each other in respect ways. The school also can organize a bike tour around the remote village where you will see the amazing scenery and landscape of the countryside.Projects involving children

Workawayers will stay at the school. we provide two times meals, lunch and dinner. All teachers and volunteers join meals all together at school in both locations.
In case, volunteers are vegetarians they have to cook by themselves we don't know how to prepare vegetarian food. They can go to buy fresh vegetable or meat from the local markets which is 200m from the school. We have a kitchen where they can cook themselves if they miss their home food. What else ...
To teach English, it is free. However if you find that this project really helps the students and the local people, then donation is welcome.
