    Description

We’re a family of three living near Arrow Lake just south of Nakusp, British Columbia. Our property is accessed by a cable ferry that runs on demand during daytime hours. We live in the heart of the Kootenays surrounded by forest, mountains, and lake views.

We are looking for help around the property, including firewood stacking, garden maintenance and fruit harvesting in our small orchard. We have a home renovation project underway and lots of ideas to expand the amenities on our property, so if you are handy and willing to help out, we can find a project for you!

    Accommodation & Meals
You’ll stay in our home, where we have three spare bedrooms (1 king and 2 twin beds) and two shared bathrooms. We eat mostly home-cooked meals and sit down together at dinner; you are welcome to share the meal with us or use our kitchen to cook along side. We have a spare fridge for your own food if you'd like. Breakfast and lunch tend to be more of a "fend for yourself" type of situation, depending on the day. We eat mostly plant-based but are happy to accommodate dietary preferences where we can.

    Time Off & Local Adventures
On your days off, many Kootenay adventures are just a short drive away (or sometimes right out our back door). The activities we enjoy are hiking, swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, biking, climbing, sailing, sauna, mountain biking at Mount Abriel, skiing, hot springs (developed and natural), playing in the yard, reading in the hammock, puttering in the garden, listening to music and enjoying the view. There are endless back roads for exploring by gravel bike and ATV and excellent fishing in both Arrow Lake and at nearby recreational sites.

We’re about 15 minutes south of Nakusp and accessible via vehicle and ferry (free and frequent crossings).
