Our full two weeks with aunty Ferdaous (Fefe) was an amazing experience ever!!! She is very helpfull and has a strong awareness on taking care our kids, Baim and Omar. Since the kids are homeschooler now, Fefe always standby on accompanying the kids and their private teacher at home.

Fantastic first Workaway experience, staying at Zohras guesthouse in Fort-de-France for three weeks. I got to meet lots of interesting travelers, work with some interesting projects like building a second bathroom below the hallway stairs and a shower on the terrace, and also having nice conversations with Zohra and guests in the evenings, which has become a bit of a family now. With the freedom I had, the openness to creative ideas and the positive tone throughout my stay here, I can highly recommend anyone staying at Zohras if they ever come to Martinique. 5/5⭐️ and all the best 😊💫✨ ----- Première expérience Workaway fantastique !

After a rather rough start to my Workaway journey in Ireland, when I had to leave my previous host due to extremely poor hygiene standards, Kathleen and Vincent kindly agreed to take me in at very short notice. That turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to me. From the moment they picked me up at the bus station, they made me feel welcome and treated me with great kindness. During my stay, I had many wonderful conversations over lunch and dinner with them and their extended family. We talked about all sorts of topics — from cultural differences between Germany and Ireland to Gaelic sports, running, and many other interesting subjects. There was always something new to learn or discuss. I also went running with Vincent three times a week, which was a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and stay fit. My main tasks during the week involved gardening, such as cutting hedges and pulling weeds. Whenever the weather turned particularly bad, there was always the option to go inside, warm up, and enjoy a hot cup of tea. At the weekends, I had plenty of free time. All in all, I had a truly great experience with Kathleen, Vincent, and their family, and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering staying with them. I really enjoyed my time with you and hope to see you again in the future.

It was an absolute privilege to host Wilfred as a volunteer here in January 2026. Overall, Wilfred is a genuinely kind, committed, and generous individual whose presence made a lasting impact on our organization and the communities we serve. During his time with us, Wilfred provided both financial and technical support toward the renovation of Nedi Pre-School. Together, Wilfred and the team worked hand in hand to paint the entire school building, transforming it into a bright and welcoming learning environment for young children. In addition, he supported the engagement of a professional painter to design beautiful educational murals on the walls, creating an inspiring and child-friendly atmosphere that will benefit learners for years to come. Wilfred also extended his support to Nchalo Children’s Corner by donating playing materials and sewing machines for the caregiver. This was not only a gesture of appreciation for her many years of dedicated service, but also a sustainable investment in the future of vulnerable children. The sewing machines will be used to produce school uniforms for children who cannot afford them, thereby restoring dignity and promoting school attendance among the most disadvantaged. Beyond material support, Wilfred was a true friend to everyone at the office. He blended easily with staff, demonstrated humility, and showed deep respect for the community. Charity work is clearly at the heart of who he is. He also visited several support groups, engaging members in meaningful discussions and helping them reflect on practical strategies for strengthening and advancing their initiatives. Wilfred’s contribution went beyond volunteering — he built relationships, inspired hope, and strengthened our shared mission. We are sincerely grateful for his dedication and warmly welcome him back anytime. On behalf of the team, I and the communities we serve, we highly recommend Wilfred and commend his generous spirit and commitment to sustainable community development.

It was fun a stay here! Even though there was some rain and the camp was under construction I deeply enjoyed the place. I helped to fix the "Pizza Hut" and the roof of one of the stables after some storm damage. It was inspiring to hear the future plans for the camp and hope they get realised in the coming years. #redacted# it was a delight to see his passion for the project and solution based mindset. I hope to return in the coming years to see some of that sweet chestnut wood turn into community spaces!

I had such a lovely experience staying and volunteering here. The atmosphere in the hostel was very relaxed, easygoing, and welcoming from the very beginning. It truly felt like a comfortable space where everyone could be themselves. My host was incredibly friendly, supportive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. Communication was clear, expectations were fair, and I always felt respected and appreciated. It made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I’m very grateful for the time I spent here and would absolutely recommend this place to other Workawayers looking for a positive, chilled, and friendly environment

Haruka is a very polite Japanese woman. She did everything we asked of her. She did some housework, some planting seeds, dog walking and helping learn some cooking skills as well as cooking a Japanese curry for us. We are both a bit deaf and her ultra polite and quiet voice was difficult to hear sometimes. Our dog was very fond of her. I think our very quiet surroundings and our very quiet lifestyle were rather a major change for her after living in London. I think she welcomed the days out she spent with a guest in our gite to give her some relief from the quiet. We wish her well with pursuing an independent enterprise of her own on line.

Noël Burgener spent five weeks as a guest on our private farm. She always performed all the necessary household chores, such as cleaning, tidying, and ironing, to our complete satisfaction! We especially appreciated her knowledge of gardening and permaculture. She assessed compost heaps, planted flowers, pruned roses, and implemented measures to reduce grass in the garden and flowerbeds. She is knowledgeable about all kinds of diets (she even cooked keto meals), possesses incredible general knowledge, and is skilled in international cuisine! Her friendly nature, warm sense of humor, interest in German customs, helpfulness, and, above all, her love for our animals deserve special mention. We trusted her completely when we were away. We will all miss Noël very much, both humans and animals! The lovely winter evenings spent working on crafts and chatting will also remain a cherished memory for a long time.

I spent 2 weeks at Silka’s to play and spend time with Ibrahim and Omar, and I spent a great time ! I was very well received, I quickly felt like home and I really had the impression of being part of the family. Silka is a great mom. She helped me a lot throughout my stay, whether it was for the journey, for the SIM card, to find a tailor, to take train tickets. She also let me use her computer! Naaa too kind, such a loving person. She also has a good sense of humor, we laughed a lot. She always helped me when I needed it. Ibrahim is very intelligent, we managed to communicate and play, despite the language difference. He has a lot of imagination and finds games from what's around him. Omar is a little more reserved, you have to give him a bit more time. But he also likes to play, especially trying to catch him. I was also able to learn lots of little words in Indonesian thanks to the children. I was extremely well nourished. Every day Silka or Uti brought different foods. Silka also showed me around the city and I was able to intervene in a school ! It was a great experience that I will not forget! Frankly, my whole stay was great, I recommend it 1000% to anyone who likes to have fun with children and learn more about Indonesian culture. Ps: big up to Uti who gave me love, watermelon juice and more !

Miriam was the first Workawayer I hosted in almost a two-year hiatus. I enjoyed her company and how thoughtful she was. She helped me practice pronunciation, cooked for us, played with my nephew and invited us (me, my niece and nephew) to eat out on her last day. We also had some deep conversations that fostered our connection to each other and to ourselves. I wish she could stay longer than a week. Thank you and take care, Miriam!

Jacob visit was a complete surprise, the first time that a volunteer arrived with his own private space (campervan), with lots of profesional knowledge, with the best actitud, and willing to help in a geniuine way, ready to listen, help and work. Something that made me realize all this with the first impression when he arrived is the fact that he has more reserved space in his van for the tools he travels with and he is willing to use to help you, than space for sleeping. I can only say thank you for your support, for our long talks and sharing views about the work, life and many other things. Sometimes a volunteer arrives and when it's time to say goodbye, it feels like a friend is leaving. See you soon Jacob.

We would like to say a big thank you to Lucia and Juan for coming to help us at the farm for two weeks. They were not just volunteers — they became part of our family. Like my sister and my brother, they took care of us and especially our daughter with so much love and kindness. They helped us cook, clean, and prepare our home. They were always ready to help and always asked what they could do more. We are truly happy and grateful to have met them. Our farm and our family will always remember them ❤️ We really have great time you both. Hope to see you next time. Have a nice day and good luck. Sophea Hiro Hirain and Nimet

Amazing experience teaching the children in the countyside. The kids are all enthusiastic and amazing, and people in the village are very kind. Sovanarrith and his family are nice and welcoming, and the food is very good. We were here with a lot of other volunteers, which only enhanced our experience! We could arrive immediately after our first contact, so if you're looking for something quick this is a very good option.

Staying at Mikes has been one of my highlights whilst in New Zealand, Mike is an excellent host ensuring you have all the tools required, great instructions (especially when it was my first time parking with a trailer) extremely knowledgeable and lets you work independently. The work is very rewarding and varied, tasks involved weeding, mulching, cutting down ginger and building a bicycle track! Mike always had a full fridge consisting of great food and fresh veg and fruit, but also recommended the local bakery which I perhaps visited too often! In the evenings we ate together which was great, we shared many laughs and great conversations as a group and was great getting to know the other Workaway volunteers. Mike is very knowledgeable of the local surroundings and told us where the beaches were, the walks we could do, as well as where to spot glow worms. I would recommend Mikes place to anyone who wants a rewarding Workaway experience and isn't shy of some physical work. Thank you Mike for a great 2 weeks, couldn't have asked for a better experience Cheers Joe

In February, I landed in Australia for the first time. After just one day in Brisbane, I immediately spent two weeks with Ewen and Lesley. It was truly a wonderful time. Ewen taught me a lot. We built a water pipe, installed a railing, and did many other interesting things. I was initially overwhelmed by a lot of it, but thanks to Ewen's explanations, I quickly understood everything. It's amazing how much he knows and how well and calmly he can teach you. Lesley is really lovely and has a great sense of humor. It was also realy nice meeting her familie You immediately feel at home. They have really cute and loving pets. Even their dog, Diesel, can be quite sweet if you treat him well. I had the disadvantage of not having a driver's license, so it was more difficult to visit places. However, they both helped me a lot with that. Thanks to them, I saw many beautiful places that I probably would never have visited otherwise. It was also wonderful to meet other Workawayers. During my stay, I got to know four other Workawayers, and it was great. They were all incredibly nice, and we had a lot of fun, not only at work but also at our regular game nights together. I am looking forward to meet you someday again❤️.

Mei arrived and slotted in perfectly during a busy time for us. Her attention to detail with house work was second to none. Mei was always looking for things to do and contributing to the household. Mei is a great cook and amazing with children 😍 our girls adored her and Bobbi especially loved all the fun play time and Mei taking the time to even go to the pool with her. Very special exchange and would highly recommend. Confident in her abilities and tasks and a very hard worker who went above and beyond with great initiative. Thank you Mei and we hope you enjoy the rest of your travels before you fly home to Japan
