    Description

Hello! My name is Sovannarith, and I am the founder and director of a children’s charity located in the countryside near Siem Reap (Lolei Village). I speak English and am committed to helping our children develop essential skills, with a strong focus on language learning (English, Chinese) and computer skills, to give them better opportunities for the future. I believe it’s crucial to help our children succeed. Additionally, I run a monthly food program to support poor and unable individuals in the community.

With additional funding, I hope to expand our reach and offer more lessons to more children. I’ve been running this NGO since 2011, but we are in need of volunteers to help the project grow. We warmly welcome anyone who would like to support or teach languages to the children. We are currently offering free education to about 80 children, ages 5 to 15.

We accept volunteers for both short-term and long-term stays (minimum of one week) are preferred. We would be happy to give you a tour of our school at any time.

As a volunteer, you will receive a certificate acknowledging your involvement with the school, which can serve as a reference for future teaching positions. Our school is also an ideal place for those with a TEFL certificate to practice their teaching and classroom management skills, but we welcome all volunteers—whether or not you have prior experience or a teaching certificate.

Please note: volunteers are not permitted to rent motorbikes or scooters to drive to the village due to local regulations and safety concerns, as there have been several accidents.

We warmly welcome all volunteers and look forward to meeting you! Please include your full name and exact volunteering dates in the subject line of your email.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As a volunteer, travelers will learn about Cambodia culture and customs, as well as have the opportunity to help children learn. Often, there are many students but not enough teachers. Volunteers can increase their overall teaching skills and have the perspective from being involved in teaching in an area where there is poverty. In addition, volunteers can learn how to fix and build homes, and know that families in need are being helped.
