Description
Hi, I'm Jacob. I'm a carpenter from the UK, originally from Devon in the South but living in the Scottish Highlands for the last three years. Before living in Scotland I spent a few years travelling around Europe, Australia and New Zealand, often using Workaway. I've been getting itchy feet again so now I'm looking for a change of scenery.
My background is in construction, at first as a cob builder (clay and straw) and then later as a carpenter. I've done bits of cabinet making and other joinery along the way and I'd be very interested to learn more about boat building. I'm also interested to learn more about sustainable/eco building, if there are any projects involving alternative building projects out there? I grew up working odd jobs on farms and have since done bits and pieces such as working on sheep farms in Scotland, a cattle station in Australia and a few stables in Europe. I'm not really one for city life so tend to stick to the countryside. I also play music, mainly classical guitar but a couple of other instruments too. Always up for a jam!

More details about your skills
Being a carpenter I can offer help with construction projects. Woodworking is my main skill but I've also done some stonework as well as cob building. Happy to be involved with anything mechanical too. I like working on old machinery, although I'm no expert.
I've worked on a few farms, mainly with cattle and sheep, so some have experience operating farm machinery, fencing, mustering and other farm related jobs. I hope to have my own small-holding sometime so I'm eager to learn more.
