Details
 - Description- Hello Workawayers,
We are a family in the cool city of Malang (East Java, Indonesia), surrounded by many universities and beautiful natural scenery, including mountains, beaches, and a mini-waterfall (we call it Coban), also Heritage tourism areas.
I'm Riski (often called "Mas Nur" by Workawayers who have visited us), a remote worker on the Upwork platform in the sales and marketing category. My wife, Silka, is active in an NGO involved in youth research competitions. We live with our two sons (Ibrahim, born in 2021, and Omar, born in 2023) and their grandmother.
To be honest, several Workawayers have stayed at our home when we collaborated with Ruang Belajar Aqil (RBA) Malang as Host Families. These include Dino from the Netherlands, Alex from Spain, Phuong from Vietnam, Jane from the Netherlands, and Georgia from Italy.
However, because our two boys are undergoing rapid brain, language, and social-emotional development, we wanted to provide them with an alternative educational experience. One of our goals was for them to learn from people from other countries with different languages, cultures, behaviors, and attitudes. Therefore, we created a special account for Hosts on the workaway.info platform.
So, if you're interested in our mission, you can join us. It's not difficult; it's just like we do our daily activities (as naturally as possible). The important thing is to always interact with our two boys so that their growth (as I mentioned above) accelerates.
You can also explore Malang further: there are many mountains here, beaches in the south, and a short hike up to Batu City will bring you to a mini waterfall (Coban). In the city center, there's also a heritage site (Kayutangan) and several cultural events organized by the local government, such as carnivals, traditional masked dances, etc.

 - Cultural exchange and learning opportunities- We don't really need to explain this in detail if you can imagine our explanation in the previous points.
But let's emphasize the benefits you'll get: living with a warm family, experiencing the transfer of knowledge and experience to young children, exploring Malang, including its culture, heritage buildings, mountains, beaches, and mini waterfalls (if you're the adventurous person).
For daily meals, we cover the costs, just like previous workawayers (and we adjust to your preferences). If we have plans to go out to a specific location, we usually invite you along, especially if it's related to our children's education.
 - Au Pair Help- This host is looking for Au pair help.
 - Help- We're looking for someone who can create a joyful atmosphere for our children, whether through music lessons, play-based learning, outdoor physical activities, conversation, singing, or any activity that's appropriate for their developmental stage.
Our plan is to only need "friend" with these activities for a minimum of 2-3 days a week and a maximum of 4-5 hours. We're also always available to join in on these activities, so you won't be doing it alone.
We want you to come with your unique personality, without feeling overwhelmed. Make yourself as comfortable as possible, because that's what we're looking for. Our children will learn a lot from that uniqueness.

 - What else ...- Additional Information for Workawayers:
Our home is located in Sigura-gura, a neighborhood near Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in Malang. It's a student-friendly area with easy access to public transport and local attractions. You can reach Malang by:
 - Train: Malang is well connected to major cities like Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta by train. The main station (Malang Kota Baru) is about 15 minutes from our home by car or ride-hailing apps.
 - Bus: There are intercity buses arriving at Arjosari Terminal, also not far from our area.
 - Plane: The nearest airport is Abdul Rachman Saleh Airport (MLG), around 30-40 minutes away by car. Alternatively, you can fly to Juanda International Airport in Surabaya (SUB), which is about 2.5–3 hours from Malang by car or shuttle.
We are a Muslim family and practice our faith daily. This includes praying five times a day and maintaining a lifestyle based on Islamic values. We kindly ask you to respect the following house guidelines:
 - Please wear modest clothing that covers the body (especially shoulders and legs).
 - We prefer guests not to come home too late at night for safety and cultural reasons.
 - Alcohol (including beer) and smoking are not allowed in our home.
 - We also highly value universal morals such as honesty, kindness, respect, and open communication.
During your free time, you’re welcome to explore the many beautiful places in and around Malang, from vibrant city heritage sites and colorful themed villages, to beaches in the south, and the nearby mountains like Bromo, Semeru, and Arjuno.
