Lukash(Raki) is a great fellow, always into a joke and generally a pleasant guy to have around! He’s knowledgeable about many things and anything you’ll ask him to do he’ll approach with enthusiasm! We had a great month together here with a group of volunteers and he was definitely a person to encourage the others to give the best of themselves ! Highly recommended Workawayer!

I spent a week with Paula and Ramon and felt very much at home. It was an inspiring week! Together, we looked at the various projects and tasks that needed to be done on their property and brainstormed ideas. In the end, I built a dry stone wall for a future path. I really enjoyed the work. They trusted me with my knowledge but also supported me wherever they could. They’re also very well-equipped with tools and machinery. In return, Ramon taught me how to weld. Besides the work, they introduced me to the Italian culture and their beautiful home, with trips around their land or to the weekly market. They also welcomed me to fun pizza nights with friends or just sitting together with nice talks. The two of them are a creative, inspiring couple and still have lots of cool ideas and projects they want to bring to life. Thanks again for your hospitality and the wonderful time:)

Through my second Workaway experience and one-month stay, I learned so much about the Afro-Ecuadorian community, their history, their struggles, and their incredible resilience. I had the privilege of connecting with such a kind and welcoming community. The families there, along with Geovana (the leader of the organization), received me with open arms. She truly felt like a mother away from home. She took care of me when I was sick and made me feel so special on my birthday. Everyone else also made me feel like part of the community, inviting me to social gatherings and including me in daily life. I'm grateful that I was able to contribute by assisting with English classes and by offering social media insights and suggestions to help raise visibility for their causes and strengthen their presence in Cuenca. Even if my part was just a small drop in the bucket, I'm glad I could support their work in a meaningful way. I definitely plan to stay in touch and hope to visit again soon!

Margaux joined us in Costa Rica for three months in 2025. She taught Math, English Language Arts and ESL. She is a disciplined, thoughtful and simple exceptional teacher. She added so much to my project and to the lives of my students who adored her. Additionally she helped me save one of my foster dog’s life which is obviously above and beyond. For such a young woman, she is wise, witty and healthy. I recommend Marguax for any project, especially teaching, work with kids of any kind and also saving animals 🥰

We were very pleased to have Daizha as our first Workawayer! She made valuable contributions during her time with us. Daizha helped organize cultural activities, took photos and videos at various events, and assisted with editing and organizing the files afterward. She also participated in our weekly English class and provided helpful technical support whenever needed. We truly appreciate her positive energy and willingness to help. We wish her all the best on her journey, thank her for her contributions, and hope to welcome more Workawayers like her in the future.

Keiley and Fynn were a joy to host! They very quickly fitted in and were keen to work. We had lots of fun times cooking, making cheese and baking bread. Fynn perfected his focaccia by the end and was enjoyed by everyone. They were both considerant , friendly, funny, enthusiastic their love of horses and birds was very compatible. A night reciting banjo Patterson poetry and the man from snowy river, whip cracking and lassoing was a highlight for us and memories to last , we really enjoyed your stay and gratitude for your help,

Michel and Daniela were amazing hosts that became amazing friends over the course of the 2 months that we stayed at their welcoming place. The help that they needed was different than what they usually propose during the festival season, but wasn’t less exciting, quite the opposite actually!! From trip to Stockholm, driving packages, to emptying stores, building and organizing one (yes Michel that’s what I put in my resume lmao), everything became lots of fun side quests! And that’s without talking about the walks in nature, in the city, chill evenings and nice trips throughout the swedish east cost that we got to do in between :)) They are absolutely kind and generous persons, that made us feel comfortable since the very first moment. Communication and conversations with them flowed so naturally, everything felt just perfectly right between us. They always made us feel appreciated, helpful and valued, and we are so glad to have been able to help them and had their trust. We loved the time spent together, spent at their beautiful place and spent at helping them, and the more the time flew, the more we were attached and didn’t want to leave. 🥹 Their welcome was the warmest we could have imagined, and we are more than happy to had the chance to meet and get to know them (as well as to have had such good laughs and shared so funny adventures 😂). At this stage, we are not just going to recommend them; we’re going to actively advertize them haha 😎 We came here to discover, and left with our hearts full ❤️

When I read Ninie’s profile, I had no doubt that I was inviting a very experienced, passionate and hard-working volunteer to my wildlife shelter. Age wise, Ninie was one of my more mature volunteers, but you would never know it. She was as fit and young-at-heart as my youngest volunteers. If work was finished, she would find more jobs to do. When Ninie found out that her previous host was unwell and in desperate need of help, she raced back to lend her hand. I know she would do the same for me. As expected, Ninie was intelligent and wise. What I didn’t expect was how much fun Ninie would be. Whether working on her own, or as part of a team of diverse people, Ninie was an asset to my shelter and a great person to have in my home. I hope Ninie will return one day, and she will always be welcome.

We spend a week with Sonja and Holger and absolutely loved every minute of their little paradise. It was our first Workaway experience, and honestly, it couldn't have gone any better. They both welcomed us into their home with open arms and made our stay truly wonderful. Sonja and Holger have this amazing ability to never lecture or micromanage. They happily and clearly explain all the rules and important things around their farm, which made getting started as Workaways super easy. The tasks were always just right - varied and never too much to handle. They're incredible hosts who genuinely cared about our well-being the whole time. Their animals are just wonderful, and you can really tell how happy and well-looked-after they are with Holger and Sonja. The goats' names aren't the easiest to remember - but if your're a Terry Pratchett fan, you'll pick them up in no time. The dogs Nobby and Leica are a total dream team and without a doubt the most wonderful friends and guardians of the guests. Jay and Pinky add a touch of grace to the already stunning property, and cleaning out the paddocks every day was actually a real joy - a chance to give something back in a meaningful way. We'll treasure our time with Sonja and Holger as one of the highlights of our whole trip. It was simply fantastic! Karen and A. Daniel from Hanover

We stayed with Mira and Krsna for 7 weeks and we can't be more happy about it. We felt welcomed and respected and loved the exchange in everyday life. It was a pleasure to meet people with a similar understanding of what community and sharing means. Thank you so much 🙌🏻

Evgeny is a hardworking and trustworthy person with strong common sense and genuinely good intentions. He communicates clearly and honestly, which makes collaboration easy and reliable. Above all, he has a big heart—he cares deeply about the people around him and brings a warm, positive energy to the environment. We truly appreciated having him as a volunteer and his presencebis a blessing.

We had the pleasure of hosting Ilaria for a few weeks in February through Workaway, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Ilaria is a very social person who easily connects with everyone around her. She is a hard worker who naturally sees what needs to be done and takes initiative without hesitation. She is especially skilled in cleaning and organizing spaces, bringing a sense of order and care wherever she works. During her stay, she also helped paint several spaces beautifully. On top of that, she is a great cook and always ready to lend a hand with anything that’s needed. Ilaria enjoys meaningful conversations and is open to many different perspectives, cultures, and philosophies—it’s clear that her studies in psychology are a natural fit for her. We truly enjoyed the time we spent together and are sure our paths will cross again in future adventures. She is always welcome to return and be part of our project and dream. Warmly recommended

Alizée was a superstar! She was so kind, and so down for new experiences and being part of the family and community. Her positivity and can-do attitude was a pleasure to be around. Plus she was always attentive to any task given, and carried them out to a high degree of quality. I have no doubt she will be very successful in whatever she decides to do!

Sophia was a fantastic Workaway! She proved to be very skilled at caring for the animals, knowing how to interact with them with kindness and attention, and she adapted perfectly, moving around the area completely independently. We greatly appreciated her kindness in caring for Selva, our pregnant cat, whom she assisted like a true midwife... and with so much fun for everyone! 😄 It was wonderful to meet her, share like-minded ideas, and immediately feel connected. We were truly fortunate to have her here with us: her positive energy, willingness to help, and love for animals made everything more beautiful and easier. Sophia is a special person! It was a true pleasure sharing our time and our little world with her. The animals miss you already. We're happy you enjoyed your stay despite the simplicity of the place, and that you also had the chance to visit our beautiful region. We truly hope this isn't goodbye, but rather a "see you soon!" A big hug from us and all the animals (especially Selva and her children, who will never stop looking for you!).

I stayed 1 week with Kristen and the family and it was so great. The apartment was very modern and they had the best beds. I worked for a few hours a day and many days we went to the beach or did cool hikes, they always had fun ideas for activities and I was never bored. I worked on the outside of the house a lot or did some other jobs outside, it was always fun and if I wanted to do something else that was always okay. I got food for breakfast and lunch and had delicious meals at dinner with them. I would definitely come back here, I really enjoined it.
