    Description

    We are an activist foundation based in Cuenca Ecuador that is dedicated to the empowerment and education of Afro-descendants in Latin America. We are part of a larger network of activist in Latin America.

    Our mission is to raise awareness of and provide assistance for the issues that Afro community faces. We also work to increase exposure of the products and services that they offer that often gets overlooked. We do this by offering resources, guidance, and a safe space for Black population to share experiences, learn from each other, and organize for collective action.

    We’re looking for volunteers to join us in various roles. Some tasks may include helping organize and facilitate workshops on Afro-history and culture for youth and adults, assisting in educational outreach efforts to promote understanding and visibility of the Black community, and help with English classes. We also would like people that have knowledge in research and writing of grants, and content creation, social media, and campaigns

    Some of the communities and placements you will be working with don't speak English. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to a minimum of three weeks.

    Our team consist of local activist that live and work in the communities they represent. We have no paid staff.

    Volunteers will experience the daily life and culture of Black Ecuadorians and will also be able to share their culture and knowledge with the locals. Volunteers will have the chance to be immersed in the daily life of the communities.

    Volunteers will get to understand the culture by being involved with marketing Afro businesses and partaking in language classes.
