    Description

Do you love nature? what about living simply, off grid ? Great food and company? How about learning some new skills? We want you to participate in our dream life. We have built an earthship (with lots of help already) and want to share in this type of building design. We are located in a gorgeous mountain/ bush setting, totally off grid. We make electricity from solar, and our water comes from a mountain spring. The tasks we do are varied, as we hope to teach many things to our fellow travellers. This year we want to make wicking beds, stone work, fire bath upgrades, furniture making, some light construction and landscaping. Some continuing tasks include; cob making, clay work, rendering, gardening, landscaping, working on a hugle wall (a living wall), horse care, harvesting and much more. No experience necessary, just your creative loving hands. Though, if you are skilled in carpentry, construction and earth dwellings then we could use your expertise. If you have a project in mind or want to jump on one of ours, let us know how we can facilitate. We want to hear about your experiences, and learn from you as well. Such is the life on a property in the bush.
We are relaxed people and like you to help 4-5 hours per day, 5 days a week; some in the morning and some in the afternoon. We start the day with yoga and meditation, weather permitting. We have breakfast then share in circle to encourage open communication. We work a few hours in the morning and then it's time for lunch. We would do a bit more work in the afternoon. We have dinner around 6:30. On Saturday and Sunday enjoy cooking communally with each other ( provide your own food for that- no meat or fish on the property please).
We are totally on solar, so be mindful of your electronic gear. You might get phone reception in the window, standing on one leg (ha, ha). There are amazing bush walks all outside our back door and if it's hot we can go for a swim in the creek. The weather is changeable; hot to cold, rain, snow, sunshine could all happen in a day. There is shared accommodation with a wood heater and cooking facility as well as a composting toilet, camping spaces and space for camper and. We have an outdoor area for showering and hot water at the firebath in the warm months. Just a few sticks and in three minutes, hot water! We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, self motivated and interested in participating in this lifestyle. If a composting toilet scares you now is the time to overcome your fears.
We want to trigger your curiosity to learn other ways of adapting to a simpler lifestyle. We want to share our experience in alternative living with you not just have you come and help. We encourage a community environment and good communication. We are vegetarian and would love to cook for you. If you love to cook you can offer to cook for the group as well. We ask for two weeks minimum!! and we would love it if you wanted to stay longer: we feel you get a handle on everything as well as become invested in the lifestyle. We arrange transport from Deloraine during a weekday and do not drive into town everyday. We practice biodynmaic gardening, yoga, meditation and have a million stories about India. We look forward to meeting you... Peace Mira and Krsna
