I stayed with Jenny for a week and had an amazing time. I did some weeding work in here beautiful garden and got to hang out with her and her cute cats. She showed me around Hobart and let me know of all the cool places, took me to see some live music and even on a woldlife rescue. It was the best time. Jenny is a beautiful human being and I would highly recommend staying with her.

Wonderful place! I truly enjoyed the opportunities for community, prayers, and a variety of work lead with kindness. They are great at organizing all of it and having patience as well.

Elspeth and Kim were amazing hosts!! They were beyond kind and generous and set the bar high as our first Workaway. We stayed for 2 months and that included Christmas where Elspeth cooked a lovely ham with all the fixins while we traded making Negronis. They're also very flexible with hours and working around bad weather. Even after working some extra hours one day Elspeth and Kim treated us to fish and chips and a beer afterwards. The work itself was also nice and manageable. A lot of weeding but also intermixed with other jobs like log splitting, lawn mowing, bush trimming, planting, transplanting, fruit picking, helping clean the cottages, and any other odd job Elspeth could find. In addition she always kept our fridge stocked with lovely fresh veg from the garden and whatever else we may need. And that's all the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this place. Really could not recommend enough. Thank you so much for having us and showing us how fun and rewarding Workaway could be! <3

I spent 3 months with John, Nathalie and their three adorable girls. John and Nathalie are very kind, I had the feeling of being a part of their family. We spent few moments all together on a day trip or a restaurant, the best way to discover a culture! And of course you talk a lot together. About the girls, I was there at the end of 2025, so Saoirse (the first one) was 2 and half years old and Fiadh and Rosins were 3 months old. Saoirse is very cute, she loves reading books and creative activities, it’s easy to find activities to do with her. The twins are very cute too, but I think they have grown a lot now. The house is located in the city center of Ennis, so very close of the coffee shop, charity shop or pub, it’s very practical and very easy for meet other au pair during the day or for spend an evening in a pub. Ennis is not a big city but there is many nice pub or coffee shop, so many place for spend a great time with the other au pair. Also, the house is ten minutes away from train or bus station so very practical for go one trip. I really recommend coming to stay with this family! Katell

I really enjoyed my first Workaway at The English Club! I felt like I got a really good taste of Japan staying and working there. Lily is very understanding and helpful with explaining how to complete the house cleaning tasks planned throughout the week and makes sure your comfortable and have everything you need. The other workawayers I was staying with were lovely too. I especially enjoyed our little trips on Wednesday to Mirai cafe in Bizen where we got to help prepare some dishes like sushi and dumplings, enjoying the food we made, and got to chat with locals. The friendly Friday sessions and world time sessions were really enjoyable too and another great chance to get to know the locals who live in the area, and what life in general is like in Japan. Everyone was really welcoming and accommodating. I really enjoyed my stay and will be coming back again. Thank you for everything Lily!

I had the best 3 weeks with Yolanda, Sara, Jorge & Hugo. It was my first Workaway experience and it was better than I could have ever imagined. I felt right at home and the four of them welcomed me right away. I saw many towns around Tarragona and Yolanda and Jorge were able to tell me so much about the area. It was also a really great experience to visit Yolanda's school and teach different classes about Germany and learn something about Catalonia from the students. I had a lot of fun going for a run with Yolanda or going on a bike ride with Jorge. Sara & Hugo are super nice and open-minded and can speak English really well. All in all, I enjoyed the time there very much and can recommend it to everyone. Thank you for the great experience! ☺️

Filippo - what a great guy! He wasn't daunted by anything!! Confident in his ability to tackle a wide variety of different tasks here, either working together or independently. Just what I need. As soon as I explained what needed doing he was really quick to understand and happy to get working. The weather is very changeable in February and we had to plan work around cold, sunny, windy and rainy days! I could entrust him to do jobs even when I was not here. That's wonderful for me (and not always possible). As this was his first workaway experience he kept an open mind about what I would ask him to do next and if ever unsure always checked with me first, so, so important!! I do hope that he enjoyed being here as much as I enjoyed both his wonderful work and his company. I would highly recommend him to any host to whom he might apply in future - you can rely on him to self-direct, such a valuable quality. I wish him many happy workaway experiences wherever he goes!! Thank you so much for all you did here Filippo :)

Short version: Amazing place, amazing people. If you get the chance to come here, don’t hesitate! Long version: We had such a wonderful time at Mo and Kiki’s place. They are incredibly welcoming, generous, friendly and open-minded people, and their finca is truly magical. Every single day we enjoyed the stunning views and the peaceful atmosphere. We really liked all the tasks we had the chance to help with: weeding the vegetable garden, pruning the olive trees, mowing the grass, making and stacking firewood in the woodshed, building a wooden bed and a garden gate. The work was varied, meaningful and always appreciated. And most of all, we loved taking care of the three (sometimes four 😁) cats, each with a completely different personality, and walking the two sweet dogs, Lea and Lausi. Even though the winter weather was a bit challenging this year, the comfortable guest house made up for it. There is a spacious, well-equipped kitchen with a living area with a great wood burner that made even the coldest days warm and cosy, and a comfortable bed on the sleeping gallery. Another highlight worth mentioning is the super-fast WiFi. Kiki and Mo, we are truly grateful that we could spend 2.5 months at your finca. Thank you for everything. 💚💚💚

I cannot say enough great things to convey how fulfilling this experience was. Ilmars and Sana from the start had open communication, and a strong attention to be as accommodating as possible. It was both my first WorkAway and their first time hosting, which helped both of us work through some of the foundation for future worker/host exchange. The house itself (Lapa) had a few major tasks to accomplish but the approach was done so with community. In fact, community was definitely at the center of it all, the Nakanohocho neighbors were fun to be around (shoutout to Trevor and Tomoko also for both their generous help and desire to also be a part of the experience). Ilmars was patient and encouraging to teach anything you wanted to learn, and Sana for her behind the scenes work to provide even more comfort. I shared my time with another couple, Thomas and Naomi, and, man, I could not have picked a better set of people to spend my days with. It was a little over 2 weeks and I made friendships for life. I'm going to miss you guys, so much; I hope to see you again soon.

Her English is very good and generally she has a really good head on her! We enjoyed her company very much

It has been a pleasure getting to know Wendell. From him we’ve learned not only English, but also delicious recipes for cakes and cookies and also life experiences, he has travelled a lot! He has always been so attentive with our little Nel, and he constantly looked for ways to help us with different tasks at home. For us, Wendell was never a stranger, from the very first day, we felt he was part of the family. Nel will miss him, and of course, so will we.

I had the chance to stay one whole month at Socratis' place. For lovers of quiet nature, his place is paradise. I slept really well in my little earth room and enjoyed the off-grid lifestyle, petting the cats, walking the dog, cooking and helping around. I was there in the winter, so my jobs consisted mostly of moving stuff around, helping with pruning trees, weeding, and general tidying up. Socratis is an inspiring and driven man who gives you a lot of autonomy. He is very knowledgeable about a variety of subjects and eager to share with those interested. Just make sure you check that you've fully understood what he wants you to do before you start - don't be like me and prune too many branches! 😬

Caroline and Paul were lovely hosts, who made us feel at home straight away. Karragarra is a beautiful place, and we thoroughly enjoyed the island life, as well as getting involved with their life, and the local community.

As positive and lovely as this workaway profile is, it does not live up to spending time with the family in Person. I could not have wished for a better start into my 6 months stay in New Zealand. The Kids were lovely, the food was great, the view was breathtaking and Jack and Inne are such funny and nice people!! I dont think I can recall a time were I was having this much fun working hard, just because everything was so strongly appreciated. A must see when travelling to Christchurch ;)

I had a truly meaningful experience staying with Lily and being part of the English Club. She is an incredibly dedicated and hardworking host who genuinely cares about creating a positive environment for both her team and students. From the beginning, communication was clear and expectations were well explained. I appreciated the opportunity to contribute, take initiative, and support the space in practical ways. It was rewarding to see improvements and feel that my work was valued. Lily is generous, supportive, and always striving to grow her project. I’m grateful for the trust she placed in me and for the experience overall. I wish her and the team continued success, and I would happily stay again in the future.

We had a wonderful time with Jason and Katy. They were very kind, and from the moment we communicated via message, they helped us to make our stay comfortable. Our help was physical labor, but it was something women could do, and it mainly consisted of gardening. Jason gave clear instructions, so it was very easy to work there. The house was filled with their wonderful sense of style, and it felt as comfortable as staying in a hotel. We really enjoyed sharing Japanese food. We really fell in love with Crescent Head, and we wish we could have stayed and talked with you more. We already miss you guys!! Thank you!!

Bill and Cam were fantastic hosts! We enjoyed getting the opportunity to work hard on various projects, and finding your own solutions to occurring problems was a big part of the work. The hard work was always rewarded by days off, good food and drinks, and a nice swim in the pool! Another big part of our stay was the everyday dinners where we all took turns cooking, the pair of us cooked about two meals a week. The dinners always had fun conversations and the visit gave great cultural exchange!

Dear Thomas! This was truly wonderful to read and thank you for sharing your experience in Arusha with such heart. You worked in a program where results are not immediately tangible, but where the impact is deeply foundational. This kind of work requires patience, vision, and trust and you embodied exactly what we hope to see in a volunteer. You were self-led, motivated, and fully committed, co-creating and collaborating with our local team without needing strict oversight. That mutual trust allowed the work to be meaningful and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved. And while the results may take time to fully unfold, we know that many children - and ultimately their families, will benefit from what you started. We’re grateful for the thoughtful handover you created, which allows us to continue building on your work until we reconnect and develop it further together. We absolutely plan to stay in touch. Beyond your professional contribution, you were a real force in the house blending effortlessly with the volunteers who were here when you arrived and warmly welcoming those who joined after. Your presence helped shape the spirit of the group. Our whole team truly enjoyed spending time with you all and felt deeply appreciated. Thank you as well for your kind words about our home and environment. Everyone here does their best to create a safe, clean, welcoming, and professional space within our local circumstances - and it means a lot that you felt that. We hope this is not goodbye, but simply “see you later!”

Katie is a fun, happy, sociable, friendly, interesting person. She embraced the opportunity for local cultural experiences where she organised paid external work most afternoons, and enjoyed a few nights out. The quality of her work was good. For future hosts, I believe Katie would find it easier to meet her workaway obligations if working alongside at least one other person. I’d suggest her working style would be better suited to a flower farm, a garden centre, or a nursery, and not land restoration projects which can be quite physically demanding work. She made me laugh and kept me entertained and my feline companion Mischief thought she was lovely. I wish her all the very best in her endeavours.
