Description
Hi there! I'm Simon - engineer, entrepreneur, and captain of a gorgeous classic sailboat who's been around the world. She's now living the good life moored at a private island resort near Langkawi.
She's in great shape, but she always needs restoration work to keep her happy. That's where you come in!
=> Never touched a sailboat? No problem! I always need a hand with restoration projects - sanding, varnishing, rigging work, electronics, hydraulics you name it.
=> Sailed before? Fantastic! We'll tackle restoration projects together AND go island-hopping.
The boat is also my floating office, so I'll occasionally need some quiet time for calls and business stuff - nothing personal, just how remote work goes!
When we're not working on her, our resort island has pools, a gym, and all the facilities to keep active and fit.
Speaking of active—unless it's for work, I'd rather host guests not glued to screens, who are active and motivated.
I promise excellent meals, great coffee, and stories from every corner of the world.
Ready to get your hands dirty, stay active, and refresh your soul?
Write me and tell me what YOU can bring to the equation. Anyone with real passion, big dreams, and hands-on skills is welcome aboard!Types of help and learning opportunities

You'll experience authentic Malaysian culture in Langkawi, a UNESCO natural site with stunning landscapes. The local culture is Muslim - relaxed and respectful rather than a party scene. It's tropical (hot and sometimes rainy) but perfect for nature lovers.
Our marina has an international community of sailors and travelers from around the world, so you'll meet diverse people with incredible stories. Having lived in multiple Southeast Asian countries over the past 10 years and now on a boat in Malaysia, I speak English and French alongside my native Italian, so we'll have plenty of cultural perspectives to share.
You'll have the freedom to explore tropical island life authentically - dive into local customs, discover your own adventures, and make the most of this unique cultural immersion!Help
I'm looking for hands-on help with the boat's ongoing restoration and maintenance - everything from sanding and varnishing to rigging work, electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, carpentry…
For experienced sailors, we can also do island sailing trips where you'll help with boat handling and navigation.
The specific projects we will depend on what needs attention when you arrive.Languages
