Description
Hi everybody, I’m Susanne. Come join us at our beautiful family-run ranch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains! We have cows, sheep, horses, goats, chickens, and plenty of dogs and cats (so it goes without saying, you must enjoy being around animals). We are also a large, multi-generational family, so the house is always energetic when everybody’s home.
The Work:
I’m looking for Workawayers to help with my garden, general household chores as well as duties around the farm which would include fencing, cleaning the sheep barns and the chicken coops, carpentry and daily duties like feeding and watering the animals. The ranch has numerous buildings and if you have a passion for decluttering there will be always something to do! In return, you will be surrounded by nature in beautiful rural Alberta whilst enjoying delicious homecooked meals. Let me know what you can do and how you plan on helping!
Location & Logistics:
We are located 30 minutes from Cochrane, 1 hour from Banff, and 45 minutes from Calgary. Please remember that you are in rural Alberta. This isn’t Europe, and public transportation is very limited in our province. On your days off, and with notice, we may be able to give you a ride to Cochrane or Canmore. But please note that we are a busy family, and this is by no means a guarantee of transport. Part of the reason we’ve had Workawayers making multiple return visits is because of how much they enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of rural Canada. A lot of Workawayers find our way of life a breath of fresh air. If you’re looking to regularly hangout in towns and cities, this may not be the place for you (unless you have a car, of course).
We've had Workawayers love our ranch so much they've made four return visits and others who have even settled and started families in the area! With that being said, it is very important to once again remind you that you are in rural Canada and this is an active ranch.Types of help and learning opportunities
