Naomi and Charly were above average in everything they did while here. They were very pleasant to have around and both extremely competent and committed. They cleaned up before departing and were thoughtful and considerate in every way. These two compassionate people deserve each other. It would be a pleasure to have them return at any time. We miss them already. And wish them well on their travels.

Oh my gosh, Bernadette & Verena were absolutely wonderful volunteers. They fit right in, had a great work ethic, never complained (even about the dirty jobs!), learned quickly, and were really reliable. They were so good that we were able to leave them in sole charge of our animal sanctuary while we went away for a week. And in fact, we've even asked them to come back again! I highly recommend them .

My stay with Laura, Felipe and the kids was amazing. They were very welcoming and let me be a part of everything that was going on of activities. I felt like a part of their family even though I was only there for two weeks - that says a lot. The kids were so open and amazing but also learnt me a lot about setting boundaries. I loved all the family-style barbecues we had and I will definetly miss the laid-back, event though tough, boat-community lifestyle. All in all a very giving experience;)

Lucy being our first Aussie volunteer, and hosting her was truly a joy. We felt very lucky to have her. She is a very warm, positive, and energetic person. She communicated wonderfully both with us and the other volunteers, bringing a beautiful energy to the whole place. She carried out gardening, housekeeping, and all assigned tasks with great responsibility and care. Thanks to her hardworking and helpful nature, she quickly became an important part of the team. We were genuinely sad to see her leave. We were very happy to have her with us, and our door is always open if she ever wants to come back. Thank you for everything, Lucy 🌿

We couldn't have wished for a better start of the new WorkAway season. Sophie was a great match for us as a family - she fitted in perfectly from the first moment on. And for the jobs we needed help with. She helped us transform the land... With joy she cleared big patches of brambles. Taking them by the root. To dig 60 holes afterwards for planting fruittrees. To then put protective fencing around. And she picked up the skill of woodworking with ease. This resulting in doors for our greenhouse. Our household Sophie understood easily. Which was great. We enjoyed some wellprepared dishes and cakes. Cleaning up resulting in deep conversations. Give her a guitar and Sophie will light up the space with her beautifull voice. Long story short. If Sophie knocks on your door. Don't even think twice. You'll be finding a gifted, lighthearted, involved and motivated team-/ familymember. Thanks Sophie. Enjoy your journey

Alek stayed with me for three weeks, and it was an amazing experience. We did a lot of things: we worked on the yard and painted the garden walls, which turned out beautifully. Alek also helped me by taking photos for a lamp sales project, as well as shooting photos and video for my music project. We had a great time filming in nature and around the town. We also had meaningful conversations about our cultures and shared the music we each create. I highly recommend Alek—he’s calm, easygoing, and always has a positive attitude! Big hug and thanks, Alek!

I spent around three weeks here and enjoyed every minute of it. At the school, you’re really able to connect with the students and be creative with the lessons you teach. The food is delicious, both from the school and the home-cooked meals at the accommodation (especially William’s ugali). On the weekends, there are plenty of activities to explore the beauty of Kenya. On top of everything, everyone is incredibly kind and welcoming, regardless of where you are from or your teaching experience. If you’re thinking about volunteering, this is your sign to go!

David is an excellent host—accommodating, welcoming, and very knowledgeable! The work was enjoyable and varied: pickaxing and prying up small trees, shoveling overgrown grass and mud, cutting branches, and more. Some tasks might need a bit of labor (as least for me as a girl), but in a fun, rewarding way—it felt like a great (just a right amount) workout every day while you still have more than half a day left to explore the island! I also had an amazing roommate, which made the living experience even better. During my stay, I learned a lot about landscaping, tools, and the local environment from David. Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience I’ll always appreciate. I’d love to come back in the future if I get the chance!

I spent two weeks at this Workaway and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my travels. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and included. Even though this was a newer Workaway profile, the host already had a lot of experience hosting volunteers before, and it really showed. Everything was well organized, expectations were clear, and I felt comfortable straight away. The work was enjoyable and varied, and always fair. It never felt overwhelming, and there was a great balance between helping out and having time to relax or explore the area. I also learned a lot during my stay, both practically and culturally, which made the experience even more rewarding. What made this place truly special was the atmosphere. There was a real sense of community, and I really appreciated the time spent together — whether working, sharing meals, or just having conversations. It felt much more like being part of a small family than just volunteering. I left with great memories and I’m really grateful for the experience. I would 100% recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a genuine, well-organized and welcoming place. Thank you again for everything!

We loved having Eigil & Elisa stay with us they were exceptional volunteers and a real asset to our farm. From the outset, they showed maturity, intelligence and a strong work ethic, and quickly earned our trust. Over their stay, they took on significant responsibility. I was able to explain the desired outcome and leave them to deliver the work independently, which they did to a very high standard. They were exceptional at taking care of our animals, especially the baby animals. Beyond the work, they were wonderful company, thoughtful& easy-going, contributed positively to the group dynamic and were appreciated by everyone around them. We would welcome them back without hesitation. If you have the opportunity to host them, grab it with both hands.

Lorenzo stayed for two months with us and we had a great time, he really helped me a lot thank you so much for that. We went out to many places and cooked Italian food 😁. Lorenzo is very respectful, responsible, and super reliable. I highly recommend working with him. We still keep in touch and will :)

I really enjoyed my stay during this Workaway. It was my first experience, so did not know what to expect, but the hosts Dionny and Alan welcomed me with so much love and care. What I really liked, was the variety that the Workaway provided. The work differed from day to day, from weeding crops to planting seeds and teaching English to local kids. When we didn't work, Alan would recommend hikes in the area, which turned out truly amazing. Also, Dionny's cooking was truly amazing and served a great way to experience typical northern Peruvian dishes.

We spent 2 months with Linda and Bernie and enjoyed our stay quite a lot. Our hosts were extremely friendly and treated us like part of their family, including us in daily dinners for great food and conversation. We had a private bedroom and bathroom and the overall accommodations were comfortable and spacious. They are appreciative of the work we did but not overly demanding. We had a wide variety of tasks to do and received enough instruction and guidance to perform them all well. The exotic birds were something new for us, so that was both educational and interesting. The dogs were fun, playful and extremely appreciative of our time and affection with them.

This was my first Workaway I stayed at. I had to find somewhere to go at the last minute, due to my HouseSit being cut short due to adverse weather conditions. Neville offered me somewhere to stay at the last minute, which was very welcome. I had a lovely time at his place. It is an amazing location in the trees and forest, with amazing views out to sea. His chickens, guinea fowl and pheasants where very entertaining, including an amazing golden pheasant and a silver pheasant, which I had not seen before. He provided nice healthy food, is a great cook, and kept me busy cleaning his kitchen, keeping the dishes washed, dusting shelves, and preparing food for the barbeque he had on the Saturday evening with friends. He is a kind, caring, and honest person. We quickly and easily became friends. I highly recommend Neville's home here as he is trustworthy and easy going.
