Description
My name is Petro.
I’m originally from Greece, and I created this place to bring people together in one of the most beautiful natural areas of Laos.
Our guesthouse is in the peaceful village of Nong Khiaw, surrounded by limestone mountains, rivers, and jungle. It’s a place for people who love nature, hiking, and meeting travelers from all over the world.
This is more than just accommodation—it’s a simple, social space to connect, share stories, and enjoy life at a slower pace.
We kindly ask you to apply no earlier than 2 weeks before your planned arrival. This helps us ensure more reliable planning, as very early applications often lead to changes of plans later on.
!Working in the Heat – Please Read Before Applying ☀️!
Because of the tropical climate, working outside here can be physically demanding, especially during the hottest hours of the day. To make the work more comfortable and sustainable, we split the daily working hours into two parts:
2 hours in the early morning
2 hours in the late afternoon / early evening
During the middle of the day, temperatures can become very high, so this time is free for resting, relaxing, exploring the area, or doing your own activities.
Please keep in mind that some tasks (especially gardening, outdoor maintenance, and building projects) can still feel challenging due to the heat and humidity. Good energy, flexibility, and being comfortable with warm weather are important.
We believe this schedule creates a healthier and more enjoyable balance while still getting meaningful work done together. 🌴
🤝 Come and join us
Right now it’s low season, so things are calm and relaxed. We’re looking for friendly, open-minded people who enjoy being part of a small community and don’t mind getting their hands a little dirty.
!The main focus at the moment is garden work and small building/DIY projects. The work is outdoors and can be physical, especially in the heat. That's but tasks can always be adjusted if needed. What really matters is a positive attitude and motivation!
We usually ask for around 4 hours of help per day, with flexible timing.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travelers will benefit from a genuine cultural exchange by experiencing daily life in rural Laos, sharing time with locals and other volunteers, and learning about traditional Lao culture, food, and village life. They can also practice and exchange languages such as Lao, English, and Greek, gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures and ways of living. In addition, the peaceful environment offers a great opportunity to explore yoga and meditation in nature, helping to slow down, reconnect, and learn simple mindful living in a natural setting.

Help
Typical help includes:
!Please note: it is currently low season, so there are fewer guests and the main focus at the moment is garden help and building/DIY projects.!
- Garden care and outdoor tasks (basic landscaping task like taking care of the vegetable garden, maintaining the beauty of the garden and also more physical work like relocating large plants and transporting soil by wheelbarrow)
Of course we are flexible and can adjust tasks based on individual physical ability. Don't worry :)
- Small building, DIY and improvement projects
- Bringing your own ideas is very welcome, especially for building and creative projects
- Welcoming guests and creating a friendly atmosphere (when busy)
- Socializing with travelers (very important here 😊)
- Helping with social media or photos/videos
-Light cleaning and keeping the place tidy
Some experience is a plus, but not required — motivation and a willingness to get involved are what matter most! :) -
